View 2 RepliesIt's a few days now that I notice everytime I save a page in Firefox, only the .html file is saves, and firefox does not make a folder associated with the page in which it saves the images, etc..Could this be because I installed TOR and the TORBUTTON for firefox?I have, however disabled the TORBUTTON addon from Firefox, and restarted the browserbut the problem persists.

I'm setting up my fedora 10 server. I am currently working on samba. I have added users and created their home directories with their own html directories. I have changed their html directories to 777. However, it appears to be read-only since I cannot create files or folders within it. Can anyone please give me some ideas as to what may be causing this? Probably some extra configurations I may have overlooked? Any help would be kindly appreciated. I also created a general wshare (writable share) directory for all users within home directory but I am encountering the same problem and cannot write to it.

Let's say the folder is on A machine. From B machine, which is in different LANs, I want to access myweb folder using a web browser. I can ping both machines nut I can't access the folder. EDIT: Details added: I have a python script which generates map-legends in the form of an html file. The legend generated have to be pasted on a map which is in a png format. A png format file can be pasted on another png format file easily. But because the legends generated are in a html format I cannot paste it on the map file !!

i'm trying to convert a html file into a text file when i simply run "html2text <filename>" the output displayed is the way we want but when i redirect the same using "-o" or ">>" the file is having extra characters in it. i even tried -ascii,but no much use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've searched and searched for a solution to this and cannot find one. I've installed phpMyAdmin on Fedora 11 using YUM. I've also got MySQL 5 latest and PHP 5 latest installed using YUM. My Apache server document root is var/www/html/ and I can go to [URL] to view my php files. MySQL has root user configured (as far as I can tell) and I have set the password for the root user. After installing phpMyAdmin, I did restart httpd service and I have mysqld enabled and running. However, after installing phpMyAdmin, it does not create a folder in var/www/html/ and so, of course, I get told that phpMyAdmin cannot find navigation.php when I go to [URL].
I've edited /etc/phpMyAdmin/config.inc.php, but this has not helped. I've even DL'd phpMyAdmin from their site and copied the files over to /var/www/html/phpMyAdmin/ and chmod'd the files and folders to 777 permissions, but this has not worked, either. I still get the same "unable to find navigation.php" error.
When I position icons on the desktop in specific places, then I choose to move a file or folder into another folder, all the icons arrange back to the left side. This happened in an earlier version of KDE 4.x, disappeared the next version, and reappeared. how to keep this from happening. It makes using the desktop a pain in the you know what.

After using wget -r, all the chapters are now in the same folder on my local hard drive. Is there a way to build the chapters in their proper order into a "long"/"full" web page, rather than simply having each chapter as a link/next link on a previous page?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to 11.04, I noticed something strange, being that when I want to drag a file or folder from one Nautilus folder window to another which is not visible, I can no longer hold the item over said folder's taskbar button and wait for it to appear. It just shows the + for copy, and when I let go (which I have no choice but to eventually do), it creates a launcher to that item (I assume it's doing that, and not actually copying there, but the + has me unsure).
I've looked in Nautilus's preferences to see if this is some new behaviour that I can revert back to, but could find nothing there.
I'm of course using the Classic desktop with bottom panel being the taskbar. If you know how I can rectify this, please let me know, as the times I would want to create a file or folder launcher without the usual hassle would be rare, but I am constantly dragging stuff from one folder to another, and it would be a real pain to have to line up source and destination folders each time.

There are other HTML files with similar cuts I need to do, but once I have the method for doing one, I am sure I can do the others.
I think the two logical strings to cut between would be:
I am not sure if these strings are always the start and end of the line respectively, is this makes a lot of difference! Then the HTML tags would need to be stripped to get the text on its own.
I know the commands for removing tags, but searching for a string like class="IOSSectionTitle", and cutting everything before it etc is something I am finding challenging.
Just thought I would add that the HTML does not nec. appear on logical new lines throughout the file and there may be unexpected new lines, but as far as i know the class="IOSSectionTitle" and <img always appears as a string without any new lines between those characters.
I need to extract som text from a text file. The text is a test log with system info at the top and results further down. What I need is to add different tags with formatting before and after each line. I have prepared a template with html formatting, but the number of lines in the test log may be different from case to case, so I need to be able to add formatting tags by need. Can this be done using bash script, sed, awk, head, tail... ?

I'm building a file server using Ubuntu. I want to setup an HTML based file upload/download system where I can create accounts for a few users and allow each user access certain folders. So that the user would open it like a webpage using a web browser and then uploads and downloads files, not needing special setup for the computer. Is there a ready made solution for that purpose? Will I have to code it?

It is said that the files in my /var/www/html/xxx directory, where I put them, is not writeable. The command chmod 777 xxx has been tried to make it work, but the error remains when I opened the applications again.
To be specific, I want to install phpFreeChat on my system, so I put those files in the /var/www/html/freechat directory, cd there and typed chmod 777 data/private, chmod 777 data/public on bash. Here's the result of list -al data:
