Ubuntu Installation :: Unable To Install Microsoft Office 2003 / Enable This?

I have installed on my Ubuntu 10.10 OS via my laptop MS Office 2011 using wine.
The trouble that I am experiencing is that when trying to install MS Office 2003 to my Pc/ Non-laptop computer with Wine I keep getting the error if I double click setup.exe in the MS Office 2003 CD code...
I have seen many tutorials online but all of them require modifying .DLL's in Wine and none of them have worked so far.
I am fairly new to using Ubuntu 10.10 or any other versions of Ubuntu. I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 2010 and opened it with Wine (read it was the best and easiest to use) after a few seconds I get an error message asking me to install msxml 6.10.1129.0, So I did some further research and found a bunch of links for download but from experience I did not attempt any as I know my PC can get infected. I've ran into something rather odd. I've installed wine and Office 2007. If I am to open a office 2003 (doc) or office 2007 (docx) file, it will open wine and office 2007 to edit the file. This is the desired behaviour. If I am to open an office 2003 (doc) file in firefox, openoffice will be opened. If I am to do the same with an office 2007 (docx) file, wine and office 2007 will open.where to start to get wine/office 2007 to open files from firefox?
I tried to install Microsoft Office 2007, but I get a program error "This program has encountered a serious problem and needs to close". Here is the wine log:

when i am trying to install microsoft office2007 in my fedora14 through wine, after 75% progress installation stops and an error message appears. "installation stops due to an unexpected error" but in any way i want to install it on fedora14. its a 'do or die 'condition so anybody can give me informations.
I am running Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope on a Toshiba Satellite A45 S120 2.6Ghz 256Ram, 40GBHD, I am running Windows XP Home Edition, with Office 2003 on another partition. I unpacked and installed Wine on Ubuntu (not sure which version, it already was on Ubuntu 9.04), and how do I now run Word, and Excel? I can open the File Browser and access winword.exe on my XP partition, but when I click it it doesn't open without error message. I don't know what to do.

I've been searching and all installations were made with 1 or 2 commands well, that's it. I only need to run excel with VBA support. The rest I do it with openoffice.
I have a problem with my office 2003, I am not sure whether its graphics problem or is it a bug in wine. I have the latest version of Wine and I installed Office 2003. Everything works fine, I mean I can open the documents, edit them and do everything. The only problem I am facing is that when I click any thing on the menu and expand the menu, the shadows are created and I am unable to see the expanded menu. I attached the screenshot of how it looks so that you have a rough idea what I meant.

