The ultimate objective is to set up "copy X selection to clipboard" from urxvt but apparently simple debugging statements are not working.Here's the Perl, taken from here and modified to use xclip instead of xsel and with debugging added, shown in green

Or i just thought of this: i could keep concatenating to a string and just sendmail when done.
I'm writing output of top command to a file However since top does not provide time I would like to append the 'date' command and then write all this to a file.

am running Centos 5.4 and would like to write a small perl script to collect some info from mysql.

Why can't perl find Mysql.pm? I guess because it doesn't exist as I ran find / -name Mysql.pm, and also could not find it.
shouldn't that file have been created and thus exist after I install perl-DBD-mysql?

I want to do some sort of emacs scripting. Means I want to write a script with several commands like searching copying etc. and then execute it inside of emacs. I'm sure this is possible, but I wasn't able to find a way to do so.

I can't figure out what those "~"'s are doing. From the comments it's keeping mtab open to write the next (how many?) commands?
when I use LOG action in some chane of iptables rules, I get the output both in STDOUT or STDERR of the xm console and in /var/log/messages.
Is there way to make iptables to write only to log without writing to console?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to write IPTABLES script to block the ICMP ping using the below mentioned command in OpenSUSE 11.2 Doing this in VMware.....
iptables -A OUTPUT -o eth0 -p icmp -j DROP
& then I tried to ping the different computer & it didnt allow me to ping.
Then I deleted using the command -
iptables -D OUTPUT -o eth0 -p icmp -j DROP
then I couldnt ping also. Another thing I found is my firefox is not connecting to the internet as well, but before writing the script, I can connect to internet.
I did a "dhclient" & iptables -F....

Okay now I need a perl script which create or recreate (edit) id3 tags (artist, comment, album, year, cover) of mp3 files stored on my linux centos server. I installed MP3::Tag version 1.13 pearl module to my server. I Searched tutorials about how to use it, finally I get through reading id3 tag of mp3 file but not achieve to modify it or create a new id3tag.
These are the details:
I have a mp3 file called 1.mp3 this script will process that '1.mp3' file read its id3tag if there is one, than modify or create id3tag for it by my fix artist name for example:

Now via this perl script which uses MP3::TAG I will change it's

these are gonna be my fixed values. I mean all '1.mp3' file will have same artist based on script value.
The reason of this script is I will share Dj podcasts on my server and Dj's would have upload their mp3's which has got different id3 tags and cover pics. etc. I want to create more organized podcasts of them by the way I would trigger this perl script via Cronjob.
