I'm looking for a tool that will do a job similar to "tail -f". I have a file that is being modified at certain intervals and I want to open that file and see these modifications as they happen.
"tail -f" will only show new lines that are appended to the end of a file and what I need is something that will reflect any changes to the file content anywhere in the file at some specified intervals.
The last I knew, there still didn't exist a VNC Viewer program for Linux that has UltraVNC or TightVNC file transfer. Is this still the case? I've looked around and so far I haven't found a Linux client that supports either Tight or Ultra file transfer. For example, we are currently connecting to Windoze servers that run UltraVNC server. It would be nice if the Linux VNC client could support file transfer. The alternative is to run the VNC viewers in Wine but I'd rather use a native Linux one if there is such a thing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't make use of the Gnome log file viewer anymore. Seconds after I start it, it will gray out and proceed to steadily lay claim to all my available RAM. It doesn't matter which log I choose, or if I don't choose one at all. Same thing. I have 1GB RAM, and when I took the included screencap the log viewer had taken almost 80% of it. It was at 90% before I forced a shutdown of the process. Does anyone have the slightest idea what might be causing this?

"Failed to print document
Printing is not supported on this printer."
I like the easy readability of fwlogwatch (as compared to the Log File Viewer). But fwlogwatch doesn't display port number or date when I run it in terminal.
Is there a log viewer that displays clean like fwlogwatch but displays all the information that Log File Viewer does?

I've just installed F11 (x86_64) on my computer. I've been using x86_64 since Fedora 7 and normally I use a manually installed i386 firefox/thunderbird. This time I've tried to do the same using Fireox 3.5b4 but I got many troubles. The last error I got is:

so, I shrunk my recovery in Windows 7 successfully, and booted into my Fedora 12 live cd to run Gparted, and move the partitions so that the free space could go towards fedora, I did such, and then I couldn't expand the partition to my dismay. Next, I woke up this morning, tried to boot to fedora to run SSH, grub loaded, but when I tried to boot fedora, I got the "File system check failed" error, and when I tried 7, it just went to a blank screen with a single "_" in the top left-hand corner.
All my torrents go to my home/username/Download/ folder, I could read/write yesterday but now I cant even copy the files to a flash drive.The error i get is "Cannot create regular file '/home/username/Download/file' : Read only file system.

I downloaded three iso-images, 1 dvd-image and 2 cd-images:

Being paranoid, I created iso-files from the burnt DVD-R and the two burnt CD-R to verify integrity.
The iso-file of the DVD-R was identical to the downloaded image. Both iso-files created from the CD-R were different in size.
The original size of openSUSE-11.3-KDE4-LiveCD-i686.iso is 719.323.136 Bytes.
I only got 718.938.112 Bytes when recreating an ISO-file from my CD-R.
The CD-R is from Sony. When the length of my ISO-file doesn't correspond to the downloaded one, the checksum file verification doesn't work.

There's one game in the bundle that doesn't offer a 64bit build and therefore it fails to load. Of course the 64bit libs for OpenGL and the propitiatory nvidia drivers are installed, but the game asks for the 32bit ones, at least to my understanding. I do know that why can install 32bit libraries on a 64 bit linux system (we do that for the sake of crappy Adobe Flash), but I don't know where to find these libs (searching the repo with keywords like .i586 or ia32 led me nowhere).
