Slackware :: Compile Gyachi On 13.1 But Failed?
Oct 13, 2010I tried to compile Gyachi on Slackware 13.1, but I failed.
The main problem is the lib gtkhtml. The current build file is expecting the version 2, but I found only the package for version 3.
An updated slackbuild for Gyachi on Slackware 13.1 could be the perfect solution (I guess).

Jan 13, 2011it's possible to compile the 2.6.37 kernel patched with the autogroup patch on a Slackware 13.1 system running 2.6.33.4-smp with 2.6.33.4 headers? I just compiled and installed the 2.6.37-autogroup kernel from AUR on my ARCH setup and I like it especially when using firefox with lots of tabs open and other background apps also running. I did notice a speed and smothness difference in my ARCH testing setup with this kernel patch and I can get same results in 13.1??

I've spent the whole day trying to fault find this one (including thinking I had ruined my box and creating a new CentOS build!) and am pretty worn outWhen I attempt to install asterisk-addons (I've tried 1.6.0.1, 1.6.0.1-patch and 1.6.1.0-rc3), I get the following line in a ./configure:

Feb 27, 2010I tried installing the RPM from tcpflow website. error: Failed dependencies: libpcap.so.0.6.2 is needed by tcpflow-0.21-1.i386 I installed libpcap1-32bit, but doesn't help. I tried added soft-link to libpcap.so.1.0.0 from libpcap.so.0.6.2 to workaround, doesn't help. hen I DLed the tarball, ./configure gives an error, even after including --with-pcap=/usr/lib64/libpcap.so.1.0.0 checking for --with-pcap option... configure: error: /usr/lib64/libpcap.so.1.0.0 does not exist I CAN'T install the rpm, I CAN't compile from source. I can't find this program on any suse repo. I need to use this prog -- what can I do?

May 29, 2010I'm trying to do the simplest thing. Compile XMMS. I navigated to the folder containing the extracted source and ran ./configure. That failed, so I remembered to install the build-essential package.
After that, I continued and got this output:
It said I didn't have glib installed, whatever that is. I did "apt-get install glib" and it told me it couldn't find the package called "glib". I thought, "Yeah, that seems a little too broad of a package name".
So then I went to Synaptic and did a search for "libglib" and noticed I already have libglib2.0-0 installed, as well as libglib2.0-data and libglib-perl.
How can I get this to to work correctly? I know the process should be ./configure, make, and then make-all, but I get stuck on the ./configure step.

Aug 24, 2010I installed slackware 13.1 x86_64 bit with multilib, and its been about a month already, I'm really enjoying slackware but I am being troubled with my nvidia card, and I need to get my 3D acceleration working. And I've been looking around the net for information and kept on trying to make my nvidia card to work but to no avail. I cant get X to start, once I put in a xorg.conf stating to use the nvidia card. After troubleshooting for almost 2 weeks and now at my wits end, I now come humbly looking for help in linuxquestions slackware community forum.I've installed nvidia 64 bit kernel, drivers from slackbuilds (version 256.44). The laptop model I'm trying to get it working is an -ASUS K52J Intel Core i3 2.40Ghz with 2GB RAM and with an Nvidia Geforce 310M with 1GB dedicated VRAM.

Jun 4, 2010I installed Slackware64 13.1 two days ago for the first time ever on my Dell Inspiron 1525 after using linux for about a year (Debian and Fedora, though I've installed a few others in VMs). I've really enjoyed Slackware so far, it's been comparatively trouble free. However, I decided to follow AlienBOB's instructions to make it multilib, and though I thought I'd done everything right - I can't seem to compile any 32-bit 13.1 slackbuilds; I've tried with sbopkg as well as the normal method, but it simply won't work. I must have done something wrong, but I've re-read the instructions on getting mutilib working several times and I can't work out what it is.

Apr 9, 2010The background to the problem. I was dangerous, not deadly or elite and I want to be that way again. The best representation that I have found is oolite. Now this installs by auto-package but only in 32-bit and I find auto-package a bit of a pain. I have the windows version installed and running under wine but would prefer a compiled 64-bit Slackware package.
Oolite requires gnu-step so I have downloaded the source and some old (12.2) slackbuilds, which I have modified, and made a package for gnustep-make. The next stage is to make a package for gnustep-base however it is failing with the following error

Jun 20, 2011On the latest slackware (or any i've tried) I've tried removing the --disable-sldap etc from the slackbuild and rebuilding the package to get the server binary. However it never builds, and browsing the tgz package shows it as empty.
