this is the error i get building gobject-introspection.
[code]...
this is the error i get building gobject-introspection.
I am trying to compile gobject-introspection-0.6.2in centOS 5.6 [Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.39-4.el5.elrepo #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Aug 4 19:58:19 EDT 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux]. When i run ./configure it checks for all dependencies and run successfully but when i run i got a error <gio/gio.h> not found. but in fact i have set the GIO_UNIX_CFLAGS in the ./configure options. The configure command is ->
./configure GIO_UNIX_CFLAGS="-I/usr/local/glib/include/gio-unix-2.0
-I/gio/usr/local/glib/include/glib-2.0
-I/usr/local/glib/lib/glib-2.0/include"[code]....
By observing the make errors, its obvious that <gio/gio.h> is not found which is in the directory /usr/local/glib/include/glib-2.0/gio and set through GIO_UNIX_CFLAGS variable.
Zattoo (TV watching application, see [URL]) used to work fine until... a couple days ago, presumably. Now the window vanishes again before anything appears other than the menu bar. From KPackagekit's history I can tell there were updates to ligbail18, libtk2.0-common. libgtk2.0-0, libgtk2.0-bin and others on Tuesday 08 June 2010 but I don't know if that was it.
Code:
$ Zattoo

Fedora 12 works well on my Acer 5920g laptop. However, about 5 minutes after switch-on, the fan comes on. Especially since the sensor output shows the system is still very cool:

Once on, the fan almost never turns off. The system is not loaded at all, almost totally idle according to top.
I would like to get rid of windows XP from my laptop. I have CloneZilla images of my root & home partitions. I have just recently scrapped Grub and switched to LILO installed to the MBR. Here are my questions:Because I installed LILO to the MBR, should I reinstall it to my Slackware root partition (or somewhere else) prior to blowing out the XP partition where, I assume, the MBR is living? Once I repartition my disk for Slackware only and 'Clonezilla back' my root and home partitions, how do I boot into Slackware? Once I successfully boot into Slackware, what do I do with LILO so that my PC boots into Slackware for ever after?

Did not find much here regarding building Gnome 2.30 from source. I'm using jhbuild to build the gnome 2.30 desktop. I have everything, to my knowledge, installed to build gnome. I get an error when trying to build the libIDL library. Anyone have any clue as to what I need installed or changed in the configuration file to build libIDL?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to install pymedia on my ubuntu 9.10 karmic distribution, but I am having a bit of a hard time doing that.I managed to install all the libraries (lame, libogg, libvorbis etc.) but when trying to run 'python setup.py build' I get an error (Shown at the end).I found on the interwebs that it may have to do with the version of gcc c++ compiler running (currently gcc-4.4) and that it only works with gcc-3.x. Therefore I downloaded gcc-3.4 (from the old jaunty archive), and with this one still no joy.NebelhomP.S. I'm in love with my Opensuse 11.2. Love my KDE 4.4. The only thing I miss from my Ubuntu installation, is the ability to use Boxee. I would be more than willing to compile Boxee from source. I only have 2 problems with that:
1) I don't know where I can find all the build-deps or what they are for that matter to build Boxee.
2) I'm running on a Netbook. Yes, my measly Intel Atom is no fun for compiling and building.
What are my options/what can I do to get Boxee up and running on 11.2? I've tried searching on build service for an RPM, but I think due to legal restrictions, Boxee can't be on there.

So I've been trying to get GIMP 2.7 installed on my Slackware64 13.0, but I'm having some issues. After some extensive finagling and dependence findings, I got it to configure correctly, however, the make fails with libtool trying to find libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la:
libtool: link: cannot find the library '..//usr/lib64/pkgconfig/gdk-pixbuf/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la' or unhandled argument '..//usr/lib64/pkgconfig/gdk-pixbuf/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la'
libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la is in /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/, but for whatever reason, editing the makefile doesn't change this. (Yes I have the right permissions to edit it). First of all, why is it searching for /usr in the top build directory, and second, why doesn't an edit of the makefile work?
