Is there a way to configure Apache so that if a user tries to access a webpage that doesn't exist under mydomain.com, that it redirects that user to the index.php?

I have a nagios server monitoring around a 1000 hosts in our office. To make things easier, i've integrated apache into Active Directory for the website authentication. This works perfectly, however the Nagios website uses alot of CGI scripts to display information I get the message below when trying to show CGI scripts with an AD user. Local users work fine. 403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access /nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi on this server. I tried adding the AD users to the cgi.conf file within Nagios (which works for local accounts) but it doesn't seem to work even with this change.

I have created a php page with only
PHP Code:
<? php echo "OK"; ?>
in the code. When I go to that page in a browser, I get a blank page. Is that normal, or am I suppose to see the word "OK" displayed in a browser? When I became curious, I open up Wireshark to capture the packets, I see that my server is giving out a "HTTP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error".
Here's the entire tcp stream:
Code:
GET /services/test.php HTTP/1.1
Host: 192.168.1.5
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3

I run Linux RedHat and want to find out how can I replace the standard Apache 503 error page with my own? This is my configuration in the httpd.conf file for error pages. Can I just edit the HTTP_SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE.html.var in /var/www/error directory and replace the content with my own , or how can I accomplish my goal?

I'm moving an office intranet server to a new machine running CentOS 5 with apache 2.2.3. Everything worked fine on my old CentOS server and nothing new or fancy being tried on the new machine: default server, no name virtual hosts etc.. However, on the new server I can only see the index.html page when I browse to it. Index.html is a frameset which calls other pages to load from subfolders to /var/www/html. The frameset loads but in each frame I see "The requested URL /hot_stuf/data_colm.html (etc.) was not found on this server.".

Obviously Nagios will page out once for each host and service goes down. But, is there a way to configure it to page out once, kind of like "Hey, LOTS of stuff just went down." Rather than 200+ individual pages?

I am trying to setup Fedira 12 Linux Apache in my home network. I am able to access the hosted website from inside my home network without any problem. I am facing the problem to access it from outside. At the moment i have connected the Apache directly to DSL modem for testing purpose. I was reading "The ISP may have blocked the HTTP port 80. So check it by connecting the Apache directly to DSL modem." The temporary network connections for testing purpose are as follows..
DSL modem (SIEMENS Speed Stream 4200)-->Fedora 12/Linux Apache Server
I am even unable to PING the real ip (IP for DSL modem).(Firefox gave me error message "Connection Timed out) I have tried to ping it from the internet.I can PING the DSL from Apache without any problem.
1. Why i am even unable to PING the real IP of DSL modem at my home.?
2. Is it possible to run/setup Apache by using this type of DSL modem?
3. DSL modem has real IP. DSL MODEM assigns private IP (192.168.x.x) to Apache. So when a http request form the internet came to DSL modem on port 80, will it forward to Apache automatically.? or i have to made any changes.(I can not see anything in DSL modem to change/modify), OR do I have to use another DSL MODEM/Equipment (router)? This setup is just temporary. The actual design is as follows
DSL MODEM(Speed Stream 4200)-->Fedora 12 Linux ROUTER--->Internal network with DNS/Apache Server

I'm trying to get Apache to run in a user's home directory. I changed the conf file so that Apache runs under the user and group "kiosk" and changed the DocumentRoot and Directory from the default to "/home/kiosk". Then I set Apache to start at boot (chkconfig --level 235 httpd on) and rebooted. When I checked, httpd is running as kiosk like it should (ps aux | grep httpd). However, when I try wget localhost, I get a 403 response back. If as root I call "httpd -k stop" and then "httpd -k start", then everything works exactly as it should (curiously, if I try using "-k restart", it still doesn't work). After this, httpd still shows as running as kiosk and if I check before calling start, it shows no httpd processes running as expected.
This only happens when I use httpd to stop and then start the web server. If I try to restart using apachectl I still get a 403 error. As an interesting aside, after I've used httpd, if I try using "apachectl restart" I get a "(13)Permission denied: Error retrieving pid file run/httpd.pid" error. This is all on a freshly installed CentOS 5.5 server. Why I'm seeing this very different behaviour from what I thought were just equivalent ways of starting Apache? And then what I could do to get it to start up and run properly on boot? One last item to mention is this isn't a permissions problem. I set the permissions to 777 to both the home and kiosk directories (and 666 to the web files) just to be sure that's not the problem.

