I am using F13, and I successfully installed Adobe Flash Player.
So, here comes the problem - I installed Google Chrome browser after that, and whenever I try to view flash content it says "missing plugin".

I'm trying to load the flash stuff in webpages, but it says i need the flash plugin.
I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.
Everytime I try to install Adobe Flash, I have problems. I go the RPM route or the YUM route and still have problems. I've even tried yum a 2nd time and it says its already installed, but if I go to a website that requires Flash, it says pluggin missing. On the other hand, if I go and install JAVA it somehow installs the pluggins and everything works from there on. Can someone tell me what I'm missing on the original install ?

I have installed flashplayer to my fedora and tried to watch videos which need flashplayer but it wont start. Its seems like my system have installed flashplayer but can't find plugin from mozilla. Tried to check if plugin exists but no. Tried to install it again but no.. same problem again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried the "rpm", the "yum", and the "tar.gz" from the adobe site. Both rpms installed fine but I still can't view flash content in Firefox (missing plugin). The .tar.gz contained a .so file, but the installation instructions for the flash player said I should see an installer file in the .tar.gz, but I do not. I can't believe I can't even get flash player working. Their instructions said to check under "Help > About Plugins" but obviously Firefox does not and has never had such an option. I hate Adobe.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just moved to Fedora and absolutely love it so far. I have two questions... 1st, are there any other software managers available besides the default one? I could not find them. 2nd, I am having the worst time installing flash. It seems like it is not installed by default. The first time I installed fedora was about a week ago and afterwards I installed flash and it worked. Later on I erased everything from my computer and reinstalled fedora although now I cannot add flash to save my life. I've tried a bunch of different links with directions on how to do it but I cannot figure it out this time.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Fedora 11 on my Sony Vaio laptop. I couldn't stand Windows Vista any longer. I installed Fedora 11 just fine with no issues. But I seem to be having trouble installing programs such as Adobe Flash Player, Reader, Limewire, Java pluggin, etc. Everytime I try to install these, it says for example "Could not display "/home/blackout87gn/Download/jre-6u16-linux-i586-rpm.bin". This was for the Java file I downloaded. I made sure that all these files I downloaded were for Linux. So being the newb that I am, can someone point me in the right direction on how to install these applications? Also what does .rpm .bin .deb and .tar.gz represent?

I have installed the flash-plugin using yum. Restarted firefox but still not able to play ..... videos.

But I am not able to see it in the plugins list, when I goto Tool >> add-ons >> plugins. I tried about login in the browser address bar, got the list, but its a lot of details, which one would tell me that the adobe flash player is installed. Later I downloaded the tar file and unzipped it and manually placed the .so file in the plugin folder as mentioned in the forums, but no luck.

I have been installing these updates on Fedora 12 and so far, my computer now has 3 more fedora sub-versions "not sure if that IS their name". So when I first boot the pc, the 3 versions appear. Normally, that wouldn't seem like a problem "although I don't know why don't the new ones simply delete the old ones"..However, the new ones don't work. Only the oldest form which I installed through a CD is the one that works. The others just cause the computer screen to flash a couple of times and freezes.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi've noticed lately that when scrolling, the video "tears" and moves along with my scrolling on sites such as videos, when it should be fixed in position. note that it doesn't actually move perfectly and is flickery/cropped while scrolling. i have all the latest updates (10.10) and notice it in both chromium and firefox, so it's either the window manager or ati driver.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a netbook (VPC) which is basic netbook with limited features. It has a basic version of Linux (Linux 2.6.24 platform). My instruction booklet says it does not support Flash (player): Flash - The current browser does not support any Flash players. This will prevent viewing some web pages. Certain major websites have a simplified version on the server which will load up. When I try to play games in flash, it does not work either. Browsing on the web also is very limited, I only see mobile (cell phone) versions? (the instruction booklet does state this though) I cannot even put favorites? Is there a way that I can get Flash installed or a better browser? So I can play games that are on Facebook, etc.? and view websites like a "normal" human being should be viewing them on the web?
This is what I figured out so far:

I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Slackware64 13.1, it works fine, but I have no Flash in my browsers. I had downloaded and installed Google Chrome, took some work, but got it working, only no Flash support. Believing this to be a problem with Chrome, I tried in FireFox, and again, no Flash support. I downloaded Opera, the same, Konqueror, ditto. I downloaded the latest Flash, (Just the libflashplayer.so in the package, isn't that a little weird?) and put it in /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins and tried Firefox again, no luck. I downloaded the latest version, installed it, but it keeps saying "firefox-bin: no such file or directory" even though it is clearly there. There is something not quite right here, and I can't seem to figure it out.

I have tried to uninstall everything flash on both of them and then downloading flash from Adobe and reinstalling. I am using 11.4 with Gnome3 and multimedia pack.When playing flash videos in the browser if I click fullscreen, the video plays full screen behind the browser window. It does not happen always and it has not happened with ..... yet.
