I'm using ushare 1.1 with my xbox360 and I'm trying to stream an avi file. It loads up ok and starts to play then after a minute it stops and loads up more of the video. I seem to remember this happening with my ps3 and mediatomb as well. Is there something I can change on my router (bt home hub)? I have enabled port forwarding for the port that ushare is running on. here's my ushare.conf

I have a Samsung BD-6800 blu-ray player that i want to stream HD mkv files to from my pc. I made sure DLNA was enabled in the /etc/ushare.conf file. The blu-ray player sees my pc perfectly and i can navigate to the folders where the videos are stored, however when i select a folder with videos in it all that is shown is an option called "upper folder" which takes me back to the root directory. The videos are nowhere to be found. I checked on the Ushare web site to see if mkv files are supported which they are.

We have a Jetway JBC600C99-52W-B (Mini-top) with Xubuntu 10.10 and Logitech Z-205 USB Speakers but I have no sound. EDIT: fixed after installing gnome-volume-control and selecting my output device. Now i have a other problem, when i stream a video it plays sound for 1 second and when i click the play button it works fine for a while but after a few minutes the audio stops again. the video plays fine.

I have a Ushare server up and running in Ubuntu-Server 10.10. So far the only video type I have been able to get working on my Xbox360 is .avi. I am very interested in configuring it to play .wmv and .mkv videos as well, seeing as most of my library is made up of these two file-types. After taking a look at ushare's documentation, I found that .wmv and .mkv are both fully supported video formats; however, I can't seem to get either of them to work. Every time I attempt to play either of those two type, I receive a message saying: Unplayable Content: Can't play this content because it may not be supported. For more info, go to.... I have been using uShare for a few years now, and up until now it has worked great. A few snags here and there, but nothing I couldn't figure out, although after five years using Ubuntu, i still consider myself a noob. Now I am on a new machine, running Ubuntu 11.04 (my last one was running 9.04) and I am having trouble with uShare again. Its installed, configured, and runs just fine, but my xbox won't recognize it.Here's the catch: the first night I set it up, after a few errors, I got it working! Watched a movie, smiled, and went to bed. Woke up the next morning, booted up the comp, fired up ushare and BAM! Nothing. I hadn't changed any settings, moved any cables, downloaded anything new, but no dice. After a little searching, I updated the .conf file to reflect a change I noticed in the IFACE. Sometimes when I boot my computer, it connects to the router on eth0, sometimes on eth1, and sometimes on eth0-eth1. I'm not sure what is up with that, but that may be a problem for another day. For right now, I just want uShare to work.

Is there another program I can use to share my movies to my 360? Ive tried setting uShare up numerous times, and always get errors. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and now I can even re-download it.

As you can see it's saying no such file or directory but at the same time telling me it did find the one file in the directory. How to fix this or any other software will allow me to achieve streaming to 360? Because this software seems extremely buggy.
I am trying to stream my music and videos to my xbox 360 from ubuntu 10.10, and I have set up ushare to do that. Ushare seems to be workign correctly, it starts up and the xbox recognises the share from the media menu, but there is no videos or music! For some reason ushare doesnt find any media in the folders I specified, and I double checked and the paths look correct to me. This is the error I get in the terminal:

The second Encode includes the Audio.And there i got the problem:Too many audio packets in the buffer: (4100 in 1043395 bytes).Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.I tried likely anything possible.How to fix that ?Before that i got the issue with demuxing the audio where i got a massive amount of "Too many buffered pts" errors. View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get DivX streams to buffer long enough to watch them. I have installed DivX plugins and tried to use VLC, neither which, allow me to pause the video and allow the buffer to load. On Winblows and Mac, There was a different player that handled DivX streams that allowed for large buffering. I checked the /tmp folder while attempting to watch and the stream is not there. Is there another folder I should see the stream in? Is there a bug with the software, or can you only buffer DivX streams as long as they are running? I have a slow DSL connection and have no other way, other than torrents, to watch movies. And I would much rather wait a few minutes to watch the entire movie, than wait a few hours for the torrent to finish downloading.

I installed version 195.36.24 of the Nvidia driver using the Nvidia installer, and after starting X the system became unresponsive.

I want to watch a certain video on [url]...., but I get an error message instead. Some videos can be played, so I'm thinking it's a form of restriction, but I can't be sure.I tried using a few proxies, but on some the error message persists and on others the video doesn't load. View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I play large HD videos in mplayer, the video and sound frequently get out of sync, and the video plays a little strangely (occasionally speeding up and occasionally slowing down).
I think it's because mplayer is only running on a single core. As I've got a quad-core processor, it seems inefficient. I've seen that there is theoretically a way to get mplayer to work with multicore setups, but it requires compiling with different options. That'd take me a little while to work through.
Ideally there would be a pre-compiled version in the software centre, or a player which has support built in (again, ideally in the software centre). Is there such a thing available?

this happens with both VLC and Totem, when in either of those programs playing a video, if I click on one of the top menus, say View in Totem, the video stays on top of the drop down options. In order to see the options I have to hover over them with the mouse at which point they become momentarily visible. I read a post somewhere where someone had a similar problem and it was solved by reinstalling Compiz, but I've tried uninstalling it entirely, reinstalling it, etc. and none of it works. It doesn't happen with flash videos in firefox, it does happen with visualisations in Totem, and it only started happening since I upgraded to 11.04.

I have previously used Cinelerra-cv (on Karmic) and recently Openshot (on Lucid) with not much trouble. I have been sampling other video editors (Kdenlive, avidemux, kino etc). Now I have my video card crashing whichever I use, mainly when trying to load clips. I have disabled Compiz, uninstalled all video editors and then reinstalled one at a time. I still get early video crashes whichever I try.
I am setting up a MythTV environment to switch from Windows based MediaPortal (with a high number of disturbing bugs). Yet, I have three difficulties, which I want to discuss with you. They are:
- No audio via HDMI see [URL]
- Video resolution seems to change during video playback
- Channels cannot be found via DVB-S [URL]
As you can see, I have created three posts to keep discussions focused.
Alltogether I have the following setup:
- AMD 5050e CPU
- 8 GByte RAM
- Biostar TA890GXE
- Samsung LE40M86BD, connected via HDMI (and only HDMI)
- Mythbuntu 10.10 with proprietary drivers installed
- Technisat Skystar HD2 DVB-S card (two times)
Now, here is the problem:
Whenever I playback any video material using e.g. VLC, the screen resolution changes. This also applies when playback the video in a window and not fullscreen. The problem is that whenever the screen resolution changes, short time later the TV set blanks screen and show the TV set specific information "unsupported video mode".
How can I enforce to stay in the configured video mode?
I have ushare server connected to my 360 and its working fine, I can see my videos and watch them perfectly, but my music or mp3's arent displaying on the 360 properly at all.
In the video library it displays all the sub folders with the videos in them first and then the video files that arent in a folder, thats normal for me. But the music libray is only showing 1000 files and half of it is the album art jpg files etc. I have well over 30,000 mp3's and 98% of them are organised into folders etc.
Why its sharing my files in this way?
