I fresh installed Maverick and had sound for buttons and Rythymbox. After installing flash all sound is gone.I have checked most of the suggested possible causes but have not come up with the reason for this. ALSA info: [URL]

Ever since I replaced my old Radeon HD 3850 AGP card with a Radeon HD 4830 PCIE one, Flash Player (v. 10.3.181.14) is a mess: - no hardware video acceleration (full screen playback unbelievably slow) - no audio
Only flash plugin is concerned; hardware video acceleration and audio seems to be present in other applications. (First skype also had no sound, but that could be set by selecting the onboard analog audio device instead of the default).
In this specific case, even yast is confused: I can configure the mobo audio device in it, but nothing else works in yast: no audible test sound, no possibility to set volume for the mobo audio device, as no volume controls are shown. (It may happen that yast "shows" the non-existing radeon hdaudio device controls, instead) Kmix is better: it shows both audio devices and all controls and all work (this means there are no controls for the radeon hdaudio device - but I do no miss them, as I do not want to use that device).
Is there a way to: - disable the radeon hd audio device so that linux get into a more friendy hardware environment? - is there a way to do this in linux (alsa)? (of course everything works in xp, this time, too)
I have a fairly fresh install of Slackware and I just installed the flash plugin for Firefox. After installing the flash plugin, I'm able to view videos, but I'm unable to hear any sound.
- Pidgin also does not play sound
- Amarok plays sound fine
- Other KDE system event sounds play fine (i.e. starting and leaving X)
- I used alsaconf to configure my sound as it wasn't working right after the Slackware install
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
I have used the command timidity -EFreverb=0 -iA -Os so that I can hear sound when I use tuxguitar. My problem now is that I can no longer hear sound when browsing the internet. My web browser is Firefox. By right clicking my mouse on the websites where I cannot hear sound a dialog box about adobe flash player 9 appears. There have not been any error messages.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 beta. After installing the flash player, everything worked fine. I installed a few updates, as well as Ubuntu Stuido from the synaptic package manager, and when I rebooted, I can't hear any sound from flash content displayed in Fire Fox. All other sounds work fine, and I made another user account as a test, and that account has full audio functionality, including flash...
Says it's installed via the Ubuntu software center. But ....., grooveshark, pretty much everything that uses flash doesnt work. An interface will pop up (ex. ..... player will pop up but can't do anything with it) but nothing happens.
I did install Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit at my Dell Inspiron 1721 laptop. Well I did some installations via Ubuntu software center only, and I'm not that familiar with the terminal. Hope you guys can help me with that. The first thing I need is the Flash Player to be able to visualize videos on Firefox.
I'm not shure if there is a bug related to video in this version of Ubuntu, if so I could try another one as I'm just starting to use Linux and Ubuntu and it wouldn't be a problem to restart it all if this could solve this and future problems. I've just downloaded a preview release for Flash Player with native suport for native Linux 64-bit at Adobe. it is called "Flash Player Square" and seems to be unstable, a Beta version.
When i watch ..... videos it tends to stay on my browser in a weird way, so when i go on other tabs it is still there and is rather irritating ..the image shows what i am talking about flash.jpg.I use ubuntu 10.10 and firefox 4 if that helps...
I installed Debian Wheezy on an external server. For my purpose I need to install a graphical interface with the following command
Code: Select allsudo apt-get install gnome-core xorg iceweaselNext I need to install xrdp to connect to the server via Remote Desktop Connection. Code: Select allsudo apt-get install xrdp
After that I installed Oracle Database 12c. It was a bigger effort to get the whole system going than initially supposed. As far as I can see it is working now. Finally to use Oracle Enterprise Manager in the Iceweasel Browser I also need to install the flash player. After modifying the sources.list I did that with the following command
Code: Select allsudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree.It installed successfully. Now I started the browser unfortunately it is not working perfectly. Typing in the URL of the Enterprise Manager I can see the site, but there is no text!!! (see the attached picture)
i'm using unr (9.10) and flash player works fine for me, the admin, but not for the other user on the computer. when the other users goes to videos, he gets a message that flash player is not installed or javascript is turned off. i checked and javascript is on.
I installed Flash Player, But when I go to play a video or something it says I still have to install it so go back to adobe to install but says it is already installed. Ubuntu v.9
It should be easy, but Adobe's page for Linux downloads has a choice of about five different downloads. I tried one and it gave me some files I don't know what to do with. I do already have Flash on my computer, which I got from the Ubuntu software centre, and it works for most things but some things tell me I need a newer version.
Can anyone explain to me how to install the newest flash player on netbook remix? I am pretty rusty with linux and want to put it on my netbook. I currently have it on a flash drive. I want to make sure i can do everything I need on it before I wipe Windows.
I am using pepperflash and the youtube HTML5 player on Debian Sid, on an amd64 machine. I am having a problem where the video will just black out every so often, like every minute or two, the audio still works and I need to either go forward or backward in the video to get the image back. I have noticed it on youtube videos which I suppose uses the HTML5 player not pepperflash.
I use openSUSE 11.4 64 bits, KDE, FireFox 5.0 for browser.Graphics card : nVidia GeForce 9500 GT.
However, when I want to see embedded movies, e.g. in my newspaper, or looking for a hotel, either I get the message : you have no flash plug-in installed, or I get a black screen with a cross in it.
Before that I tried to :
Code: sudo zypper rm pullin-flash-player flash-player nspluginwrapper followed by : Code: sudo cp ~/Downloads/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/ I also followed the links indicated by FireFox for the missing plug-in which eventually resulted in :
I have problem with downloading files from web page of my school. When I click on download, it will ask for location to save and when I choose one (for example home or desktop), the page freezes, but firefox is still running, so I just have to close the tab. I tried it also with chromium with same result, but it produced some error log. I tried flash player 10.3 and 10.2 - same result. I also tried installing flash-player-gnome, but no luck. On linux mint 9 64-bit everything works perfectly.note: flash player can play movies (for example on .....). I can download files, that aren't downloaded with flash player.error log:

I just started using Ubuntu and I have 2 grand kids that love PBS Kids Sprouts. The Adobe Flash Player will not work for me on this link. I have loaded the latest version 10 and I am using Firefox as a browser. I have the Nvida chip set on my video card.[URL]..
I'm using ubuntu 8.04, and when I load some things, like some games, it tells me I need flash player 10. I have downloaded it multiple times and installed it multiple times but nothing is working as it should. Is it because I'm still on 8.04?

I got a problem with flash player. Atm I'm using chrome. Flash version 10.1.102, chrome version 6.0.472 So, my problem is that after a long while of having the browser open (any), flash player stops working properly (it's hard to describe but in ..... for example, the image and sound freeze for 5 seconds, in the next second everything happens at once, freezes 5 seconds again, shows all that frozen time in fast forward again, etc). This happens every a few hours of not closing the player's plugin I restart flash with the chrome task manager, reload the page, and it works properly again. I tried using firefox but I have the same problem (except I cant restart the flash plugin without restarting the browser).
