I run my own DNS servers and host my own domains. I'd like to host a few subdomains of one of my domains on a server with a dynamic IP. Is there a way to do this? I *believe* that I can host one subdomain by using a CNAME record and a dynamic DNS service.

trying to use this program [URL].. to work with my dynamic ip address so i can host a small website on my ubuntu 11.04 machine with [URL].. following is the install instructions and after that is the results of the first two commands: './configure' and then 'make' which results in the error at the bottom. im not sure what this means or how to fix it. any suggestions? the products website has no info.

My server was hit with an injection script which has placed code across many of my clients files. I need a script that can remove a block of php code that spans multiple lines, multiple directories/files and is dynamic, meaning that part of the code changes. I think using find/sed is what I need but cannot seem to figure out how to get it to work.The following is the script that is being injected everywhere. The catch is that they have generated dynamic code at the start/end of the script. (I have commented the parts that are dynamically changing on EVERY instance).PLEASE NOTE: Directly following this script is the start of a valid php script that I do not want to delete.

I am trying add three namebased virtual hosts in local apache2 webserver OS ubuntu 10.10. The three sites are :www.site1.eka,www.site2.eka,www.site2.eka
The first I created a file is virtual.conf in conf.d directory its content is :

Next I created following files in sites-available directory. [URL] is as follows:

When I visit the [URL] in browser it says server not found.
I have a DNS server on my LAN at 192.168.140.25. Going by the example in the O'Reilly DNS and BIND book I bought, I set up the domain movie.edu and [URL]. To my great surprise and delight, I can access toystory.movie.edu in a browser from another PC on the LAN (as long as I add 192.168.140.25 to the DNS servers). Encouraged by this victory, I decided to try to set up another subdomain at [URL].
This kind of worked but not completely. Interestingly, I can get to both [URL] and [URL] on my server, but on my PC, I can only get to [URL] not [URL]. Here is my db.movie.edu:

I wish to let friends and family host their individiual websites on it, but I'm running into a bit of a dillema. It seems that my server automatically redirects them to my home page and not theirs.

What should I check in a few blogs I checked they said to mention in [URL]...But in this case what should I put I have two different websites or what other thing I have missed? I do not have access to DNS so that on LAN I can point site1.abc.com and abc.com to same IP 192.168.1.5 which to me seems could resolve the issue.

I had at least 6 asked me if I could set up an account on my server for them and they would pay me! I do not want my users to remember or bookmark the full link "http://my_server_hostname/application_base_name/hello.do"). Without further ado...On my Desktop, My host OS is Windows 7 while thru VMware i have Ubuntu as a Guest OS. I know it's easier to just use Ubuntu solely on the Desktop to host it as a media server, but for certain reasons (family and friends mostly) I'm using VMware instead. My goal is to use my Ubuntu OS thru VMware for others in my household to access it. So far, my Windows host can pick it up the media it's sharing, but not the rest of the network. I know it has to do with the NAT that VMware uses, but what's the best way to configure it to where other laptops, and ps3's on the network can see it?

I was told that I could create multiple websites ona single machine useing Virutual Hosts.I have RedHat Linux 9 running Apache/2.0.40. I want to make offline test sites to learn with and have read it is as simple as changing /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file but I have not been able to make it work yet. I was kind of thinking of having some way to parse/store email in a MySQL database and make it searchable using a PHP application. But I'm not sure how to parse the headers (if it's even possible to do so).
Any other ideas on this type of application? They are wanting a way to archive email, make it searchable, keep a record of all emails sent, etc. They're willing to "purchase" a mail server if necessary. But I'm hoping to find a way that they won't have to.
