Ubuntu Networking :: Reliance Broadband Not Connecting In 10.04?

i earlier used bsnl broadband(indian) in ubuntu and configure it using pppoeconf. right now i shifted to reliance broadband(not usb modem) but now pppoeconf cannot detect the connection It shows something like " Sorry I scanned two interfaces but the access concentrator of ur provider did not respond.plz chck ur ntwrk and modem cables. anoder reason fir the scan failure may be anoder running pppoe process which controls the modem

Reliance Netconnet Broadband+ ZTE does not work out-of-the-box with Ubuntu 9.10. I haven't yet upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 (iso download is at 46% ). Does it work out-of-the-box or is there some packages that need to be installed? (I have a dual-boot laptop Ubuntu/Windows 7)

i recently installed Fedora 14 on my laptop and when im tryin to connect the reliance dongle its not getting detected even as a usb ... when i tried to install it on fed 13 the rpm package inside the usb stick gets installed but when i click on the shortcut for moden it shows "device not connected"

I am attempting to connect to Virgin Broadband (Australia) pre-paid using a Huawei E160e modem in Ubuntu 9.10 UNR. I have setup the connection as per [URL].. including disabling CHAP and changing the APN as required in the thread. when I try to connect using the network manager, it disconnects straight away with the message "GSM Network disconnected". I have installed ubuntu 32 bit version on my HCL netbook. I use reliance netconnect (Huwai EC 1260 or 168c). I have configured it and it works well. But the only problem is that I have to connect the netconnect device before booting. If I connect it when its ON, the networkmanager does not connect automatically. even on the right on the tray icon, enable mobile broadband option is not there.

I'm using ubuntu karmic and I'm not able to connect to the internet with my reliance netconnect data card using network manager. Other distros like fedora, opensuse n sabayon connected easily with nm. Ubuntu detects the data card flawlessly but just doesnt connect.This problem has been persistent even in previous ubuntu versions, n I used to use wvdial. But downloading wvdial on some other comp with every dependency is really cumbersome.

I have installed fedora 12 recently. after installation i tried to connect to the internet using BSNL broadband connection. I filled in the details such as IP, Netmask, Gateway and even DNS servers. In the services also I ensured that the network manager services is on. However even though my computer cannot connect to the internet. I then tried the ping test of the modem from the address 192.168.1.1 and found that the ping test is successful. Then i tried the network administrator and there I noticed something unusual.
There are two options in the devices eth0 and eth1 thats ok but the unusual; thing is that the Activate (green button), Deactivate (red button) and even the delete buttons are in the background and I cannot select them. Isthis the problem for the network connectivity.

I have an USB (Huawei 1751) modem for mobile broadband. I had it up and running in Ubuntu 9.10 but I had to clear the computer for various reasons. I have decided to only use LTS versions so for the reinstall I have used Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I have downloaded and installed usb_modeswitch and can see that the modes is changed to the right value. After that I wanted to add a new mobile broadband connection in the network connections wizzard - but cannot see any settings for mobile broadband. I am sure it must be possible - but where is this function hidden in version 8.04 ?

I have just switched to Ubuntu from Win 7 RC. So far its been fun, learning to use terminal and all. But I have got a problem now I cannot find a solution to.
I am using 3 Mobile Broadband. The thing just worked - I plugged it in, created a new connection, modified config a little and was happily browsing.
However, it started acting out yesterday. When I boot the system with the modem plugged in, the USB stick is recignised and NetworkManager starts connecting (I have auto connect on). It then shows the "connected" message, and generally appears working fine.
On the other hand, I cannot open a single page in Firefox, it shows the default server not found page.
I used the approach Windows taught me: close, open, retry. I unmount the 3 Mobile Broadband drive, pull the modem out and reconnect it. NetworkManager then does it's job and this time everything works.
I nether had this problem in Win7 or Vista. It looks to me something goes wrong during the booting when the modem is plugged in.

I have cricket wireless broadband and the starcom um100 usb stick. It reconized it when I first put it in and was able to set it up. I connect to the internet and I am able to go to one or two pages before it freezes on me.
I ran the lshw -C network code and this is what I got it doesnt see my wireless
When I connect my wireless it does see it when I ran the lsusb code ( it didn't see it before when I didn't have it connected)

I decided to give 10.04 a shot, and upon first boot, I was able to setup and use my Rogers Rocket mobile broadband stick. When I rebooted, I found that it was in the network settings, but I was unable to connect, nor did it show up as an option in the drop-menu. I played with the terminal trying to see if anything was wrong, but everything seems normal, which is to say I don't even know what I'm looking for in regards to this type of connection.
I obviously know now that it works, I just don't know what made it stopped for the time being. I'm thinking of doing a fresh install over the current partition, and trying to work the issue from there.
