Software :: Cannot Uninstall Flash-plugin From Yast - Deleted Flash-Plugin Directory

Aug 15, 2010

In my frustration to get adobe flash working in firefox I deleted the /usr/lib/flash-plugin folder. Now when I try to uninstall "Flash-Plugin" from YAST it fails as it can't find the sub-folder. I also cannot install the latest version of flash player as it says that it is already installed - So I am stuck in a loop.

I am running SUSE 11.2.

Is there a config file of installed programs that I can modify to remove the "Flash-Plugin" entry, or is there another way to get over this problem.

Ubuntu :: How To Uninstall Beta Version Of Adobe Flash 10.1

Feb 18, 2010

Why is everything with this ubuntu so complex and difficult? This operating system turns the act of installing/uninstalling into a huge task. Just yesterday I installed the beta release of flash 10.1, I thought that it went into my firefox folder, but I checked firefox 3.5.7 plugins and it isn't there. So my question is, where on earth could it have possibly gone? Terminal said that it installed somewhere on my home directory, but I've been searching everywhere and I can't find anything. I know it's there because videos require flash work. where is my home directory, and what is it? I'm using ubuntu 9.10.

Ubuntu :: Flash Input Not Working In Karmic ?

Nov 12, 2009

when i updated to 9.10, flash stopped working properly. essentially, it wouldn't accept any clicks. i could press spacebar to pause videos videos, but anything involving the mouse wouldn't work. "on hover" functions seem to work (the play/pause button glows when i hover the cursor over it), but the "on release" functions do nothing.

i tried using the fix from this website--

[url]

but it didn't do anything at all. then i tried this script--

[url]

but now firefox crashes with a segfault every time flash is used.

is there a way i can downgrade back to 9.04 as easily as i upgraded to 9.10?

Software :: Flash Ridiculously Slow In Karmic

Jan 3, 2010

K i've been running Karmic for a month or so, (I recently switched from Mint) and I love it except that anything flash related is terribly slow. I figure it's a Karmic problem since I'm currently looking at another laptop with a slower processor and slower graphics card running windows run the flash approximately a bajillion times faster. I am wondering if it's something do with a driver problem, or configuration, namely "EXA" to "UXA" but when I try to open xorg.conf it's completely blank.

the upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04 has proved to be an unmitigated disaster for my netbook. I have no menus! Nothing at the top (i.e. the usual Gnome desktop with "Browse and run installed applications," "Applications," "Places," "System") and no Unity buttons available wherever I put the cursor.Plus, when the system goes to sleep and I press the power button to revive it, it reboots! I don't understand how v. 11.04 is an improvement over v. 10.10.

how I can uninstall v 11.04 -- bearing in mind I have no menus -- so I can reinstall v. 10.10?
