I've been trying to enable SSL in a Apache+Debian server. I already enable the ssl module, I added the 443 port in the ports.conf and I added a virtual host for the 443 port, as follows.
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error.log
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/access.log combined
SSLEngine On
SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl/apache.pem
</VirtualHost>
The certificate is installed also. After I restart Apache, the error log don't show anything unusual. The only showed is this: Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) PHP/5.2.0-8+etch13 mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8c configured -- resuming normal operations. Still, I can't open any pages with https protocol, only with http.
I am trying to get PHP5 working on Apache 2.2.13. When loading the PHP file in the web browser, the server does not appear to be passing the php off to the interpreter.Instead, the browser just treats the first command as an HTML comment and displays the rest to the user.
I am trying to add a second vhost to my once working apache config. Now I have things really bollixed up and cannot access anything. I am getting a error 400. The access log shows this:
I'm trying to make a redirect rule on my .htaccess but it's not working as planned.
Quote:
The first rule works fine, but on the second rule i do have a problem.
When I type http://domain.com/?tempskin=_rss2 the redirect does not work, but if I change the ? to any other character or even group of characters, the redirect works fine. example:
[url] will be redirected to [url]
But i do need to redirect the ?tempskin=_rss2. I already tried some variations on the redirect rule without any success.
I've installed Apache Tomcat--6 and even jdk1.6.I've even created a tomcat.sh file to start the serverautomatically and it includes the Environment variables also ($CATALINA_HOME & JAVA_HOME) for automatic startup.Next when i'm using http://localhost:8080 to call the server it shows unable to connect.I've tried changing the port no of tomcat in server.xml file. but still its not working.
-->Then i tried using--telnet localhost comand--it shows Trying 127.0.0.1...
telnet: connect to address 127.0.0.1: Connection refused
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
Here I'[m stuck i don't understand how do i make the localhost work.
-->If I'm giving telnet localhost 25 the sendmail server is working. But the 80 and 8080 ports are not getting configured.
-->I've tried adding the port and its name in /etc/services file but still its not working.
-->When I'm giving the command--/sbin/chkconfig --list--->Its shows: xinetd based services:
... ...
telnet on.what should i do to get my tomcat server work properly.
I run mysqld on another server. I just switched to another dedicated server now, and i'm having trouble connecting to the mysqld server. If i run the php script from the bash console( php connect.php ) it works perfectly and connects to the mysqld server. However, if i run the script from apache ( http://localhost/connect.php ) it returns this: Can't connect to MySQL server on '(mysqld real ip)' (13) Mysql connection from another server(old httpd server) works perfectly, so it's not from the database server.
i have apache and mysql running, i can access my web server by visiting localhost on port 80 but for some reason when it doesnt work when i try using my ISP provided IP address... (it used to work).. i have my router setup with a DMZ on my LAN IP (my computers IP, this is the computer in my home network that serving with apache).. i also cant seem to shut down my mysql server (theres an update ive been trying to get) even when i use sudo...
I have 2 servers that are mirrored. They host 3 separate websites. Two of these websites are regular HTTP and the other is HTTPS with Digest authentication as well. The reason there are 2 servers is because one is a primary and the other secondary in case the primary goes down. Recently I decided to upgrade the secondary server then make it the primary server. I have done most of the configuration and the sites using regular HTTP are working perfectly fine. The page using SSL is not. Apache fails to load and here are the errors I am receiving the the error log file:
Code: [Fri Aug 13 09:27:00 2010] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `newserver.domain.com' does NOT match server name!? [Fri Aug 13 09:27:00 2010] [error] Unable to configure RSA server private key [Fri Aug 13 09:27:00 2010] [error] SSL Library Error: 185073780 error:0B080074:x509 certificate routines:X509_check_private_key:key values mismatch
For the first warning, I cannot find anywhere that says the CN "newserver.domain.com", only what the CN is in the SSL key. I have no idea where to even start with the other errors.
'm running on Ubuntu and I've succesfully setup apache alongside with a working php & mysql configuration - other computers connected to the LAN can access it by typing in my ip: 192.168.0.9however I would like my webserver to be accessible by all internet users...I've got my ports.conf file in the apache setup to listen on ports 80 and 8080 this is my ports.conf:PHP Code:
I am trying to add a virtual host to my machine by name to the IP here.It absolutely refuses to work.it is a mess server I hope to upgrade soon, but it has 2 versions of apache running together on it.The first one (php3) just proxies all the requests from 80 to 8080 which has another instance of apache running php5.I don't know what else to do, it keeps defaulting to the host header error virtual host.
I am trying to set up Apache and Webmin so that I can access Webmin by going to [URL]. I am using the direction at [URL] under the "Webmin In A Sub-Directory Via A Proxy" section. I had this setup working before, but I think an update of either Webmin or Apache broke it. Now, I can go the the webpage and I see the login screen. However, when I try to log in, I get an error.
Quote:
Error - No cookies
Your browser does not support cookies, which are required for this web server to work in session authentication mode I have tried adding the ProxyPassReverseCookieDomain and ProxyPassReverseCookiePath directives to my virtual host config file, but it still doesn't work.
I am running a quad core centos 5.4 box that is having a strange problem with dovecot. The administration panel is able to send emails through dovecot but not any of the user accounts (ie with webmail). I've done a bit of research with what could be wrong but haven't had any luck so far I am also having a weird problem with apache: on a c++/php bittorrent application I was going to be running on a subdomain of my main site I get a 500 error every time I try to log in. The only way to get rid of the 500 error is to clear the chache (so its horribly broken somehow). The error generated in the log whenever I try to log in is that "ffmpeg is already loaded" (which I am running on the main site and is critical). Is there a way of either repairing my apache install or excluding ffmpeg on the subdomain in the conf or something?
