Server :: Apache 2.2 AuthType Digest, PAM Module, MySQL - Configuration?
Feb 18, 2010
Just setup an Apache2 server, and I would like to setup a login. I also wanted to use the same method that is setup for vsftpd For vsftpd I've created a mysql database.... structured as:
Code:
mysql> use vsftpd
Reading table information for completion of table and column names
You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A
Database changed
mysql> describe accounts;
I need to tune the mysql and apache server for the comparatively busy webserver. My scenario is like this.
1. The Web request is around 2000 request at a time or more. 2. Each web request will generate one mysql query. 3. The query to database is all read. 4. This server load will be at peak for around 3-4 hours after that the load will subside. As the task will be published, around 300,000 will be viewing the page.
5 quad servers are deployed, load is balanced via DNS but performance is not as expected. Centos 5.5 is used as OS. Top command shows The mysql process is around 185%!
I'm running a linux cloud server with the following config 1.2ghz Processor allocation 752MB Ram
The site loads slow and clicking a link almost freezes the page for a second. Also, the page loads could be much faster. We've been running mysqltuner and have pretty much optimized all slow queries. Is there anything we can do to fine tune the server for faster and more responsive?
redirect a domain name with /abc to external ip of web server. Now I can made sure that I should use the rewrite module to achieve this issues. But I don't know how can I enable this function in my apache web server. I will post my httpd.conf for your reference.
I'm trying to enable the rewrite module in apache, to enabled the module I followed the last entry in the fist page this thread:[URL]...When I restart the apache all works fine, so I supose it's enabled
Now I create .htaccess in my apache folder (/home/user/apache), and I write this:
Code: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^link([^/]*).html$ test.php?link=$1 [L] And I try to execute this: ./.htaccess, I have this mistakes: Code: ./.htaccess: 1: RewriteEngine: not found ./.htaccess: 2: Syntax error: "(" unexpected What are I doing wrong?
Running slackware13.1 with mysql on box2 and apache on box1 both in same lan. How do i configure mysql for apache connection? I have looked at many mysql config. howto which i can follow but i'm confused about whether the connection type is considered remote connection because the 2 services are on seperate boxes but are in same lan? Apache will be serving public webpages not just to the lan.
We are working on a new ERP for the company. This will run in MySQL 5.1.x, the GUI will be Web, the language PHP. This is a big project, is a good option to have the 3 applications in the same server or is better to have Mysql on 1 server and httpd+php on other server?
Speaking that I want to virtualize this app with Xen on Centos 5.5 as Host and the guest's will run Ubuntu.
I've recently installed a RedHat Enterprise Linux server and am attempting to get PHP/MySQL installed on it. It cannot load the dynamic php mysql module, giving me an error (in /var/log/error_log) that reads as follows:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/modules/mysql.so' - /usr/lib/php/modules/mysql.so: undefined symbol: executor_globals in Unknown on line 0
(In fact, it fails to load ALL of the dynamic php modules, either with the "undefined symbol: executor_global" or "undefined symbol: core_globals" I DO NOT WANT to compile anything -- I want to stay with stock RedHat released software.

I have a problem with AMXbans. My Linux is Slackware 13.0. , mysql is version 5.0.84, Apache/2.2.13,PHP 5.2.3 from locahost or real IP in internet explorer i see this error " Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 111". In /var/log/httpd/error_log I see this error:
" [error] [client IP] PHP Warning: mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: : 111 in /var/www/htdocs/web/include/config.inc.php on line 48, referer: http://My real IP/web/ //connect to db - "this is line 46" $config->db_host=gethostbyname($config->db_host); "this is line 46" $mysql = mysql_connect($config->db_host,$config->db_user,$config->db_pass) or die (mysql_error()); - "this is line 48"
I run mysqld on another server. I just switched to another dedicated server now, and i'm having trouble connecting to the mysqld server. If i run the php script from the bash console( php connect.php ) it works perfectly and connects to the mysqld server. However, if i run the script from apache ( http://localhost/connect.php ) it returns this: Can't connect to MySQL server on '(mysqld real ip)' (13) Mysql connection from another server(old httpd server) works perfectly, so it's not from the database server.
i have apache and mysql running, i can access my web server by visiting localhost on port 80 but for some reason when it doesnt work when i try using my ISP provided IP address... Good tutorial, using images for a lamp server that has, MySQL,PHP, Apache, FTP with all the fruit for running a server that will host a Gallery, forum and main site
I know there's heaps around for Ubuntu 9.10, but its not quiet what I'm looking for as in Gd, ImageMagick and some extras for Apache mods
I just installed Centos 5.5 on one of my systems today and something is eluding me. Basically I had a web site and forum software (phpBB, but I don't think it's that, other forum software like Xoops does the same thing) running on Fedora 13, and I copied it over to the new Centos installation. Apache is running fine and displays a PHP test file and .html files just fine.
MySQL seems to be fine, I can log into that, show databases etc. Just can't get any forum software to know there is MySQL there. I did change the path of the site, and the databases, and edited /etc/my.cnf and /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf to reflect that. Thought I made the needed changes in /etc/php.ini but who knows. Seemed like everything should have tar'd up and moved easy, but not the case...
