I'm trying to burn mp3's into uncompressed .wav formats on a CD to play on a radio CD player that doesnt accept .mp3 cd's. When I try to add my .mp3 files, I get the error that the file isnt supported by any of the gstreamer codecs installed, with also the following message:
"Make sure the appropriate codec is installed." I have the gst-fluendo-mp3 package installed, I uninstalled and reinstalled brasero,
I'm running xubuntu 10.04 and I've installed media codecs as per the " Comprehensive Multimedia & Video Howto " thread. I also have faac, libfaac0, faad, and libfaad2 installed. But when viewing some videos or trying to transcode to anything with the aac codec I get the "no AAC" error.How can I fix this?

I was trying to make a copy of a DVD recently. I started with Brasero, and when that didn't work, I installed k3b. Both came back w/similar symptoms. Neither burned the DVD and seemed to hang up. When either program stopped/hung, I checked on the file that was being captured from the original DVD and discovered that both programs produced a max file of 1.5 GB (source was 6+ GB). I checked the size of the partition where the file was being temporarilty stored and there is 18 GB of space.

After experimenting with version 6.0 of ffmpeg there were a few issues i was not totally happy with, so i decided to downgrade back to the 2008 build of ffmpeg.However now whenever i encode a libxvid/libmp3lame movie with ffmpeg (using the exact same settings I have always used), the output created .avi file is reported by KDE as having:

This is truly odd (and quite annoying) as the .avi movie plays correctly with sound on both Smplayer and Kaffeine, so i don't think it is a codec issue, but it just does not display the correct audio codec tag anymore. how the metabar properties are controlled in KDE?, or if there is a config that I can adjust to make the new created output .avi's report the Audio Codec correctly as 'mp3'? (like it used to).Also, does anyone know if ffmpeg 6.0 may have left some files behind on my system that is causing this sudden odd behavior?

VLC has a command "Open Capture Device" that gives the user options for ripping (I think) the audio tracks. I made the relevant choices and got this message:

I see there are a lot of other threads on this subject, but I don't find any solution in the other threads. I have been trying to burn cd's directly in Ubuntu, using Brasero, which was already installed. Why does it not work? It says that an "unknown error occurred" or something like that. I don't remember the exact error message right now. I am now burning cd's in "Gnomebaker" which I found in the applications list. This works fine, but only at the speed of 4x, no faster. I hope to get the brasero application to work, as this is the easiest, fastest way, just dragging files to the cd.

It told me to install vcdimager, so I did that and restarted brasero. I then told it to burn the video files to the disk as an (S)VCD. It began converting the files before the burn. After the conversion was complete, it gave the message "ejecting medium" and then it ejected the disk. After that, it said it encountered and error and wouldn't do anything from there. I tried a different CD, I tried just closing the disk drive. It just gives me the same error.

It returns an error dealing just with the h264 codec saying that I need to use a vpre parameter? I can't find any documentation on using the vpre parameter.

I've been burning a few linux ISOs lately to play around on a desktop I have (archlinux, Fedora, etc) and a few days ago Brasero stopped launching. I tried to uninstall/reinstall Brasero, but it still didn't work. There we no error messages, it would just try to start up, and quit.
I got frustrated and tried to run Brasero from the command line and got this:

I download the live 64 and burned it to a disk after it burns to the disk Brasero checks and says "error some files could be corrupted." I burn it slowest burn same thing happen. I downloaded thinking I had a corrupted download. Same thing happen. I never had a problem burning iso until now. What am I doing wrong?

I have made numerous audio CD's with Brasero, but recently I had to make one and mid way through the burning process I am given this error: Could not decode stream. Or some variation like that. It ruins the cd and after I get the error I can not eject the disc.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently switched distributions, I let a guy talk me into switching from Ubuntu 8.04 to Mint 9. Since the switch, I have had a lot of issues that I have mainly worked out myself. I have posted all of it on the Mint forum, but there hasn't been much help available there. I have been told that Mint 9 is based on the newest release of Ubuntu (Lucid Lynx), so I thought I would post over here to see if anyone could help me. The only thing that's still giving me fits are the 3 software programs above. Using k9copy and trying to burn directly to disc, I am getting the error that I took the screenshot of. I then burned it as an iso image and saved it, then tried to use k3b and brasero to burn it that way and got errors with both of those programs.
