I am on ubuntu 64 Bit and I am trying to install my (by now relative old) copy of Maple 8.0.
I start the installer script, and get:
Error: can't find libjava.so
libjava.so is located at:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.21/jre/lib/amd64/libjava.so
i have installed the java using the rpm bin from java official website. The reason i installed this is because openjdk cannot be recognized by oracle solaris studio. I install using the rpm bin package.I installed into /usr/java and create a symbolic link for /usr/bin and copy the libjli.so into /usr/lib.When i typed, java -version, it say the libjava.so cannot be found.

and it got exit from the installation.

I try to googled for this particular error, but I could not find any solution.
I had originally followed the advice at Mauriat Miranda's Fedora Nvidia Driver Install Guide [URL] for installing nvidia's display driver on my HP Pavilion system 64 bit running Fedora 11. I had used his first method which just installs the relevant kernel module kmod-nvidia from RPMFusion. He also suggested an alternate method: obtaining Nvidia's installer NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-185.18.36-pkg2.run and using that. I downloaded it from Nvidia, but I didn't run it.
I recently lost X. This had happened previously after a kernel upgrade, and I just used grub to boot an earlier kernel to recover X, and then installed the upgraded kernel module to fix the problem. But this time, being deeply involved in something else, I panicked slightly, and, using dumb terminal mode I ran the Nvidia installer. It asked me to make various choices and in response to my answers, it decided to compile a new kernel module. This recovered X, but I then compounded things by installing the updated kmod-nvidia.
I realized afterwards that using both methods might create some conflicts, but X seemed to run properly. (I can tell because graphics in the program Maple doesn't work properly with the default drivers provided by Fedora 11.) Since then, when I restart nvidia, I get.

I want to make by pendrive bootable with ubuntu 9.10 netbook remix iso. I'm currently using windows. I downloaded the iso and extracted usb-creator.exe out of it and ran it. I get the error Cannot find python26.dll. How do i fix this. I'm using a netbook with windows vista.

At first restart appears the dualboot, I choose ubuntu but appears this message:

I've tried installing Ubuntu from the installation disk, flash drive, and using windows installer. The drive and disk said I didn't have enough memory open to install (I have 160GB open)upon looking around in the demo, i noticed that it couldn't find my hard drive as it wasn't on the drive explorer. So i searched for answers and found a few possible ones but i wanted to find someone with my exact problem--Couldn't find any. So then I came upon the Windows Installer and Tried it out. All went well until i had to reboot, it said it couldn't find the installation.iso (which is indeed on my computer) and that i should run "Chkdsk /r" and i did. Nothing changed. I still believe that Ubuntu can't see my hard drive when windows can, why is this? Is there a way to fix it? EDIT: How could I forget to mention I'm on Windows 7?

However I then wanted to encrypt the USB using truecrypt inside ubuntu and got an error message telling me it could not find some file. I then installed virtualbox onto the ubuntu this installed fine,i then installed windows xp and after completion clicked save the state. I then restarted ubuntu and when it loaded up again the virtualbox and windows xp had been deleted. Iv tried this twice just to make sure but same thing both times.

I just installed Ubuntu on my brand new system that I built. I put in my cd for my HD 5770 video card, and an icon shows up on my screen XFX_VGA_V9.8C text under it.
However when I try to access it in anyway, I try to open with autorun prompt, I get a message "This medium contains software intended to be automatically started. would you like to run it?"
I click on run and get "Error autorunning software, cannot find the autorun program."
Is there anyway that I can run this disk. It's important for setup. I cant copy the disk to the desktop, I get errors.

We are in the process of testing SLES 10 SP1 installation, onto a new system.
Initially the installation got failed at the start giving following error :
"Could not find the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Installation CD. Activating Manual setup program."
What is interesting to notice is , if we use SLES 10 SP2 to boot the system upto the Installation menu and then replace the CD with SLES 10 SP1 media, the installation proceeds as normal without any error.
Not sure that could be the problematic thing over here. Does it mean with SP1 , no cdrom/cd or hard disk gets detected ?
I've got a setup where I need to use 'find' to find 0 or more files in a certain directory, however, 'find' always produces an error when there are no files that match a certain check. Is it possible to run 'find' while having it omit errors when no files match the pattern?

I had a a problem booting last night when my laptop battery came loose and caused a crash during boot.It ceased loading a daemon and I turned it off with the power switch, then I received the boot error,then i checked the linuxdrives directory and it was corrupt,I then, out of ignorance, ran wubi from within windows XP and said unistall believing that it would reinstall and fix itself.Thus you can see my green behaviour.I have been searching the threads and have tried many things but have had no success, I will suffer a great loss if I lose that load of Ubuntu as I have allot of work stored there, and in my Thunderbird accounts.

In gparted however the partition with ubuntu (sda1) is seen as unknown file system, in terminal when I list the partition table it shows up as FAT16 type. We make everyday a DB Mysql backup on Linux redhat Enterprise. We are using a bash shell script (and putting it in the crontab) to execute it automatically everyday. We added a line to this script telling, once the backup has completed, to find old backup files (stored on hard disk after each backup) older than x days to remove them. We use the find command (search for file type) with the mtime option and in combination with rm command. Everything runs ok but we also want to add some new code to the same line: If find command cannot find anything or fails, for example if it cannot delete file or fails, send the error message (standard error output) to an error file (like error000001 and increasing) and mail the errorxxxx file to an email address for example to admin@companyname.com. What would be the code for this issue to add it to our find command in the same bash shell script??

I'm trying install TACACS+ server version 4.0.4.19 from sources. (OS OpenSUSE 11.2) On the ./configure stage i've got the following error message configure: error: Could not find libwrap. You must first install tcp_wrappers. But libwrap library has installed already. I see this by the output of ls command within /lib directory
# ls /lib | grep wrap
libwrap.so.0
libwrap.so.0.7.6
So i suggested option --with-libwrap=/lib could solve the problem. But it is not. Also i was tried make #export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/lib with no result. The problem is still there.
