I want to find a way to stream my home movies online, so that I can watch them anywhere. I want it to have a way to see all the movies I am streaming and just click on the one I want to play. It cannot be in flash format because of quality reasons. I'd rather it be able to support xvid or divx if possible because of its compression ratio. If not the movie would have to be no more then 1.4gbs a movie and still have good quality.
The closest thing I got to this was jinzora. I have also tried mediatomb (but I cannot figure out a way for vlc player to open the files without manually entering each link and I also cannot figure out a way for it to know at what point it is in the movie ex: 43:01/1:00:00). I am willing to use other formats if needed, but the size cannot be anymore then 1.4gb and still has to be good quality.
I have a new install of Karmic on my system with a flyvideo 3000 tv card installed. My problem is that it doesn't find any radio channels and the input channel is completely wrong. I don't have any sound on gnomeradio and can't find the config files to change the input channel. The only input option available to me is dig1 - can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have already read the Howto for this tv card and changed the device to radio0 in the setup. I have setup tvtime perfectly with sound channel as well as with a 5.1 surround configuration. I am missing my favourite radio channel. and I want to get rid of my windows installations once and for all! Update: I did a system update and some things have changed: the radio tower graphic on gnomeradio is now green (I assume it is getting a signal) but no sound yet.
I want to stream a radio station that uses .cfm . I've tried a lot of options but without success. Anyone have experience with cfm?
I can stream other stations using vlc media player and even Adobe flash player. But no success with this cfm stream.
how can i stream a new radio channel that uses mms example :[URL]
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get the following error when I try to play my local radio station via firefox with Kubuntu 9.10:
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (mms) isn't associated with any program.
I have Flash, and the Gecko Media Player plugins installed.

Is it possible to record an Internet radio stream? I don't mean the audio output, I mean the stream itself, which often contains additional data such as track and artist details.
I guess what I'm asking is how to record the stuff that goes /into/ my media player, rather than what comes out of it. But maybe dealing with raw data like this would result in huge files and be impractical?
I'd love to listen to a local radio station while working, but my problem is I can't seem to stream it at all.
The link is [URL], and when I click on the Live Radio link, it leads me to [URL] which contains a player which wouldn't load. On viewing its source, I saw the following:
Code:

I'm using Ubuntu Karmic Koala with Gnome desktop.I listen to online radio with Rhythmbox, I have all the necessary URLs loaded in.Now Rhythmbox is a great program but it seems like overkill just to listen to online radio. Is anyone using an alternative for this purpose, something small and neat?
View 9 Replies View Relatedtried to do a search for this but it's a bit of a tricky thing to search for. Basically what I'm after is a solution for my work so I can stream a online radio station down to 1 server, and then have the clients stream the audio from that. Anyone know if that's possible?
so:
Online Radio >> Server >> Clients
Any linux or winblows solution would be fine, I'm just trying to look for a solution that would cut down on the internet bandwidth usage, but still allow uses to listen to online radio.
Do you know any applications that can record from online radio stations?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to play a Quicktime stream and can't figure it out. When I try to play it either in Firefox or Movie Player, it says I need a text/html decoder plugin, but doesn't find one from the autosearch. Downloaded Ubuntu Restricted Extras from the Software Center, but no luck (don't know if I'm supposed to "do" something after that). MPlayer doesn't work on my computer, and I've also downloaded Avidemux, thinking maybe I'd get the right codec or plugin, but again, no luck. I am on Ubuntu 10.04 on an Eee PC, if it makes a diff.

View 1 Replies View Relatedrunning kubuntu 9.10 karmic koala, and my sound settings -at first glance- seem to be in order... a strange thing is occurring, is my machine haunted? my sound works when:
a. the machine boots up
b. files are played in dragon player
c. the machine shuts down
my sound does not work when:
1. i try to play streaming flash videos online (e.g. videos videos show the image but no sound will play)
2. the same goes for vlc media player: images yes, sound no.
3. i use skype *edit: additional problem*
i made no changes, that i know of, to my machine before this started happening. one day everything was working fine and i turned off my machine to go to sleep. the next day, i turn on my machine, and surprise, the sound doesn't work in some instances.
[URL] In Windows just click "Oua ou vivo" (Listen Live) and away you go (WMP). Can also select one of "S os melhore" (Just the hits) and it plays. In Ubuntu I've downloaded Amarok, MPlayer, Rhythm box, Streamtuner, & VLC, but am not going to live long enough to figure out how to stream with any of them (although "S os melhores" plays OK). how to stream this & any other WMP station. No problem with Flash stations such as [URL] by the way.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, and so far I'm digging it a lot more than 10.04 (had annoying sound issues then), but I have a mild issue with playing online radio streaming through either FireFox or Chrome.
After about 25 minutes or so, the audio will just stop, I then have to click on my radio channel to get it back up again. Kind of annoying. I assume this is some sort of plugin or keep alive issue?
I'm trying to figure out the hidden stream URL for the following local radio station here in Tulsa, OK.[URL]
