I want to install the following command as a program and get it on startup.
cd Desktop/
sudo lkl -l -k keymaps/us_km -o log.file
and running it since the computer starts up until it's shut down.
How can I do it?

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to switch over to Ubuntu. I have downloaded the OS to my computer but can't figure out how to put it on my USB flashdrive as directed. It shows how use your USB flashdrive using Windows, Mac and Ubuntu but when I read the instructions for Ubuntu, opensuse does not have the program Startup Disk Creator.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my disc I burned for ubuntu desktop 10.10 freezes when I get to the ubuntu logo with the 5 dots. I am able to install ubuntu server just fine.
I tried to install desktop on top of server using sudo aptitude install ubuntu-desktop and then whenever I reboot it freezes during startup.
I think it might be my swap partition. I recall seeing a blip of an error talking about "press C to skip or M to start maintenence" or something like that. It never stayed on the screen long enough for me to read it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server which runs a game server. On that dedi, I had Debian installed, and I wanted to have graphical access to it so I installed Gnome and nxserver. I want the game server to run automatically when the server boots up and have it appear in a console window when I connect to nxserver. So I added it in the Startup list by going in System > Administration > Session.
My problem is that the program doesn't start when the system boots up, but only when I connect to nxserver. So I assume it is something like gnome not starting up or opening a session until I open one remotely or something such.
But is there anyway to have that game server start in a console window when the system starts up? I tried using init.d but the problem is that it doesn't open any window, and I need to interact with the server through the console. What can I do?
I have installed Debian Jessie 8.0.3 64-bit net install on a MSI CX620. Installation went fine but trying to boot it up the first time nothing but a black screen shows up. I've tried:
Holding shift on startup - Nothing
Press down all keys - Not much, only ctrl+alt+delete makes the screen turn off and then on again.
I'm thinking that I had secure boot on which I now after installation see could be a problem, but I didn't think it would be a problem as I could just go into bios and turn it off, but seeing now that I can't even go into bios it may be a problem.
What program is good to install to partition my PC after installation (I installed without a partition). Also, any quick tips in partitioning? Lastly, I have an old Ubuntu installed together w/XP on another PC. I want to install Xubuntu to replace the old Ubuntu, using the same partition. Is that possible?