I have been tearing my hair out with this. As part of a backend perl script i am holding the Epoch time as session data using apache session and mysql so i can delete sessions after an expiry period. When I retrieve the time it is about three months old even when i only just set it. The code example below best describes the problem:
When I run:Quote:mount -t davfs http://xxxx/webdav /home/USER1I get:Quote:Please enter the username to authenticate with serverhttp://xxxx/webdav or hit enter for none.
Username: USER1 Please enter the password to authenticate user USER1 with server http://xxxx/webdav or hit enter for none.
I'm working on a side project where I would like to install three ubuntu server systems, each with only one task.So server0 would be the apache server, server1 would be the database and server2 would be the file server.which key terms I should be researching?
I started over combining the first parts of this guide: [URL]..ubuntu8.04 (Only the first few parts in terms of configuration and naming). Then I used this guide: [URL]..Surprisingly enough all steps worked.
1. Now I need to set up LAMP servers with MySQL master/slave replication and Apache rsync.
2. Next i need to add BIND to both my Load Balancers with master/slave backup and replication...
Are there any guides to look at to follow on these? Can tou point me to the right direction for BIND with replication.
I have install Mandriva 2009 and install apache server but its not strating on default configuration file . What I should do for starting apache . i have tried /etc/init.d/httpd start but apache is not running .
I am running apache httpd-2.2.3-43.el5.centos.3 When i restart the http, it says the following error "Invalid command 'JkSet', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration "
Do I need to install anything like tomcat? or include any configuration setting in apache? kernel version: 2.6.18-194.32.1.el5
I am configuring apche on rhel5, I got default page successfully, and virtual page too, when I keep only one file index.html in virtual folder it goes well, that file opens correctly, but when I keep other html files except index.html server shows default page again.
Since upgrading from Wheezy to Jessie I have not been able to start the MySQL-server. When I do a "systemctl start mysql" I get the following answer on the console:
Job for mysql.service failed. See 'systemctl status mysql.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details. Entering 'systemctl status mysql.service' the answer is: ● mysql.service - LSB: Start and stop the mysql database server daemon Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/mysql) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Don 2015-06-18 18:35:41 CEST; 4min 1s ago Process: 11272 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/mysql start (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
syslog and hostname.err don't show any pertinent messages.
I am new to linux. Currently I am using ubuntu 8.10 desktop operating system. As part of my academic project. I need to configure webserver to access from external. I installed all these using apt-get packages but when it comes to configuration. I am really not understanding. I read some documentation about this configuration but I couldn't get and fully in confused. I formatted my machine 3 times. When I tried to use localhost in firefox its working fine.
1. I need to change port from 80 to 7574. In port.conf I changed, in place of 80. I kept 7574. After that I restart and tried to access but its not working.
2. My admin provide to me. 7574 port to route it into my machine. When the user hits for suppose: 59.160.188.190:7574/project/route.html It should goes to: 192.168.202.236:7574/project/route.html Project folder is in /var/www I wrote the form, to update user vehicle details. They can able to update their details in mysql server from any where.
3. Just I need the application user can access my files and update from their desktop by using path: 59.160.188.190:7574/project
How to update user details (there is no login form is directly visible to every one) in server from their desktop. What I need to configure.
I have apache running on my server, and also Zoneminder, a surveillance system running on the same machine. Both services runs without glitches, and I think apache's config as well as ZM's config are fine. I am not sure I understand how apache (not to mention the whole thing zoneminder, apache, web browser...) works. Pretty hard to manage when you dont know what you are doing. Also, when I try the supposed to work zoneminder webpage in my web browser, I get nothing (a blank page), or sometimes a "Not found" error message. The latest seems to be from apache because it is the same font as the "It works!" message when I try http://localhost:80
The only bit of information I have so far is in the apache error log (/var/log/httpd/error_log) and it says: Code: [Sun Mar 21 00:35:14 2010] [error] [client 192.168.0.100] script '/srv/httpd/htdocs/zm.php' not found or unable to stat [Sun Mar 21 00:46:04 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /srv/httpd/htdocs/zm It seems that the "zm.php" is missing.... That would be why Apache cant find the page?
i have several sites hosted on one machine (Apache 2.2 on Debian). They are configured at /etc/apache2/sites-available/ with this configuration (part of it):
CentOS 5.5 + Apache 2.2(httpd.conf) + SSL confiuguration(ssl.conf) gives following error in FireFox.Secure connection failed. An error occured during a connection to localhost.SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum possible length.Errorcode:s_error_rx_record_too_longThe page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
At the moment I am having a problem with the MySQL server on my VPS. It's a completely fresh install of both Debian 5 and MySQL but the problem is upon logging in I get:
[root@boris ~]#mysql -u root -p Enter password: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I have installed latest Nagios and Nagios plugins. Nagios is working properly, but when I go to the browser n write the www.server-name.com/nagios, it gives Not Found The requested URL /nagios/ was not found on this server. How can I tell Apache to open Nagios on adding /nagios in my URL.
