I'm having a hard time getting part of Asterisk (the open source PBX) called asterisk-addons to compile with mysql CDR support which I need to enable Realtime I believe. I've spent the whole day trying to fault find this one (including thinking I had ruined my box and creating a new CentOS build!) and am pretty worn outWhen I attempt to install asterisk-addons (I've tried 1.6.0.1, 1.6.0.1-patch and 1.6.1.0-rc3), I get the following line in a ./configure:
checking for mysql_config... /usr/bin/mysql_config
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no
Then when I do a make menuselect, MySQL is not selectable and XXX"d out:

I compiled and installed the Asterisk ztdummy package because there is no rpm for it, unfortunately, and i even reinstalled asterisk, but i still get the "No application 'Meetme' for extension..." error when trying to conference. I do a "module show", and it lists other modules that were compiled with the zt source, but not ztdummy.Does anyone know how to fix this? This is more than a passing interest or hobby, because i need to conference about 3 to 5 people to help me test a new Website Content Management System and User Forums Management System i am about to launch as a service.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using debian squeeze server with asterisk 1.6 installed and configured.my problem is non root users need to access the server using ssh and restart asterisk server after making changes in asterisk configuration files.As of now i am giving root username/password for this process (i know it is not at all a good idea) .now how can i create a username and configure it which can only access and modify asterisk configuration files and restart asterisk server without any other privileges.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have Zarafa and I am going to install MythWeb for MythTV.To solve the permission problem for installing amportal (FreePBX), I have to change Apache's user and group to Asterisk instead of this, which I've commented out:User ${APACHE_RUN_USER}Group ${APACHE_RUN_GROUP}Once FreePBX is installed completely, I checked to make sure FreePBX is working and it worked. I used the latest version of Asterisk from the SVN trunk, so I used ./install_amp --my-svn-is-correct.However, I want to use Zarafa AND FreePBX, I just don't like having to change the Apache User and Group to asterisk.Here is a couple of examples of instructions when installing FreePBX:Is there a workaround? I really want to change it back to what it was before while FreePBX can still access their own directories.

Might this is silly question but I am not much familiar to database.I am doing master slave Mysql replication for load balancing. On master server different database has different user privileges. I create backup using mysqldump command and restore on slave server instead of using load data from master; command.When i replicate database from master to slave will i require to set user privileges same as master ?One more question: How to lock all database in mysql?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using an older redhat system (2.6.9-22.ELsmp) here which is running an older mysql (server version: 4.1.12). I don't think that's the source of the problems. I believe that have understood things rightly when I say that the mysql root user is unrelated to the linux root user ... in my case I believe the root user to be the unix user mysql. So when I connect to the server (local host from a local terminal) I use:

and enter a blank password
This gets me on, however I seem unable to do anything like create database or alter privilege. I wonder if its related to my finding no database called mysql?

I'm using dovecot pop3 server in my website. I tried to create a virtual user system with mysql. But it didn't work. Next I tried to debug my work with reading of dovecot log. I enabled logging in it by changing this values in /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-logging.conf:

After that I tried to login to the pop3 via telnet and it failed as usual. After I checked the log file (/var/log/dov), but it does not contain any information about that failed login. Only there was some information about starting up of dovecot! Does any body know that what is the problem and why dovecot doesn't log that?
I've tried every manual there is for creating new MySQL users ... but without success.

I did something silly and changed my root user access for mysql access to Any from localhost using webmin. I get an access dented when i try to open up the mysql editing page on webmin. Can any of you tell me if there is a way to change it back to hosts=localhost I am using webmin 1.5.30 on Centos 5.5. I am hoping I can change it by command line or if I can access the config files and change it that way?

I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:

I set up a servber on my local machine, & also PHp - Both working fine.I'm trying to load up MYSQL i have installed it, & *can* start/stop the server. however if I do anything else with it, I get this error :-

I've been attempting to set up a LAMP for local web development, which meant installing mysql-server. But now have a problem when trying to run mysql, I get:-

When trying to downgrade mysql-server I saw that there are dependency problems between the various modules (but can't recall which). But whichever route I truied the results are always the same.
Thought about trying XAMPP but I note that even has it's problems, is there any way I can get a lamp set up on FC14, or must I give it up as a bad job.

I was having issues with MySQL Server and uninstalled it. I still have my databases at /lib/var/mysql.
My question: if I install MySQL Server (same version, 5.1) again, will it delete my databases, or will they still work?
How can I really, really remove everything related to mysql / mysql-server. I read and tried all kinds of things, but on every reinstall there is still old mysql stuff there, for example an existing password. Even resetting the password does not help.
Reason of removal: it looks like the mysql setup is really corrupt, so I want to remove, and then do a fresh install. Running Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit

I installed mediawiki the other day and went with the default innodb option. However a week later something went wrong. And since I have scripts that nightly backup /var/ I just copied the backup of /var/lib/mysql/wikidb/ (as I've done with MyISAM). Then when I connect the wikidb database. I can see the tables (via "show tables"), but when I do any query with them (check table X, select * from X) I get:

Table 'wikidb.X' doesn't exist I've since read that can can't just copy the database directory like MyISAM, and there appears to be no way that I can find to restore or fix Innodb, without a dump of the data. And I never got a chance to do a mysqldump of the data. So has anybody got any idea how I can at least view the "page" table from the files I've backed up in /var/lib/mysql/wikidb/ ?

I am using CentOS5 and installed the MySQL for server during the installation. I can set up and use MySQL databases. But I cannot make it startup everytime the server restarts. And quite a lot of methods need this folder "support-files/mysql.server", while my set up cannot find this. I am wondering if my installation of the MySQL for server is complete or not.
