Software :: Cannot Uninstall Flash-plugin From Yast - Deleted Flash-Plugin Directory
Aug 15, 2010In my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.
I am running SUSE 11.2.
Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.

Feb 18, 2010Why is everything with this ubuntu so complex and difficult? This operating system turns the act of installing/uninstalling into a huge task. Just yesterday I installed the beta release of flash 10.1, I thought that it went into my firefox folder, but I checked firefox 3.5.7 plugins and it isn't there. So my question is, where on earth could it have possibly gone? Terminal said that it installed somewhere on my home directory, but I've been searching everywhere and I can't find anything. I know it's there because videos require flash work. where is my home directory, and what is it? I'm using ubuntu 9.10.

Jan 12, 2010got my wifi up and running after my upgrade to karmic (wired connection and wicd install), but now when i try to load up anything from synaptic or add/remove programs its prompting me for the installation disc, the problem being i installed karmic through a flash drive.

Nov 12, 2009when i updated to 9.10, flash stopped working properly. essentially, it wouldn't accept any clicks. i could press spacebar to pause videos videos, but anything involving the mouse wouldn't work. "on hover" functions seem to work (the play/pause button glows when i hover the cursor over it), but the "on release" functions do nothing.

but now firefox crashes with a segfault every time flash is used.
is there a way i can downgrade back to 9.04 as easily as i upgraded to 9.10?

Jan 3, 2010K i've been running Karmic for a month or so, (I recently switched from Mint) and I love it except that anything flash related is terribly slow. I figure it's a Karmic problem since I'm currently looking at another laptop with a slower processor and slower graphics card running windows run the flash approximately a bajillion times faster. I am wondering if it's something do with a driver problem, or configuration, namely "EXA" to "UXA" but when I try to open xorg.conf it's completely blank.

Oct 3, 2010I installed Boxee on my 64bit install. I had to edit the DEB so it did not install Flash, because Ubuntu still insists on installing the 32bit version which always borks Firefox.
But now I cant run synaptic without getting complaints of broken packages. I just want to blacklist boxee from from annoying the hell out of me, but keep it installed. How do I go about doing that?

I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.