I have recently adquired a Dell Inspiron laptop with Intel Core 2 processor and Windows 7 Home Basic Edition (64 bits) installed. Since I need for working linux I have performed a reduction of the main partition of Windows leaving free a 20 GB of hard drive. With an Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop version (64 bits) I have installed then Ubuntu linux in the empty space mentioned now then having a dual boot laptop (I have done this before with other computers, I knew how to do it so to make it work). All went well and both OS works fine. I have installed a lot of packs without any problem, when I installed thunderbird pack I notice that its version is 2.0. I didn`t think that was a problem until I wanted to install some addons and thunderbird complaints that those addons only work with versions superior to 3.0. " Ok" I said to myself, and looked here code...
I have a very big problem here. First a little background information. I tried searching this forum but didn't find anyone with similar situation.
I have installed Ubuntu and it's variations many, many times on different computers, and once in my current desktop PC. Right now I am in a situation where I want to install Ubuntu 10.04.01 (or any version, really) but I cannot.
I have tried to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, I have tried Ubuntu 10.04.1 and 10.10, I have tried to install with Wubi (currently running Windows 7 64bit), I have tried to burn the images to CD and created an USB installer, nothing works, it's always the same. Installer starts, I put in "Install Ubuntu", and the screen goes blank. Nothing but a white little cursor blinking in upper left corner of screen. And I cannot type in anything.
Previously I had Ubuntu 10.04 installed with Wubi, and it worked. Right now, nothing works. Anything helpful appreciated. I can provide some system info if needed.
Ok so recently a friend recommended I try Ubuntu. So I downloaded and ripped 11.04. Reset PC went to install and got to about 95% then got an error that said "Unable to Install GRUB in /dev/sda" then downloaded 10.04 LTS and got same issue along with 10.01 (friends disc) and same issue. I have tried both 64 and 32bit, have tried iso and usb. I was able to install it on an older machine of mine and enjoying it. But I really want it on my main machine. Here are the specs of my main. Number 8 and 9 are the issue and choices after words. I am unable to select any choice on step nine. when i hit OK it wont do anything. I hope this is all enough info and would love any help that is given. My friend who is an Ubuntu user is throwing his hands in the air at this point lol. While doing research I found a few ppl with similar issues. And one person said when he made his own /root and /home partitions it worked. I get similar issue even if I take those steps. Ive collected as much info for you guys as I can think of if you need more info plz let me know.
Here are the messages appears on terminal. I can reach those URLs by browser and manually download them. But when I try to install them on terminal or via package managers, simply my attempt fails.. What would be the problem here?
how well does Microsoft Office 2007 work under WINE? My mother is a school teacher for younger children, so she really only needs Microsoft Office 2007 and a browser. For the life of me, I've never met anyone that gets more viruses and problems with her computer. So I'm wondering if I can switch her over to Linux and use Microsoft Office 2007 in WINE. OpenOffice isn't a possibility, I'm already pushing it asking her to learn how to use Linux. (I know it isn't hard, I use it myself, but she will fight to the death about using Microsoft Office) So how's Office in WINE?
I was checking out wine and installed ms office 2007 in it. But I ended up deciding (for the Windows programs that I needed to use, and the context in which I need them) to just install XP in a VirtualBox machine and use all my Windows programs there (not very many). So, I uninstalled wine and I did all of this that is recommended in the wine faq (to completely remove everything):
However, I now have an annoying issue. Microsoft office programs are the default opener of office documents. And since the programs no longer exist, this causes a problem. How can I remove the option to "Open With Microsoft Office ..." so that OpenOffice is the default?
My girlfriend of over a year recently bought a Toshiba laptop. Don't know much about it for I have not seen it myself. 3GB of RAM. Anyway, it's a Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. She has Microsoft Office 2007 pre-installed on it. Now, it's asking for a Product Key, which she does not have. Why? I don't know. I guess they didn't give her a box that has one on it, or something.
So, she sent Microsoft an e-mail and is now awaiting a reply. Anything that I can (LEGALLY) do to help her figure out the Product Key? She said there is one inputed (didn't think that was a word) in the dialog window asking for it, but it says that it's incorrect.
I will say this now; I am still in high school, so forgive my stupidity. I am trying to install either 10.10 or 10.04 on a Dell 1525. It has no operating system on it, and the CD/DVD drive is nonexistent. I have tried to install 10.10 on it using a USB, with both UNetbootin and Pen Drive Linux. Using either one, both end up freezing at the "Preparing to Install" screen. When trying to install 10.04, it will not load, even after 24 hours. On the loading screen, I pressed F1 to view the terminal and got this output:

I got all downloads from their home websites, www.ubuntu.com, www.pendrivelinux.com, and www.unetbootin.sourceforge.net. I have spent all my spare time since the newest release trying to fix whatever problem there is, so does anyone know what I did wrong?
I installed office 2000 CD using wine, I did this on Ubuntu net-book remix on a NC10 using a networked CD drive. So the installation went okay, I then came to using the software, word opened and promoted me for my product key, which I entered correctly the window disappeared for a second then repaired, I entered the key again but then this caused the whole program to shut down, I have tried repairing it , reinstalling it all apart from uninstalling and reinstalling it. Which I have tried and subsequently failed
Right I got it to work, so for any looking for the solutions simply go to /home/(username)/.wine/system.reg and change the user name and the organisation either delete it or enter something, I entered my user name but I left the organisation blank but I left the quote marks that were there. Save it and the product code thingy should not appear again.
When the custom animations added to my presentation exceeds an amount and i run the preview, my computer freezes. I have never had such problem with microsoft's office. I have open office 3.2 on ubuntu 10.04. my system has 4GB of of ram, core i5 430m cpu with integrated intel graphics. is this phenomenon natural? is it duo to my system limitations or it's an open office bug? what could i do now?
