Just got the latest Updates which included Firefox 3.5.7I open FF on this machine and all I get is the attached imageWhen I try to expand it, all I get is a blank screen...I have updated 6 other machines without this issueI recall this happening one time before but I cannot recall the fix

Firefox 3.6 "Namoroka" stopped working after a recent update. Clicking on my panel launcher or the launcher in the applications menu does nothing. I even tried starting Firefox from the terminal and got an error message: "(firefox-bin:3592): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times", whatever that means.I would be willing to rip out Firefox and start all over again but I don't know how to remove the 3.6 version. I couldn't find a method in the Software Center for doing that graphically.

I have also observed that the preference part of firefox is under edit tab which is not in case of window's (Its under tools). How would I upgrade my firefox?

Not sure what's happened here, I can only put it down to one of the daily updates.Chromium has stopped running, it starts, flashes on the screen and shuts down. I haven't done or changed anything as far as I know.I've unistalled it completely using Synaptic and reinstalled but no go.

I built the system ~2 months ago and have successfully been running a list of cronjobs.
The jobs last ran on 5/31/11 at 7:35am. Since then none of the jobs have run.
I see "cron" in the process list when I run ps.
My firefox has stopped adding .com to the end of addresses entered I've tried reseting about:config settings (prefix suffix etc) still no joy...
View 7 Replies View Relatedi first noticed it while running VLC when at least one of my keyboard hotkeys stopped working. I tried reassigning the key and then reinstalling the packages from SPM and it failed (using kow's ppa) then i did a clean uninstall and reinstall from A/R programs, which didnt fix anything. then later i had problems typing in firefox, specifically with the number pad (the hotkey i'm referring to is also part of the number pad) something makes me think it's my keyboard or keyboard driver, i've been keeping up with the updates for Jaunty, including the most recent kernel update.

I don't know why but suddenly Firefox has stopped playing any of the Vimeowebsite videos. I am assuming it has to do with some recent software update (no clue which one.)First of all I want to see if anyone else is having this problem. View 6 Replies View Relatedover the last couple of weeks, firefox has asked to be upgraded a few times. shockwave flash has also asked to be upgraded. sometime last week after upgrading shockwave flash all video stopped. so i have no videos, video in webpages just shows a grey box, with a light grey arrow.i have been very busy so i have taken time here and there to check the internet for solutions. there appear to have been problems with macs' and a lot of the problems appear to be from august 2009 onwards,am not sure it is the same problem.i am running opensuse 11.1mozilla firefox 3.6.10shockwave flash 10.1 r82 is enabled

On two Centos5 servers, yum gives a segmentation fault error when trying 'yum update' or 'yum check-update' after running 'yum clean' :

The error is the same for the other computer except while attempting to update the rpmforge repository. Nothing has really changed on the servers in some time and 'yum update' worked fine on each yesterday and I have no idea why they would both suddenly fail!
Today i made an update using Webmin, and after that php stopped working, instead of running the files it launches a download. So i checked what was going on, and php module was disabled in apache config. When trying to enable it, it said the file "/usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp5.so" did not exist, and indeed it disapeared. I tried to reinstal php and apache (with and without --purge, through apt) and it didn't solved the problem.
Also i tried copying the file from another machine, also without success (this time it shows " Apache is running a threaded MPM, but your PHP Module is not compiled to be threadsafe. You need to recompile PHP.") Dont know what to do now, im kinda desperated here because this machine hosts my website =P
Basically what seems to have happened is after the recent Ubuntu update my Windows partition became unbootable (or maybe just removed from Grub). This wasn't a problem for a while though as I still had access to my files through Ubuntu.After a couple of weeks of using Ubuntu I needed to get into Windows, trying to (blindly) fix the problem I think what I did was open up Disk Manager in Ubuntu, clicked the Vista partition and marked it as bootable. Having done this some sort of error occured (can't remember what exactly) and after a reboot the partition is no longer accessible via Ubuntu.
I've read through a fair amount of similar posts and tried anumber of solutions but haven't had any luck so I thought someone here might be able to shed a bit more light on to my situation?Realistically, my main concern is getting data off the drive, if I can do that I can wipe the entire thing clean

I have it connected to the home network via a Trendnet TE100-P21 Print Server, and setup has always been straightforward and easy. The whole setup has worked quite well with Fedora 9 or 10 thru 14, but then stopped working within the last couple of weeks. I'm assuming an update broke something, as I can find no other reason. When I send a print job or test page, I get a Print Error dialog. The print que shows a "stopped" status for the job. In the Error dialog I use the Diagnose button and step through until I get the Status Messages dialog, which informs me: "The printer's state message is: 'Data file sent successfully'".
Then I enable debugging and send a test page. Stepping through the dialogs it tells me it cannot detect a problem, and gives me an error log, which I've attached. The Trendnet server has a web admin interface. In that interface I can send a test page successfully. Also, I can open a VirtualBox (Windows XP) in Fedora 14, and successfully print from it. My print setup in Fedora is the same as it has been for several years now, and nothing has changed on that end. I have rebooted Fedora and the Trendnet server. All other computers/OS's on the network have no problem printing, only this Fedora 14, and only recently.
How can I make the security applet stop showing an update for firefox 3.5.9? I have a more recent version installed from mozilla repo: firefox 3.6. The mozilla repo already has a higher priority (95 instead of 99), so I don't know what to do.

Since a week or two, clicking a link to a pdf file will not load in Firefox. I tried removing Adobe Reader and reinstalling it. Then the pdf files loaded, but now again they will not load. It just stopped working! No error messages.
It worked fine with 8.04, although it wasn't as loud as it usually is with windows, but since I've updated its stopped working. When plugging the headphones in, a little sound comes through for a second when halfway plugged in, then nothing when fully plugged.
Any idea on how to fix this?
I've been running ubuntu on my Asus 1001ha netbook for half a year or so. I ran Karmic for at while, wifi working and all, accepted the recommended updates when Update Manager popped up and everything was fine until one day I let Update Manager do it's thing and my wifi stopped working.. Lycid had just come out that same week, so I thought "screw it" and installed 10.04 instead..
So I've been running 10.04 for a couple of months now, everything working fine, including the wifi - until today.. Update Manager suggested some upgrades, I accepted and *pouf* my wifi is gone again..
That's the second time Update Manager knocks out my wifi, any way to roll back todays update or how to the the wifi working again?
My mouse wheel stopped working after a package manager update.I'm still running 8.04 (yeah, yeah, I know, will be updating soon). I can't seem to find a "package manager update history" so I can see what got updated when I did that just today (changes can't be more than 24h old).I tried rebooting/cold boot just in case.I check xorg.cfg, but it hasn't changed since march of 2008, so I figure nothing overrode the config.

I have been running 10.04 in dual boot with Vista on a Toshiba Satellite A215 for the last 4 or 5 months. Last night I did a standard update and when I turned my computer on this morning I was given the standard prompt for Vista or Ubuntu. Every time I select Ubuntu the computer just restarts and gives me the same prompt.I have been looking over the forums, but most of the fixes seem to be done in Ubuntu, which I can't get into. I am fairly sure that it is an issue with GRUB. Does anybody know how to fix this problem from windows?
