note when any contact send me cam invitation it pops up on my chat window ,i click on it but nothing happens so what's the problem
Is there a webcam support for Kopete in Fedora 11?If I follow the steps here:URL....then the 1st and 2nd steps are fine but at the 3rd step, I don't have any "send webcam" (nor receive) option in the file menu. I did have it in F8.Has this been removed in F11?Tested over the MSN protocol with ports 6891-6892 open (tcp and udp).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to enable webcam support so I'll be able to talk to people via webcam using linux (using Ubuntu 10.04). I've looked at some guides such as using Emesene messenger to no avail. Also I've tried to use Wine and install Msn Messenger 7.5, however I'm unable to type in my email address and password to login to the messenger client. I searched and read about installing some packages or whatever for wine to allow me to enter in text but to no avail. I've used the stable release of wine as well as the beta release for wine (by adding the deb url inside the software source list). I'm using empathy and there's a webcam icon next to my name under my gmail account, when I click that I can see myself just fine, but nobody can see that I have webcam support. =/ Any tips, hints, guides, direction..? I have an Asus Ul80vt and the webcam is a chicony something if that helps at all.

View 1 Replies View Related10.04 doesn't support my father's computer. I always have to switch between 4.1 surround sound and 5.1. After I change a song, or watch another video, it only plays static, then I have to go into sound preferences and change it again, until the next song. I didn't have this trouble in 9.04 on his computer. The problem now is, he actually replaced windows with Ubuntu this time, so he wants everything to work. So what software was installed in 9.04 and how do I get it to 10.04?

Not anything too professional, but I want to be able to make quality recordings without too many problems. All I'll probably end up using is a midi keyboard electric guitar and bass. But what I was wondering was, is it a better idea to get a Mac for something like that, or will Ubuntu support that just fine? I know there's great software available, and I've got used to using Jack. But I've read problems about real-time kernel support and xruns with Jack and Ardour, and I'm just wondering if that's something that will make using Ubuntu for this complicated.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been successfully using Elluminate Live online meeting space (Java-based) on previous releases of Ubuntu.By upgrading to Maverick 10.10., all audio features of that application became dysfunctional. Obviously, the Java application that is used to connect to Elluminate Live doesn't recognize audio devices (audio setup wizard of the same application doesn't list any devices).Contacting Elluminate's support didn't help because accoring to them Ubuntu 10.10 is not a supported distro for Elluminate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like this linux distribution more than the others that i have used, because is more stable for my work. But there are some little problems that I can't solve. I'm using it with a laptop HP G60 and i can run OpenOffice, Mozilla and some other programs (python, grass, qgis) that used for work at the office, but when I go home and want to watch a movie with my girl, listen some music or any other simple task, i find a lot of little problems:
1. Adjust the bright of the screen, the Power Management Guidance don't do it and I really need it.
2. Can't play movies in VLC "No suitable decoder module. VLC does not support the audio or video format XVID. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this"
3. And today I can't play music because there is a message "KDE detected that one or more internal sound devices were removed" this is: Output HDA Intel, INTEL HDMI 0 (HDMI Audio Output)
I know maybe these problems are stupid but in windows is easier to fix them. I'm tired of search in google because i just find solved problems for Ubuntu and it takes a lot of time.
After some update this morning, I can't play any video in Karmic. I've been using VLC for everything, now there is no video, only sound with the error message: p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format "h264". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this. Totem: "Can't play a text file without video."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Kopete as my IM manager with the Skype plugin. I used the One Click Install tool to install Skype4py and than I enabled Skype in Kopete. Every time I try to enable Skype within Kopete I get an error box that says, "no Skype".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running openSUSE 11.1, with KDE 4.3.00. My Kopete, version 0.70.90, disconnects and reconnects to my jabber server several times a minute.
The jabber server, running the latest version of Openfire, is on the same gigabit subnet as the openSUSE machine in question. I can successfully connect to other IM services (MSN, Yahoo, etc) with no trouble. I also have no trouble with any other network service, from NFS to IMAP. I have other (Windows / Miranda IM) clients connecting to this same jabber server, all without trouble.
It drives me nuts, and it drives everyone else on my buddy list nuts too, as they see constant offline/online notifications for my user.
Just that, kopete keeps crashing and crashing all the day like two times per hour, in my two lappys.
My Aspire one with openSUSE at 32bits, and my HP with openSUSE at 64bits.
Both, has this kde config code...
now I got a problem with kopete.. before this I'm using OpenSuSE 11.2 .. there are no problem at all... after i do the the upgrade to 11.3 and there is one issue .. always crash after I put the status ONLINE.. What should I do? a snapshot screen after I click ONLINE...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Kubuntu for a LOOONG time now, completely happily without any noticeable problems. But, on my birthday, with the help of a few contributions, I was finally able to upgrade my PC to a Core i7.
And for the most part, things are still smooth sailing. Except for Kopete, which randomly crashes at times, bring the entire beast of a PC to a halt. Basically what happens is it suddenly lets off notification gongs like a machine gun. Then there are windows that popup that say something about "Yahoo Plugin Error". And judging by the number that increases in the titlebar, it makes A LOT of those windows. But the contents of the window itself are never rendered. It usually gets up to about <105> before the entire system just freezes.
The only difference between my old system and this one, in terms of software is the change from 32 bit to 64 bit. If someone could tell me how to fix this problem, or just point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me insane!!
but i don't see how you can send a new message to someone using kopete.I use kopete with only my aim account. I want to be able to send a message to someone who is not on my buddy list.If they're on my buddylist, its easy to send a message, but nowhere in the program does it allow you to send to someone not on your buddy list
View 3 Replies View RelatedStrange problem with Kopete in Fedora 12. It works well with Google talk but does not work with Openfire - based jabber servers. Empathy works well with it so I think it is not SSL/TLS problem. Libs like qca, qca2 etc. are installed...
I like Kopete interface much more then Empaty.
I have just updated to FC 13 (64 bit), and there seems to be a problem with Jabber in Kopete. I use this to connect to the google talk servers. In FC 12 this was not a problem. However, now I recieve a message "Cannot load the Jabber protocol plugin." when trying to add a Jabber account in kopete. This happens on two separate recently upgraded machines.
I suspect the kdenetwork package shipped with FC 13 is broken in this respect.
EDIT: Updating to the kde packages from the kde-testing repository fixes this, so it looks like the package is indeed broken.
I'm trying to configure facebook im's protocol on kopete.
The thing is.. I modigy my account: enter my e-mail address, my pasword. Then, ok. And when I re-enter the screen again those fields are empty.
I can view my webcam in the configuration setting in kopete, but I'm not able to view my cam on skype, it keeps on showing a gray screen! I tried almost go through on the web about this.