I am trying to solve a problem where Apache stats aren't displaying correctly in Munin. I've ran through quite a bit of checks and tests regarding Munin setup, but I think my issue is related to Apache, but my skill set there is lacking.
first, system info: monitored server: CentOS 5.3 2.6.18-128.1.1.el5
I am upgrading my server and I have a lot of sites. Since I cannot take my server down for a few days, maybe a week until I manage to migrate all the sites to the new machine, I figured I could migrate them one by one. After migrating one, I would somehow tunnel the requests of that name virtual host to my internal machine. When everything is migrated, I would then switch the machines, update ip's and stuff and everything will work just fine.
However I cannot seem to find a way to do this tunneling. is this at all possible? If not, what alternatives do I have?
I want to run a linux command with apache through web browser and that's is not working. and it's working properly when I execute this command through terminal, where is the problem?
NOTE: apache have the privileges to execute the command
I am installing Big Brother on a CentOS 5.2 running the default Apache 2.2.3. When I try to access any web page I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at fmsubbnix Port 80 So far I have:
1) Set the Directory options to FollowSymLinks 2) Verified all directory and file permissions are at 755 3) Set permissions temporarily to 777 and received same error so I am assuming the issue is in a config file somewhere 4) in hhtpd.conf verified <Files ~ "^.ht"> is correct 5) verified the "default" directory is correct (/var/www/html)
I have read and tried several ideas in posts listed on the web but to no avail and am at a loss as to what to look for next..
I'm running a linux cloud server with the following config 1.2ghz Processor allocation 752MB Ram
The site loads slow and clicking a link almost freezes the page for a second. Also, the page loads could be much faster. We've been running mysqltuner and have pretty much optimized all slow queries. Is there anything we can do to fine tune the server for faster and more responsive?
When I go to localhost, and try to open any PHP file, it asks me to download the file rather than run it like it should. JSP doesn't appear to be working either. I'm not to concerned about the JSP though.
I'm running KUbuntu 8.04 with KDE 3 on a 64bit machine.
Does anyone have some material about statistics using ubuntu / linux server, or a text which generally describes the ubuntu server?I need urgent, i'm writing specialization work about administration apache and ftp server on ubuntu 10:10 server, so I need something for the conclusion.
config my apache server to list all my files: c/c++, php, java files, like the txt file on my server, e.g /var/www/mydomain/pub i want to dump all my c/c++, php, java file under the pub directory and I can access it from my domain name, if I dump txt file, I have no problem to view it, but when I dump c/c++ or php files under pub directory, then I can't view it like regular txt file, Q: is there anyway I can configure my apache server to view all the c/C++, php, java file as like txt file?
I and setting up a home web server using Ubuntu 10.04 server (local only). I am currently using Webmin 1.53 to access it remotely all is going great very easy to use. Webmin - Check, ftps-fileZilla - Check, Apache -It Works BUT I cant seam to set up Apache as a named server using Bind DSN. Tried most of the help in the fourms and ..... I think my problems is in the master server selection, do i have to use [URL]... or can i just use myservername. I have tryed both with no luck. First time with the server addition.
I have install Mandriva 2009 and install apache server but its not strating on default configuration file . What I should do for starting apache . i have tried /etc/init.d/httpd start but apache is not running .
I installed Apache server with Debian 5.0.2 Lenny. I am trying to write a script which would analysis web log files. I found the log files on /var/log/apache2. There is an access log file, `access.log`. My question is what configuration file determines the location and the name of the access log file. How can I change them? I used CustomLog in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf like below.LogFormat ": %h %l %u %t "%r" %>s %b" common CustomLog /home/test/my_log_file common Apache2 generated /home/test/my_log_file. But no logs were written in the file even after I run `/etc/init.d/apache2 restart`. Ichanged the log file location. It still didn't work. However, Apache2 still wrote logs in the file `/var/log/apache2/access.log`
Can anyone tell me in performance tunning of apache-tomcat and jboss application server?when I deploy some application in apache-tomcat the performance is say 100 users per second and incase of jboss it is even worst (35-40 users per second)i want to improve my performance 1000 uesrs per second..
I have a requirement of using a wildcard certificate for 5 subdomains running under apache httpd server and 1 subdomain under tomcat. Is there any possibility of using the single wildcard certificate both in tomcat and apache
I am trying to run apache-tomcat5.5.29 on fedora9 but sometimes its working and sometimes not.Error messages are: 1.could not connect to the server running at 8080(message is at browser) 2.port is not free(again at browser)then I tried to change the port no. of tomcat in server.xml but still it is not working. But sometimes it again starts running without any modification.
I desperately need to get my apache server on OPenSuse to use the worker MPM I have tried simply placing worker in the quotes of the apache file /etc/sysconfig/apache2 but when I stop and start apache in the task monitor it is still showing the httpd2 processes to be prefork. Also there seems to be a problem on restart saying it cant find MPM.
I have a virtual server setup on port 80 that works fine, however, if I change the port to, say, 8080 the browser then fails to connect.I'm using webmin to configure everything, all the other settings seem to work as I would expect.I get the error "Safari canī open the page http://192.168.0.12:8080 because Safari cant connect to the server 192.168.0.1." in safari, and i get something similar on the xubuntu machine in firefox connecting via localhost. It's almost as though theres a firewall in the way, but I think it's more likely to be some config problem.
