Programming :: Print, Store Or Compare An S8 Data Type?
Feb 15, 2011
I'm working with Radiotap headers right now. I want to get the RSSI data. I came through a problem that I can't figure out right now.The value that I need to get is:
Code:
s8 IEEE80211_RADIOTAP_DBM_ANTSIGNAL
now, when I printf it:
I am trying to generic way to convert the string datatype to other primitive data type. To achieve, i used Template . But i getting error and couldn't resolve the issue and error reported is also clueless.
and I get this error simply running the program from the command line: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 at ./submit.cgi line 24.
is this the right syntax to use, both, for this line:
my (@param) = $cgi->param("firstname","lastname","type") ;
as well as this one:
$sth=$dbh->prepare ("SELECT firstname,lastname,type FROM dts WHERE firstname LIKE $param[0] AND lastname LIKE $param[1] and type LIKE $param[2]" );
or should there be quotes around the $param[0] or something? (also is it $param[0] or $param(0)?)
I am trying to store the data in my program in a map of priority_queues an I am having a bit of trouble doing it. basically I am storing activities (ie watching tv, eating dinner, playing ping-pong, etc) and I want these event grouped by the day that they happened on. my first thought was to use a multimap where the key is the date, and the value is the activity, however I would like to keep the activities in a specific order. I have tried to find the proper syntax for this but have frustratingly come up empty. Even google provided little assistance.
I have a requirment where I have to store some data before the system goes to hibernate. How the kernel intimates to the application when it goes to hibernate. Is there any event or a signal that kernel posts to all applications?
I am writting a program that reads a text file (music.txt) & stores it in a Data Structure. I am a novice learning over the internet so I this is something I have never done. How do I do this?
Quote:
Write a program that reads the data from the music.txt file and store it in a data structure. To implement this data structure you must use an array of songs and each song must be represented by a struct with appropriate fields. So far all I can do is open to file to read it (very simple I know) but so far is it correct?
I have two students whose windows laptops are riddled with malware and not working properly. They want me to help them install Linux (which we use in school), but they are concerned about their iTunes.
Having avoided iPods as "defective by design", I know nothing about iTunes whatsoever. However I remember reading about DRM locking and such problems that have me concerned that I won't be able to do it.
Where does iTunes store its stuff?
Can I copy its data store to an external drive, and then into a linux home?
Then will it work on wine, or can another manager (rhythmbox etc) access the itunes data?
Alternatively, if I partition the drive and install linux, can rythmbox/wine/something access itunes data on the win partition?
Supposing they are buying music through iTunes, what will happen to that account?
Finally, one of them has an iphone. Does that work with linux?
Ironic that an apple application is blocking migration away from windows.
I declared a variable as int data type which was a placeholder for a resulttatus (meaning, based on the result status that variable varies from 0/1/2/3. It can contain only these four values).data type is 4 byte integer in C#. But I can declare this variable as which represents a 1 byte integer. Since that variable contains only 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, declaring the variable asis wastage of memory space. Before declaring any variable we need to just think of the memory space needed for that variable, our requirement,
in c/c++, double is usually 8 bytes. It has a 52-bit mantissa (or significand, or base), an 11-bit exponent, and a 1-bit sign. My question is: is the mantissa a 52-bit integer? Or is the decimal point just after the first bit. Meaning: if the mantissa was 1000110011100011 (in binary) would that make the value of the mantissa (assuming the exponent was 0) 1000110011100011, or 1.000110011100011? (in binary)
I have a problem - I have files with rows of data and I need to check if the next row (of the same type) has the NEXT date in it so I need to extract a date in YYYYMMDD format from a row (easy enough) then add one day to it and compare it to the the next date I encounter on a subsequent row.
I am trying to compare a list of patterns from one file and grep them against another file and print out only the unique patterns. Unfortunately these files are so large that they have yet to run to completion. Here's the command that I used:
Code: grep -L -f file_one.txt file_two.txt > output.output Here's some example data:
I am trying to write a program in C which compares two files and prints the line that is equal.
Here file1.txt has
and file2.txt has
Note: file2.txt consist of only a single string where as file2.txt has multiple lines. Actually im comparing two files with md5sum values.
Here is the code but it compares only first line of files..but it should compare the whole file1..and sorry iam a beginner in C can any1 sujest some modification to this code so that..it can compare file2 with entire file1
I have a problem with arrays in awk. What i want is to take some data from a file (ssh log) and print it to a html table. I have managed to print some stuff (user logged in and how many times they have logged in) What i want more is to take all the ip that each user logged in from and print it in a row next to the username and times (in the code i typed blabbla where i want the ip to be shown. How do you think i should approch that, multidimensional arrys maybe?
