Setup: Ubuntu 10.04 (Fresh Clean Install) AMD64 Desktop - Using Firefox 3.6.9 with Flash Player Plugin
Problem: I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
After researching for many How To's and install scripts I finally came across one that worked for my particular setup:
I got the script from the following link:
This installed successfully and I can watch videos but cannot interface with the plugin. I.E. I cannot change volume, fullscreen, progress bar adjust, etc.
I read that changes are in progress to update the 64 bit Flash Plugin for Mozilla, could this be a bug people have reported?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed slackware64 13.0 and I cant get flash working in konqueror.
First I tried downloading the .tar.gz from the adobe website and moving libflashplayer.so into ~/.mozilla/plugins (I had to make the directory first since firefox isnt installed). That didn't work, I even rebooted but still nothing I also went into konqueror's settings>configure konqueror>plugins and choose scan for plugins, but nothing happens. It doesn't even seem to respond when i click the button.
Next I removed the .mozilla directory that I made earlier and tried installing multimedia/flash-player-pl from slackbuilds with sbopkg, but same issues as before. Tried rebooting, tried scanning for plugins, nothing.
i downloaded adobe flash player multiple times but flash movies still not working what do

I have installed the flash-plugin using yum. Restarted firefox but still not able to play ..... videos.
[root@saurav tonan]# yum install flash-plugin
Loaded plugins: download only, presto, refresh-packagekit
Setting up Install Process
Package flash-plugin-10.0.42.34-release.i386 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
But I am not able to see it in the plugins list, when I goto Tool >> add-ons >> plugins. I tried about login in the browser address bar, got the list, but its a lot of details, which one would tell me that the adobe flash player is installed. Later I downloaded the tar file and unzipped it and manually placed the .so file in the plugin folder as mentioned in the forums, but no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get flashplayer to work. I was using it in Ice Weasel, and it stopped working. I tried the newest flashplayer as well as the Beta from Adobe labs. I can now use flash, but not in full screen.
I'm not sure what the best alternative is. I tried to use Konqueror. I have konqueror-nsplugins installed, and told Konqueror where the plugin directory for flash was. That didn't work.
Now I'm trying to get gnash to work. I have been using the following pages as a guide:[url] [url]
I installed the following packages:
I can't get gnash to open through K menu. I don't have a .gnash file in my home directory. I also tried swfdec-mozilla and can't get that to work either. Do I need to uninstall flashplugin-nonfree? I'm not sure how to get gnash to work in You Tube.
You may know that there was a security release for Adobe Flash Plugin for Linux x86 but not for x86_64. There has been a development:
See : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
It works fine here. I have a Multilib Slack 13.1 stable.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have gone from having 8.04 to 11.04 in 2days. 8.04, was a bit of a glitch as I found. Unfortunately I have had worst luck lately. Adobe flash has flunked its major and I have been going off my (crappy) intuition and every flash element has been a repetitive skipping box or a black box or the equivalent of an annoying pop-up that wont close. I am currently using 11.04.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been doing periodic net-based dist upgrade since 7.10. Currently I use 9.10. Now that 10.04 is out, I want to upgrade to the latest LTS version by doing a clean install, instead of using net-based dist-upgrade.
Since I use Firefox, and Thunderbird, I want to keep the passwords/bookmarks I have stored in firefox, and mail/account settings (for multiple email accounts) that are in Thunderbird.
While I know I can copy the hidden profile directories for each, and back them up for recovery after the upgrade by copying them into the new 10.04 after install is complete, I don't know if this is recommended, prudent, or if pitfalls await me. Since I want to do a clean install, and, since 10.04 uses different versions of both Thunderbird and Firefox,
1. Would it be prudent to back up/use the existing profiles I have in 9.10, or should I bite the bullet and just start fresh with new profile setups when I finish installing 10.04? 2. Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of if I will be restoring a profile of each from 9.10?
3. Or, should I continue to do net-based dist-upgrades to 10.04 so appropriate profile changes can be made by the new versions of Thunderbird/Firefox software?
Is it safe to put my old .mozilla and .mozilla-thunderbird folders from xandros 4.2 into OSS 11.3? I have apps, emails, and settings that I would like to keep. This might seem like an over precautious question, but I've broken Xandros more than once. I would hate to do it to OSS.
