I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my desktop pc with Wubi.I tried downloading Wubi.exe and ran it on WIndows XP but it just pops up an Internal Error saying "Failed to run Pylauncher". So I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 from the website and burned it onto a disc, and same error pops up.I want to run Ubuntu on dual boot together with XP.

My card Wifi network doesn't turn on, even at loading configuration of the system is failed. I have to wait a long time until the system itself to load.
And when I write ifconfig or iwconfig is displayed in the console interface wireless card.
And when I come in the panel on the network card, it immediately pops up a window that you can not load the network card modules.
I don't know what could have happened, I do not recall that I recently messed with the system.

I am currently trying to upgrade over 100 rpms on multiple Red Hat servers. Whenever I try to do a rpm -u /packages/*.rpm i recieve a failed dependencies error on the very first rpm. I know that I can go though each rpm one by one and trace each dependency but that will take forever. Is there a way to skip these errors? I know the -nodeps command for rpm but I dont want to screw something up but running all of these rpms on -nodeps

Everytime I attempt to Install Ubuntu or Mint, I get the above error and I am unsure as to why it keeps happening. I read on other forums it can be due to your optical drive so I tried 4 different burners and 3 different types of CD's.
I know they work fine because I use them for other PC's. I've used them on windows XP, Vista, 7 and Mandriva Linux without a single problem. It's only when attempting to install Ubuntu or Mint that I get these errors and it happens every time.
In the error it also mentions that their may be a problem with your HDD, but I've used that HDD for windows xp through its whole life, I only just reformatted earlier in an attempt to install Linux.

Having a problem with my Belkin wireless adapter when trying to stream music to my Pinnacle Soundbridge.The network connection is usually rock steady but drops anywhere between and few second and a few minutes after streaming music. Nothing to do. Used zypper dup to upgrade from 11.3. Still have boot problems (will open another thread), but had major problems upgrading timezone. File downloads would reach some percentage of completion, then B/s would slowly reduce, to zero. Upgrade would halt until manually aborted. Solution was to manually download 5 timezone files and install them in a directory repository. File download did not specify just the timezone file, but also a part of the directory. Could this be part of the problem? example: ./rpm/i586/timezone-2011d-0.2.1.i586.rpm instead of just the file name.System is a Dell 3000 (Pentium 4, 512MB memory).
A few week's back I ordered a Ubuntu 10.04 LiveCD and I recived it just yesterday.So I put it in the CD-ROM drive and rebooted my PC. First off when I went to install it, It gave me and error saying Installation failed because of an unrecoverible error. then I booted into the option "Try Ubuntu"and started searching for a solution for the error online. I found a forum that was talking about the unrecoverible error and it said "Boot into Try Ubuntu and click the installation icon at the desktop" I did. Then I gave my information and such and then it started installing. then when it hit 41% at copying files It gave me the error message saying that it failed and the error code was [errno 5] I tryed following other steps online and they were all a no-go.

kvm (qemu-system-x86_64) did not start with this error:
kvm: vm entry failed with error 0xffffffff
kvm_run returned -22
Got new kernel from slackcurrent (2.6.35.10) and rebuild qemu tools (qemu-kvm from SlackBuild).
Now kvm starts but I have another issue:
The virtual machine (I take a working image from another server) starts, shows the initial lilo message, "Loading linux ....", "BIOS data check succesfull ..." and then hungs with a black screen.
The command line is:
/usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -hda /tmp/elezioni-ter.qcow2 -m 512 -localtime -k it -vnc 10.2.0.39:1
If I add the '-no-kvm' at the command line the vm boots ok.