I have to write a script that accepts two directory names (JIIT, JUIT) as positional parameters and checks which files are identical in both directories and files having same contents are also considered as identical in same directory. I tried using diff:
#both directories contain three files...file1, file2, file3 echo "Enter the directories:" read d1 read d2 cd $d1
if diff file1.sh file2.sh > /dev/null then echo same 1,2 else echo different fi
if diff file1.sh file3.sh > /dev/null then echo same 1,3 else echo different fi
if diff file2.sh file3.sh > /dev/null then echo same 3,2 else echo different fi
cd ../ cd $d2 .....
I used the same code in the other directory for the three files. This is not running. I also want to know what to do when I need to compare files from different directories. i.e., JIIT, JUIT..
In my system around 73gb(pc-desktop) i have,1 primary partition(windows)-25gb, 1-extended partition(remaining gb) 3 logical partitions were there in (under) extended partition in one of the logical partition is d:drive. in my hard disk d: drive is -/dev/sda5
previosly i was fat -file system , (d:drive-/dev/sda5), i remember i changed the d: drive(d:drive-/dev/sda5) file system to ext4file system ,with following command using terminal
After doing(changing the file system)this one ,i couldnt see the d:drive data
By doing that
1q) Did i reformatted the partition? i think the new filesystem(ext4) has no knowledge of the data that was on it when it had a FAT filesystem.
2q) How to do undo operation,i tried to change the filesystem type to fat/ntfs in terminal using command --sudo mkfs -t FAT /dev/sda5.
Result:its showing text message-'mkfs.FAT: No such file or directory'(not in single quote)
I am running Debian on a 4 years old pentium machine. I have recently switched from Windows to Linux, so I'm still preferring the graphical user interface (Gnome is very good for me).
Now my problem: My harddisk becomes too small for the data I am storing and processing (pics, music, videos), and I would like to fit a larger one. So afterwards, I will need to reinstall debian and all the software I now have in it. How can I store a list of the currently installed software? (I can view it with the gnome apt software manager (also with synaptic), but I did not find a way how to store or print it).
Or, could I possibly save the whole system on an external harddisk and restore from that afterwards, as I do with the data?
I have 2 files to compare and then print out information that match a certain pattern. I know basic scripting and was heading down the path of merging the 2 files together but this is the wrong approach. Would really appreciate a script that can do what is required:
file 1 contains dates, times and ID's: 2010-10-28 10:42 5939697357 2010-10-28 11:56 5919543491
What is the best and simplest way to compare two directory structures without actually comparing the data in files. This works fine: diff -qr dir1 dir2 But it's really slow because it's comparing files too. Is there a switch for diff or another simple cli tool to do this?
I have some data ( seperated by semicolon ) with close to 240 rows in a text file temp1. temp2.txt stores 204 rows of data ( seperated by semicolon ). I want to : Sort the data in both files by field1.i.e first data field in every row. compare the data in both files and print out the rows that are not equal in seperate files. I was trying to do this with excel using vlookup, without a great deal of success. hence, i'm exploring the shell script option.
After a prolonged absence, version 4.10, I have started dabbling with Ubuntu again. It was a HDD crashing that sent me down this path. Needless to say, the ability to backup my user data to a second HDD is an important task to me. I'm currently using Back in Time to accomplish this and all is well. However, there is one thing missing. I can't locate my Tomboy Notes data within the file system. I expected to see a "hidden" folder in my /home, but do not. Where this information is stored so I can back it up as well?
I keep my bank account numbers and passwords in a kwallet file. I would like to buy some external usb flash disk as a backup to keep the file inside. if there is an encrypted way in linux to store the data inthere?
For example: Buy a stick that encrypts the data Encrypt the data by using some filesystem. Does this work on every usb stick?
I am looking for a program to help me store, organise and retrieve information. The aim would be to keep notes from literature, concepts and ideas which i come across during my studies. It's always a hassle to retrieve this information when i have to write a paper for instance. So in fact what i need is a sort of wikipedia-like program where information is searchable and where perhaps hyperlinks could lead me from one word/note to another.
I want to know my DSL bandwidth usage in the last 15 days.I have no network monitoring software installed.I have the default installation and my distribution is Opensuse 11.2.Is there a way I can get that information from the vanilla system?
