View 2 RepliesI used Windows so far. I want to install the organ emulator Aeolus. To be able to use it, I installed Fedora 14 (dual boot). I learned, that you have to compile it for use. I therefore downloaded several packages (aeolus-0.8.4-1.fc13.ccrma.i686.rpm, aeolus-0.8.4-1.fc13.ccrma.i686.src.rpm and libraries) and followed installation docs, but it did not work. Neither the rpm command nor the make command using the source worked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a ps3 controller that i would like to use with the emulator software that i have found for linux. i hear that game pads have worked in linux before but i found nothing that explains on how to do this. i don't want to use it wirelessly though i want to use it via usb.
View 4 Replies View RelatedBasically i want it so that the analogue stick on my PS2 controller, which connects via a USB adaptor and is recognized, correctly controls in game characters. It seems to work fine enough in platformers, at least it does with Banjo Kazooie, but with games like perfect Dark it seem to be trying to move forward and look down at the same time, also backward and look up simultaneously and look sideways and move sideways simultaneously , rendering the game all but unplayable.
I have tried running jscal and, apart from the fact that it seems a bit beyond me, it reports "jscal: missing devicename" when i try to run "jscal -c". Do others out there have there analogue sticks working correctly with games like Perfect Dark, or the James Bond games, for example?
I am designing a program called "Microcom", a VERY tiny terminal "emulator" (more like a serial console). I am making it specifically to work with uClibc to use as a serial console for my floppy disk distro.
Problem is, it works fine receiving data but it does not send any data.
I am stumped at why it does not send data!

I bought a used server and it's in great working condition, but I've got a 2-part problem with the onboard raid controller. I don't have or use RAID and want to figure out how to stop or work around the onboard SATA raid controller. First some motherboard specs.: Arima HDAMA 40-CMO120-A800 [URL]... The 4-port integrated Serial ATA Integrated SiliconImage Sil3114 raid controller is the problem.
Problem 1: When I plug in my SATA server hard drive loaded with Slackware 12.2 and linux kernel 2.6.30.4, the onboard raid controller recognizes the one drive and allows the OS to boot. Slackware gets stuck looking for a raid array and stops at this point -........
I'm not all that familiar with what it is that the expensive SATA cards do, other than providing on-board cache and many ports, but all things considered what can't a CPU and lot's-o-RAM do that an expensive SATA card can? This assumes, of course, that you weren't planning on using the CPU to run other applications (i.e. a SAN type setup).
View 11 Replies View RelatedI can not get the node or cloud controllers to startup using the init.d scripts. I have a fresh install of CentOS 5.4 with Eucalyptus 1.6.2 I have compiled Eucalyptus and all packages using the RPM supplied from Eucalyptus and utilizing yum installer. I do not currently have any processes or applications listening currently on the ports on the boxes as well. I think it may be a permissions issue or something because I get a "permission denied error", but I am not sure if it is Eucalyptus or CentOS. It looks as if it is not binding to the address on the interface of the NIC. It may be something else however. I have the Node controller, Cloud controller, and Cluster controller on seperate physical boxes. When I try to run either the cloud controller or the node controller I get this message:
Cloud Controller:

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert a CD, the system no longer offers to automount it and CDs no longer show up in the list of disks on the left side of Dolphin windows. USB keys still work properly and I can still manually mount CDs through the command line? Was there some tweak to the HAL rules that disabled CD/DVD automounting and is there any way to fix this?

The problem is, I can't find where Mupen64Plus stores these save files, and the .mupen64plus folder won't show up at all in my home folder, and even on my file system. For adjustment of volumes, use your favorite mixer.
But my song don't work, ..... works, but no sound in that, and i have tried running alsamixer to raise the volume to the peak.
I have a vague idea that, this sound card has difficulty in linux but all I get is 3 year old patches for gutsy gibbon and fixes that are non-slackware so I dont have the files and what not.
I have been trying, but never seem to understand why it says it works when it doesnt work.
Oh turns out, from thinkwiki, [url]
Its AD1984 actually, and it didn't work on 2.6.24.2 mine is 2.6.29.2 .
I opened KPackageKit in my new Fedora system. I want to get wine. The description says "A Windows 16/32/64 bit emulator". But wine stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi just installed 10.04 and everything works fine except that it does not recognize my external cd/dvd rom and my usb flash drives, I already found some threads related to this and they that talk about going to config editor and activating these options: media_auto_run and automount_open.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the count of number of CD-ROMs attached with my Linux system using a bash shell script. I have decided to use the following method for it:
Code:
debian:~# cat /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info | grep "drive name:"
drive name: sr0 hdb
So basically I know that there are two CD-ROMs attached to the system. Now there can be three also like this:
Code:
debian:~# cat /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info | grep "drive name:"
drive name: sr0 sr1 hdb
All I want to do is in my shell script to get the count of the devices in a variable using the above command.
At the school i work in i have a server2k3 server that provides a domain to all the windows clients, aswell as a fedora server that acts as an imaging machine and webserver.
Im rather concious of the fact that if for any reason the Server2k3 server was to die there is no backup of active directory, or anything that can take its place whilst a replacement is found.
So is it possible to use a fedora machine with samba as a secondary domain controller? so it can be used as a login server, and has a copy of AD.
i using wine windows windows compatibility layer(beta release) , i tried ride(micro controller and micro prosser simulator)open with wine , but it not work properly..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMost of the really popular packages (Skype, ooVoo, Dragon Naturally Speaking, etc) are available for Microsoft and Apple platforms but not Linux/Ubuntu. Wine doesn't seem to bring much joy for running these reliably. So my question is - is there a Mac emulator? That would seem a good way to go since apple also use a unix variant and presumably the emulator would be a lot more compatible/reliable?
