This ought to be simple to deal with, but I'm stuck. I'm using Gimp, and its "colorize" window is too tall for the screen. I can move it down but I can't move it up to see what's at the bottom because the control area at the top has to be there. How can I either reduce the size of the window or scroll it down even though the control area has scrolled off the screen?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have installed VLC on two computers of mine on which Sid is running. Both computers are updated to the latest version of Vlc being 1.0.6.
Now the weird thing: on my laptop Vlc runs without any problem. But on my desktop every movie, clip or whatever gives a tall, slim view on the left side of the application window. I really can't find any setting that might cause this.
I remember that in konqueror used as filemanager was possible to colorize the background, is this possible with dolphin?? I looked for but in the few options thereisn't any possibility to do this.

If you haven't install the 2.7 version yet. Before upgrading, backup "python" directory and then just restore it after installing 2.7.
Some of you may have had with issues after installing GIMP on Lucid Lynx 10.04. Which may be directly related to "gimp-help-en", which could prevent you from installing other applications and preforming system tasks. If so, use this method to fix it.
Process: (Terminal > $ sudo apt-get install gimp)

3. Then it will ask you to install the "gimp-help-en", confirm it.

I think this issue is directly linked to a systems with multiple languages, but I haven't been able to test this theory out yet.
How do I move the Window control buttons when the window is in full screen mode? I.e.: I know how to go into gconf-editor:

What I want is my window controls to be on the right side of the window when the window is in full screen mode.
Also I've had an issue with the Unity dockbar glitching out. I can still click on the buttons (i.e. the logout button) but it displays like a nintendo game inserted crooked. Is there a way to 'restart' unity without log out/ log in?
Any one else experienced any glitches with unity auto hiding/showing?
I have asked for a video capturing software before but recommend a GOOD screen recorder where you can select the window/window size the axis and also a good editing software which will render/export into FULL 720p HD

But as soon as I minimize ANY window, all the contents are wiped out. All I get is a title bar with white window. I have windows 7 on my laptop (Dell Studio model). I have installed fedora 12 onto my machine in the unallocated space, the installation went smoothly. If I login to the fedora directly then every thing works fine. but if I login to Window 7 and again try to re-login into fedora 12 after shutting down the winows 7 then the booting screen will become black (almost invisible) even though I can be able to login and can go to the desktop (which is also very least visible) if i click on suspend and then click on the power button then the screen will become properly visible.

But just Today... first for what ever reason my wifi stopped to work (at boot time) even though interface was up as usual, driver was loaded, supplicant has not been touched etc. So I wired up a LAN cable and the at boot time I saw an information from eth0 that packet length is 0 and cannot be parsed (great no network at all). Tried to investigate the problem on a different machine, and one of the suggestions I've found was to set router to no security and see if wireless will connect. I thought that it would be a good idea to reboot the machine to attach to the rooter at boot time and no eth0,wlan1 tries to connect to the network and then I get a black screen instead of login window
