But if I commented following statement in generic-service_nagios2.cfg, it works just fine.

I have configured a Nagios server which is working well with all king of clients. But when I added a new windows machine to monitor, it gives a error message "connection refused". I have set everything as prior machines.
Now, I just wanted to know the process by which we can check if server is able to communicate with the client's NSclient daemon. In Linux, we simply issue "./check_nrpe -H hostname" and if ok, it gives the NRPE version which indicates the status ok.
I suspect this will be beyond my abilities but thought I'd give it a try. A few months ago I wrote code for an application called nagios which would send me tweets when a system within my network ran into a problem (code below):

i need to install nagios-plugins 64 bit, when i tried to install via yum i got this error yum install nagios-plugins.x86_64 yum error Unsatisfied dependency i hv installed openssl 32 bit but it needs openssl 64 bit, even php and perl. i tried to to install via yum yum install openssl.x84_64 but its not getting installed i tried to uninstall openssl but its shows so many packages to remove

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Dovecot version dovecot-1.0.7 on CentOS 5.4. I'm trying to create subfolders and I can't. I've tried Mac's mail application and Thunderbird; they both come up with an error, basically saying that the server doesn't support level one folders(subfolders). Squirrelmail can't create subfolders neither. I did some reading and thought that perhaps the problem lies in the /etc/dovecot.conf file; specifically with the "mail_location" directive. I currently don't have that directive active which means Dovecot uses defaults settings: saving users' mail in the %u/mail folder. Is there any way to configure Dovecot to use subfolders?

I would like to make and play videos at this resolution, but software decode is too slow, and the GPU accelerated decode (VDPAU) maxes out at 2048 pixels. It might be possible to decode 2Kx2K and cut-and-paste and reorganize the rectangles to fill 2560x1600. But someday I plan on getting a 4K screen (4096x2160 pixels) and I would like to support that too. For that it seems two video streams decoded by two GPUs and exactly synchronized would work.

1) I have my Nagios running on the linux box and BMC Remedy Server on the Solaris box. I have simulated a mail from Nagios to be delivered to the Remedy server. But the Remedy Server does not receive it. I even tried snooping on port 25 but nothing has reached the box.

At the end of installation when I try to execute the command
#chkconfig --add nagios
Its displaying "error reading information on service nagios : no such file or directory".
Heare i come with Nagios Problem, When ever i stop nagios it say's

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is an odd question, but I can't figure out why my nagios emails aren't being sent. In fact, I got my last one three days ago so it *should* be working.
I have everything in contacts.cfg, and the admin page tells me that the following should be sent: Unknown, Warning, Critical, Recovery, Flapping, Downtime
I also have notify-service-by-email and notify-host-by-email.
I have no idea if nagios emails just don't want to be sent or what -- and I'm not even sure if the nagios emails are even trying to be sent.
Here's my contacts.cfg code...
There's nothing in /var/log/nagios besides the mention of that email address in objects.cache, so I have no idea if an email was attempted to be sent. My sendmail queue is empty as well.
Meanwhile, I have some downtime on a service and didn't get notified. Only the web interface is helping me out here. Any ideas why I am not getting email? How can I run a test to see if everything's working okay?
When I try to log into the webgui I am getting a file to download labled "nagios". When double-clicking the file I get the error " The file /path/to/file cannot be found. Please check the location and try again".
