View 4 RepliesI configured it to use IMAP to access our exchange 2010 server front end on a LAN connection. Our webmail connection is segregated behind Forefront, so it was not connecting/authing that way. Even though smartphones have no problem. (sidenote, is there an activesync linux mail client ?)
I have many root folders and several folders underneath my inbox. total mailsize in inbox is 3.5 GB without subfolders. The sent is likewise as large. And is likewise empty.
Things I checked already:
View is all
Folder subscription is on and local copy is on

Thunderbird worky fine.
But thunderbird is missing calender
Tried adding lightening, but it won't add into thunderbird.
Will try finding a diff add on, or if anyone knows how to get lightening into thunderbird 3.1.8 on ubuntu 10 that would be great as well.
I've just upgraded Kubuntu from Lucid to Maverick and, as i've added the backports repo, I also upgraded KDE from 4.5.1 to 4.5.2It mostly went fine, but there's one little annoyance i've noticed. I used to be able to drag an mplayer video around the screen by clicking anywhere on it, but since the upgrade that doesn't work any more and I now have to drag the title bar specifically
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed 10.04.2 Desktop. Full install, reformatted all partitions. Hardware: Dell Optiplex GX200 with Dell 781p monitor Dell mouse and kybd.
All appeared to install well and as expected.
The computer has locked up 4 times, now. Whenever I attempt to use the mouse to drag a window to a different place on the desktop the monitor goes half black (bottom half of screen) and I loose the ability to use the mouse or keyboard to provide input. The only recourse is to shut it down hard and boot up again.
I find that changing the window size is extremely difficult. The area to click and then drag is very tiny and requires very precise arrow positioning. Is there a way to increase this area?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I click the window with the left mouse button my window gets dragged, instead that the GUI elements are getting selected.
For example: Opening Firefox and selecting the address field doesn't activate the field to write in. Clicking buttons is impossible. Any action in the window seems like blocked. I'm working this around by holding Shift + Left mouse button; then it's possible to activate the GUI element. Observation: This happened just today when I switched on my computer and seems to affect only me as my user! Logging in as another user doesn't bring up this error. Everything works as usual as possible. The Gnome Panel is not affected. Closing, minimizing/maximizing windows is possible. Clicking anywhere on the window with the right mouse button opens the window options menu, not the expected options. Hovering over a button seems to be recognized as it changes its properties, but clicking still drags the window. Restarting X and restarting Ubuntu doesn't change anything.

Since I have upgraded to to 10.10, I've noticed that I can no longer drag programs to another desktop. Somehow this setting must have been disabled. How does one reactive this setting? (I'm guessing its Compiz related...)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bit of a problem w/ the windowing UI when I drag any window left, the display gets messed up (see attached screen shot). It doesn't matter what the program is, even happens in explorer. I've done some searching of the Internetz and this form and all I could find was this bug, that doesn't have any updates on it:
Does anyone know of a fix for this? I can make the lines go away by triggoring a repaint (by either dragging another window on top of this one or minimizing and maximizing the problem window, but it's still a bit annoying.I'm running Fedora 14 and have ran all of the updates it prompted me to run.
KDE and Windows7 both have a nice feature/setting that lets you maximize a window to half the screen by dragging it to the left or right edge of the screen.
Edit: Use Compiz Grid:
Code:
sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-plugins-extra
I'm fairly new to ubuntu and I've been messing around with customizing my desktop/UI over the past week or so and I must have messed something up. After I got sick of how slow Wallpapoz was to change backgrounds between workspaces (I'm using GNOME) I turned on the Wallpaper plugin in Compiz and turned off the nautilus desktop. That worked great for the backgrounds but now whenever I try to drag windows around the cursor shudders and shakes and the wondows won't move smoothly. I eventually get them to where I want them to go but it's very annoying.
So far, I have re-enabled the nautilus desktop and reinstalled nautilus with synaptic, neither of which did anything.
While attempting to download an epub file, I chose "open with the ebook widget" and to run rather than save and then clicked the box which says "always chose to do this and don't show this window again" (or something equivalent). The operation failed to bring up the file in the widget and the window no longer appears so I cannot try something else, e.g. "save".
How do I recover the original setting? (i.e. untick the box on the window that now does not appear).
I am using the latest Mint on a multi-booted DELL Studio 1740 notebook.
Show me the content of your linux live cd running linux with it. (The thing is we are using a live USB, is it possible with a usb, how to do it, otherwise I tell everyone to burn a live CD, if it is possible with a live CD and not with a USB (= normally not loaded in bios in windows usb = plug&play).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI"m running 10.04 on a netbook. I switched my Java look and feel to Nimbus and now my java application opens with most of the buttons and window content missing. The main menu is there, but otherwise the main form is mostly blank. If I restart the application (not my computer) 2-3 times, the problem is resolved until the next time I have to launch the java app. I did not see this issue before changing the look & feel setting for Java. But the GTK l&F doesn't work for other reasons, so I was forced to make a change.
I'm running compiz and I know the blank windows in Java apps was a common problem a while back. I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is related to that old problem or is something different.
Hello. I'm using natty with fglrx (installed via jockey) in a gnome classic session. Suddendly today, window contents started to not refreshing (for example when scrolling a window, or clicking on a link or switching tabs in firefox and chrome). What can I do to troubleshoot things?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to write a C/C++ program, that would grab content of window (in form of pixmap), which belongs to another application and do something with it. However, I ran into problems already at the beginning. In all toolkits I have searched through, I only found one function that claims to do what I want, namely XGetImage from Xlib. However, among other parameters like Display, coordinates, etc., it requires a Drawable. How do I specify a Drawable, that would correspond to the window I want to grab content of? Is there any easier way to achieve this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know the trick to getting Ubuntu to show the contents of a window while I resize it? It WAS doing this until I loaded up the drivers for my Nividia Quador 135M (works great!) I'm very happy with my Ubuntu 9.10, I even have all the bouncy window effects running.
Still, I would love get rid of the "faded blue resizing box" and see the contents instead.
The little window that pops up if you download something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Ubuntu 10.04 and I use a left panel to show window selector.
I have the problem that Window Selector continuously change the window list from one column to two columns of windows icons.
It is so impossible to click on a window icon to select it.
I've tried to set the size to larger and different sizes. I've tried to show or hide the panel. I've tried to group or ungroup windows.
Is there a way to tell windows selector to stay in one column windows list?
Vidalia control panel has no check box for "show this window on startup". Is there a way using linux commands to stop it from popping up or would I need to change something else?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs you probably noticed, the "Light" themes (Ambiance and Radiance) as well as quite a few other gtk themes now enable moving windows by grabbing the menubar, which is quite useful with the unified titlebar/menubar style of certain themes.
So does anyone know of any way I can force Firefox to behave the same way.
I would prefer to do it through userChrome.css rather than adding an extension but whatever works.
Firefox is the only non-gtk app I use extensively so I'm not too bothered about any other apps that don't follow the behaviour.
When I click and drag - Both Window Title Bars and text selection- the mouse acts as I have released the button and drops the click and the window/text selection is left in middle of nowhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Natty and I'm thoroughly enjoying Unity, but I've noticed that when I close Banshee, so that it is still playing music in the background, I can't drag any other window out of maximization state. btw, I don't know if "dragging out of maximization" sounds ambiguous, I mean to say that I drag the top panel and the window stops being maximized (yes, i just tried to bastardize a bastardization).
