I am doing an analysis with postfix, qmail and sendmail analyzing its performance.I need to send mail of size 10 MB, 50MB and 75 MB and analyze the time taken to send each mail to different users.I first used telnet, but file attachment is very hard there.Then i went for thunderbird but the file attachment size is just 5 MB. So is there a possibility to send such huge file size?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this directory with multiple images 'pics' and the size is 20mb and I want to make a .zip or .rar package of this directory but with an increased size so the .zip/.rar file will be 100mb, and then when you extract it the file size is the original 20mb. I want to make the result file bigger, no compress it. I need to put all the directory in one single file .zip or .rar but it has to weight more (100mb), maybe it can be done with another application. By the way, I have a centos 5 from command line.

but in Horde the max. Attachment size seems to be 2MB.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running a blog on posterous. Some friends of me post messages there via mail, mostly with some PDF attachments. These PDFs are generated mostly on a MAC with Word. The standard extension of these files is foobar.doc.pdf. Unfortunately, Posterous ignores attachments with the extension .doc.pdf.
So, I'm looking for some workaround. For example, I could my web server with some script, which receives these mails, converts the filenames of the attachment in some way and posts the result to my posterous blog. Therefore I'm looking for some mail processing scripts, which enable me to do so.
I have been trying to get my message modem to read .g3 files under ubuntu (now 10.04) for over a year now, and have tried absolutely every application I can find to no avail.The output is always garbage.Every application tried gives the same result, but the fax is perfect on Windows, but I don't have a Windows machine any more.
I am unable to upload the .g3 file as it is an "invalid attachment" but have saved it to url.I have (hopefully) attached the resultant output from gimp, which is exactly the same with tkusr and efax. The fax is the weekly Debt collection agency touting for business (no, I don't owe them any money - yet)
I believe they all use a common file, something like g3topbm or g3topdf.If I try g2topbm on the command line: every second line has an error e.g: g3topbm: bad code word at row 202, col 5 (len 14 code 0x32), skipping to EOL
The .g3 files are created by a USR message modem which stores the files for later download ('cos the computer gets switched off at night.)
My requirement is i want to send mails from server to all my employess with one attachment file for every monday and friday like scheduler.. how it is possible through bash script.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI think I am having a problem due to an NFS server file size limit. Is it possible I am missing a parameter on the RHEL NFS setup to handle large files? I am running an NFS server on a RHEL 5.1 machine and the HP-UX 11.0 machine does an NFS mount to that file system. The HP-UX executes a program that resides on the HP-UX machine to process a large 35 GB data file that resides on the NFS server machine. The program on the HP-UX can only read/process the first portion of the file until an "RPC: Authentication error" is returned multiple times until the program prematurely decides that it has reached the end of file.
I tried recompiling the same program to run on the RHEL 5.1 NFS server to access the 35 GB file locally (on the NFS server instead on HP-UX) and the program completed successfully, processing the whole file (about 7 hours of processing) with no "RPC: Authentication error." In addition, I have been running the nfs mount with the same machines for quite some time, but not with such large files sizes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast weekend i have increased the open file size (ulimit -n) for the application user id i have update the limits.conf file with necessary inputs restarted the service and the server as well, when i check the ulimit value for the specific user by switching user from other user it shows the new value (10240) but if i login directly using the application id the ulimit value shows as 1024 which one is the default one.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI am curious if perhaps I am doing something wrong extracting pages from a pdf doc using pdftk and creating a new file. I am only extracting the odd pages from the file and outputting them to a new file that is now only 20 pages instead of the input's 40 pages, yet the new output file is still 1.4Mb in size, the same as the original.
It seems strange to extract only half the pages of a large document and end up with a result that is the same size. how to streamline the resulting pdf's using pdftk?
BTW this is the command I am using, in case perhaps I am missing an option to optimize file size or something:
