It must have been one of the last updates in maverick. My fluendo dvd player has no sound when playing a dvd anymore I don't know, what happened. VLC or totem do play these dvds without probs and - of course - with sound!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed the Fluendo decoder following the tutorial linked to from here (but just downloaded the RPM so I wouldn't have to unpack anything). Now "fluendo-codecs-mp3" is showing up in my software manager as having been installed, but I still can't play MP3 files in either Amarok or Kaffeine. One thing I've noticed is that, in the software manager, under "Installed (Availabled)" it says "11-3" in red.This was such a simple thing to fix in Ubuntu, I'm baffled by how much trouble I'm having right now. Please help me so that I can justify the eight hours I spent downloading openSUSE. I love the interface and would hate to go back to Ubuntu's oranges and browns (and Gnome).

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that i have no sound in any video player. The video works perfectly, but with absolutely no sound. I've tried switching output to ALSA, OCC and still no success. My audio files are playing perfect with any music player. In sound setting I'm using Analog stereo duplex, I have the option of choosing HDMI, but than I have no sound whatsoever.

no sound on playing .flv files, the volume control greyout. however vlc can play them without sound problem. videos also works without problem on sound.

When ever i'm playing a file in any player, Rhythmbox, Exaile, Totem... and i mean a sound file, i can't listen to my 5.1. Actually... when ever i choose from Sound Preferences -> Output -> Profile: 5.1 I can listen to the Bass kicking, and all my speakers works. Now, when i change manually the song, or automatically... or even when i Stop and then Start again the playback, i loose the Bass and not all my speakers works as intended. When i go to Output Profile again, 5.1 it's still selected. I have to change back to something else, like 4.1 or stereo and then back to 5.1 so the Bass and all speakers work again as they should.
Something that has been bugging me. I'm not sure about where it should be so I put it here.
When I loaded up a flash game, the music/sound would be delayed. It's nothing with the performance of my PC because it's still fast.
I have been reading over lots of forum postings, etc on getting the Sirius/XM Player to run on OpenSuse 11.2. I have installed the Firefox plug-in MediaPlayer that allows me to change the player for different types of streams. I have installed the kmplayer as well as the xine-lib and opensuse-codecs. I can bring up the player and then it will show a stream playing but I don't hear anything. I configured my MediaPlayer to have all streams go to the kmplayer.

new dell computer. dual boot with windows 7 and the sound there is ok.
cpu is intel c7 with 8 g-byte of ram.
os is open suse version 11.2 - 64 bit
desktop is kde
sound is 5 series/3400 seriies chippset high def audio
i just recently installed open suse so no new software other than what was there on install is added. by the way, i get the kde sounds and can play audio cd's so the sound is working partially. just not for these apps. i have adobe flash installed. i'm new to kde. i have previously used gnome on other computers.

Sound works in Yast when doing the sound check. The OpenSuse boot dingle sounds fine. Just nothing in the music players

I have a DVD player that is for some reason outputting very quiet sound. I would like to wire the audio cable output end into the input of my Ubuntu laptop, then amplify the sound, and output it from the laptop to external speakers. What program will allow me to take inputted mic sound, and then echo it back at higher volume?

I have recently found a strange problem with my VLC Media Player, as it only has sound is certain file types, but on others it doesn't. I have tried to run .AVI files, and it plays sound, also tried .flv files, but with no luck. I am running Ubuntu 10.10.

I am having a problem when using Flash. Whenever I am listening to a Flash application (..... primarily), I am unable to hear sound from any other applications (Rhythmbox, movie player, etc).
The converse is also true, if I am using Rhythmbox, and then start ....., the video plays...but with no sound. I have to manually kill the app and web browser (tried multiple...Firefox, Chrome, Swiftfox) to get sounds working correctly. I am my wits end with this problem, and have just putting up with it for several months now.

I have just installed Fedora 12 KDE, which is kinda new for me as I have previously worked more in Ubuntu and/or Gnome.I have the MP3 codec from Fluendo and I would like to use it in Amarok to listen to my music. I use the MP3 format because my iPod shuffle does not understand OOG.Does Amarok use Gstreamer out-of-the-box or do I have to change something somewhere so I can install Fluendo and have it picked up? Or do I have to do something else (possibly dirty) to be able to play MP3s?Along the same thread, will this allow me to rip CDs to MP3 format as well?

Now I want to rip this DVD but all the rippers I tried return a error at that point when they try to rip it. Rippers I tried:
- dvd::rip
- FFMPEG
- Acidripper
- Avidemux
Now I want to know ain't there a ripper which can read over these errors and still make a decent rip?