I have this scenario.
Nagios Server - 192.168.1.200
Nagios Client - 192.168.1.201 (This is the remote-host I am trying to monitor)
I firmly believe I have at least configured it right as this command on Nagios Server does not show any errors.
/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

I am setting up Apache (Fedora 12) inside my home network. From inside my home network I access it without any problem. I need to set it up to access it from internet. I have the following questions. Here is temporary setup for testing purpose.
Internet-->ADSL modem (SEIMENS Speed Stream 4200)---> Apache (Fedora 12)
1. Do I have to do any kind of ports forwarding on ADSL modem. (There is no option to do port forwarding on Modem) May be I need different Model of Modem??
2. I tired to Ping my real IP for modem form another computer from internet. I am even unable to PING the ADSL 's real IP. Why it is that?

I am using following software on my web server:
RedHat 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5
Apache/2.2.3
Coldfusion 8
My webserver accesses a backend mySQL server using CentOS5
The last week, I have been getting a "page Load Error" on my web server whilst others told me they are getting a "broken link" error when they try to access my web site. It has been working fine for the last 12 months until last week.
ADSL, modem and router okay according to service provider (verizon)
I can ping my IP address and my domain name.
# netstat -tap
shows http and https both processes running.
# service httpd restart
no issues
I shut down firewall and tried again, but got the same "page load error".

I am very new (since yesterday) to Linux also new to web server setup. I have installed all LAMP components, including SSL as described here: [URL]. I have added LISTEN 443 Wanted to restart the apache server -> no success ! stopped it, now doesn't start at all:
Warning msg=>
(98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:44 no listening sockets available, shutting down . .
Failed
I tested Apache and my PHP earlier and it worked. Now after SSL and FTP installation it doesn't work anymore! Also I am wondering about my server name, it is the set IP of the web server, surly i should change that? Only used link for SSL set-up, used diff links for apache php etc (also have java JRE installed as I will need that later for my app) also have GNOME available, but prefer command line.

I have a problem with running Apache web server. I think my problem is either I can not get httpd to load automatically or it's being blocked from external unless I'm logged in, don't know which. Or, I'm completely off base. Either way, being logged in solves the problem. Now I just need to fix it. This is a brand new server running latest apache and fedora 10 (all fully patched). Loaded from source to all default (non RPM directories - apache is /usr/local/apache2/... )
I modified the existing /etc/init.d/httpd script and had it point to the /usr/local/apache2 areas.I even did a chkconfig --add httpd and show it is on for run levels 2345.The problem is that when I reboot the server httpd does not load because I can not access the website.However, the minute I login to the server as a user (non-root) it automatically loads httpd and the website works.Then, when I logout, everything is inaccessible again. I even tried to put the commands in the /etc/rc.local script (or wherever it is).Same thing happens.I know this is a simple fix. Just don't know what it is. Is it related to SElinux? However, wouldn't SElinux create access problems regardless of being logged in or not? Once I'm logged in, everything automatically fixes itself (either it's a service load or a rights filter fix).
Remember, everything works perfectly as long as I'm logged in to the server (even as a non-root user). Just the act of logging in makes the web server accessible from to the rest of the world. However, when I logout, the web server is inaccessible.

I'm trying to install two instances of OCS Inventory on the same machine using virtual hosts in apache. The apache configuration for it is in it's own file and it works fine without any virtual host. If I add it apache refuses to start without giving any error message. I narrowed it down to some lines loading perl modules, and if I comment them away apache will start again. Some of the modules work, but some of the ones specific to OCS Inventory will not work. I can't understand what the difference is between loading it in a virtual host or not, it doesn't make any sense to me!
