I have changed nothing about the configuration of my checkgmail except for the icons. And yet, whenever I click on the subject of an email, it gives me a 404 error. When I use the links (delete, spam, archive, mark read) it does what it is supposed to do, but it does not allow me to view the content of a message. Does anybody have any idea of what could be causing this strange behavior? Gnome. 10.04. x64.

Basically what the title says. I used to be able to click links in messages through checkgmail, but then I had to reinstall it and now I can no longer click links.

But all of a sudden, I see a pop-up windowtating: incorrect username or password. No matter how many times I enter my usernamend password the window keeps coming back demanding for the same. My system is up to date and I've rebooted my system a few times, but the problem persists.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSystem was fine with :Ubuntu 9.04 (had also installed kde )then....I wanted to try some change to gdm so i downloaded gdm while building it , it asked "PAM" libraries to be installed so i installed PAM ... but ignored the instruction to reinstall SHADOW (library i guess..),Now :on booting system i get login menu but i am not able to login , it says some critical error occured
1) install new copy of UBUNTU and remove old
ps :1) i can log into system through live cd
2) i can use recovery mode boot and log into terminal as root(startx is not working from this terminal..
i'm not sure why, but when i click these functions gmail simply idles through them. has anyone had similar issues with the application?

I did a simple apt-get update/upgrade for which the system requested a reboot. After I rebooted, I got to the login prompt, at which point I ran into a problem. After I enter my correct credentials, it spits out the following error:
sh: error while loading shared libraries libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: Error 24
and returns me to the login prompt. Samba and Subversion are both still working, I simply can't login to the server either physically or via SSH.
What steps should I be taking to correct this issue? My thoughts are that I may need to use a Live CD to load the system and perhaps do another update, but before I go through that process I just wanted to check in and see if there might be some other solution.
I have tried googling the issue, and while I have seen other posts regarding shared library issues, there was never anything about not being able to login and I never did find anything specific to the error message I received.
I'm getting this error when I try to login: GLib can't find the user in list [0] or something like that. This happens when I try to login using the graphical method. It logins properly when in failsafe mode. I'm using Lucid, and this happens after the hard drive load is shown in the splash screen following the login screen. It just jumps back to the login screen after this.

Ubuntu came back to the login splash screen-I selected my login and entered my Correct password-Ubuntu splashed up screen writting (Unable to read as its to quick) and Ubuntu then returns to the login screen. Incidently when I enter an incorrect password Ubuntu tells me that it is incorrect but with my correct password it just returns to the login splash screen.

It tells me that 'Power manager is still running' and gives me options of 'logout anyway' or 'cancel' (I'm writing this from memory, so may have got the wording slightly wrong). Clicking 'logout anyway', then continues with the login process, with no further problems (as an aside, I am running a desktop, so I'm not sure that Power Manager has much to do anyway.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have multiple computers set up in my home (self education on networking) with one used as the main machine, and the others set up as a variety of server types. The main machine is running Lucid, as gui based os. The others are all running the server version. NO Domain controller is installed, no DNS server is installed.
ALL of the server machines boot to a login prompt, allow user name and password entry, and then will fail to login with a timeout error. After anywhere from 8-15 tries, the login will eventually succeed. Error also occurs when logging in via ssh.
I setup opensuse 11.2 with lamp. I then installed the lastest version of phpmyadmin. All works great except I get an alert at the bottom of my phpmyadmin login page along the lines of "...cannot load mcrypt setting" I created a phpinfo.php page and I don't see any info on mcrypt. Doesn't appear to be installed. Is this an issue with my lamp setup or with phpmyadmin. I have read differing views. Some say its related to php others to phpmyadmin. Can anyone give me instruction on how to install and, if needed, configure mcrypt?

I have a Fedora Core 6 web server I've been testing. Everything was working fine(http, mysql, etc) until I installed Shorewall. After a reboot, now I get "(NONE): LOGIN" From what I've googled on this, this isn't an uncommon error, but I don't see any consistent way to correct this issue. Everyone just says boot single user and change roots pw. But thats where I run into problems. When I log in single user mode and try to run "passwd" to change root pw, I get "module not found". I've tried running vi(vim) to edit /etc/passwd but I also get an error about a library file missing. So, I'm at the point of thinking about reinstalling FC6. I'm assuming I should upgrade to a new version of FC. If I do this, will it "break" http and mysql? What version would be safest to upgrade to from FC6? Would it be better to just reinstall FC6 on top of whats there?

I was having a problem with the keyring asking me for a password after I changed my user password. I googled it and found that since the password changed, I will get asked for the keyring password until I delete ~/.gnome2/keyrings/login.keyring. What happened was that I wasn't paying attention that you had to generate a new keyring password before rebooting.
