When I try to log into the webgui I am getting a file to download labled "nagios". When double-clicking the file I get the error " The file /path/to/file cannot be found. Please check the location and try again".

1.It doesnt show correct disk utilization for /local partition.
2.It doesnt send Alerts.

I install Nagios Core Version 3.2.3 in CentOS 5.5 via rpmforge repo configure ssmpt to sent mail via my gmail account. i test and don't see any in it even some notification to nagiosadmin is get deliver now i create one user in contacts.cfg

But my problem is when my host goes down i m not getting any notification to my define contactgroup,
I have placed the restart-ssh script in /usr/local/nagios/libexec/eventhandler but its not working on seeing the event log the following information is obtained
Though i have checked the script manually by the following command
It works fine with both of the above mentioned commands
I don't know why it is not able to restart ssh when nagios is calling it as event handler

I want to have like 4 machines, each one of them with Nagios and nrpe (plugin+daemon) installed so that every one of the machines could be able to monitor all of the others.. Is there any problem doing this? Or having nrpe+nagios in the same machine is ok?

I have Nagios working and the check_logfiles plugin installed on my Ubuntu box and NSClient ++ installed on my windows box. My end goal is to be able to get the check_logfiles plugin to flag certain words in Windows Log Files. I can call the check_logfiles from the Ubuntu command line and it works fine when I look at a local log file on the Nagios box. If I try to do something similar but point to a remote windows file the process fails. I have NRPE enabled and I think working on the Windows machine. Before I post Config files etc can someone tell me if my approach is correct? Should I be calling the check_logfiles plugin from the Nagios box or do I need to install the Windows version of Check_logfiles on the remote machine and then make some sort of reference to it in the NSC.ini file on the Windows box.

The service is still running and sends email notifications of issues as usual, but logging into the web interface gives me a 403 Forbidden error.

1) I have my Nagios running on the linux box and BMC Remedy Server on the Solaris box. I have simulated a mail from Nagios to be delivered to the Remedy server. But the Remedy Server does not receive it. I even tried snooping on port 25 but nothing has reached the box.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Hp Tx2 tablet with Lucid on and recently my touchpadsiezed to work while resizing a large partition on an external usb hard disk (which I believe has nothing to do with it). The resizing took me a day or 2. Since then, every time I log in, my touchpad freezes. It works fine at the login screen. As far as I recall, I did not do any substantial updates or apt-get installs recentlyWhen I cat /dev/input/mice it does give output, so I assume that it still works, there's just something in between, blocking my touchpad when logging in.
The driver is psmouse I figure (although I would think it's an usb touchpad), and if I remove the module and reload it, that does not make a difference.I already tried blacklisting, and loading after logging in.Anyone any input on how to debug/solve that?One thing I can add is when plugging in a usb mouse, that one does work. But that doesn't change anything on behalve of my touchpad. So it seems they use a different driver

we need to log web access of a certain set of users for analysis. We decided to setup a proxy server which just logs all the requests but does not do anything else like caching/access control etc.All users will be using a fixed set of computers and hence we can redirect their requests to the proxy. I came across Squid, but found it to be too heavy for our requirements. Is there any other proxy-server software that is good enough for what we want or is Squid the only way?

There are multiple (5 or so) database admins that have to log into a windows 2003 server and from there log into a red hat server. Once they are in the rhel box they execute an app (let's say xclock) that gives them an xwindows session on their desktop. Currently only one person can do this at a time, but they have asked me to configure it to allow multiple users to log into the red hat box from the windows server and run an xwindow.

I have everything in contacts.cfg, and the admin page tells me that the following should be sent: Unknown, Warning, Critical, Recovery, Flapping, Downtime
I also have notify-service-by-email and notify-host-by-email.
I have no idea if nagios emails just don't want to be sent or what -- and I'm not even sure if the nagios emails are even trying to be sent.
Here's my contacts.cfg code...
There's nothing in /var/log/nagios besides the mention of that email address in objects.cache, so I have no idea if an email was attempted to be sent. My sendmail queue is empty as well.
Meanwhile, I have some downtime on a service and didn't get notified. Only the web interface is helping me out here. Any ideas why I am not getting email? How can I run a test to see if everything's working okay?
