OpenSUSE :: Loading The "Skype For Asterisk" Module Provided By Digium?
Jan 29, 2010
I want to use asterisk as a PBX and SIP server using Skype. I have everything planned out but I am having a problem loading the "Skype for Asterisk" module provided by Digium. This module costs roughly $60 and Digium provides its customers with free support. After calling Diguim, the technician was unable to find the problem and said that I "should use a different Linux." I found this advice very hard to swallow as I have grown very fond of my openSUSE.I searched the Digium forums and found that another user had the very same problem with Ubuntu. We compared notes in this forum thread:

We were unable to figure out the problem until another member pointed to a Kernel bug in Ubuntu as the source of the problem. The Kernel where this bug exists is 2.6.31-11. Here is a link with some information on the bug:
I was just wondering if you know of any site/forum that is informative about Asterisk. I have just configured an Atcom IP04 in which Asterisk is embedded. I need to know how to configure the IP-PABX to receive fax and come up with a Skype Gateway to receive/call out on Skype.
I downloaded the latest Skype beta from Skype's site and installed it. When I click on the icon, nothing happens, so I tried from an xterm and I get the error:
skype: error while loading shared libraries: libXv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
I looked up libXv in the software manager, and it looks to be installed.
What do I need to do to get Skype running?
BTW, two question:
Is it standard in case of errors that running from the UI simply does nothing, and there's need to run from a terminal window to see them?
How do I copy text from xterm (in order to paste in a post like this)?
I'm running openSUSE 11.0 (X86-64) and just installed skype 2.1.0.47. When starting it, I get skype: error while loading shared libraries: libQtDBus.so.4: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 Where do I get the correct library from? Or which one should I point it to?
I compiled and installed the Asterisk ztdummy package because there is no rpm for it, unfortunately, and i even reinstalled asterisk, but i still get the "No application 'Meetme' for extension..." error when trying to conference. I do a "module show", and it lists other modules that were compiled with the zt source, but not ztdummy.Does anyone know how to fix this? This is more than a passing interest or hobby, because i need to conference about 3 to 5 people to help me test a new Website Content Management System and User Forums Management System i am about to launch as a service.
I have been using 'radeon' driver in 11.3 for a few days and its working great for my desktop. But then I decided to try the new 10.7 ATI driver and followed the sequence here. Everything went alright, until I get at "Loading the new build module"
[code]...
So I just reboot and now, X is gone, and I'm in runlevel 3. What is wrong here?
I have UBUNTU 9.10 and WIN 7 installed on my computer. I turn computer on, choose UBUNTU, do what I need and shut down computer (or reset - doesn't matter). Turn on computer again and get message:
GRUB loading. no module name found Aborted. Press any key to exit. Operating System Not Found.
So I turn comp from Live CD, install GRUB and after resetting computer everything seems fine - but unfortunately not for long. Next reset and the problem is back again. The problem only occurs when I choose UBUNTU. There is no problem with WIN 7...

I am trying to build a jar file using a ant script provided by a vendor and while running the script, I am getting the below connection time out error when it tries to download a jar file.
Code: C:ccuapi-java>ant run Buildfile: build.xml get_libs: [get] Getting: http://download.java.net/maven/2/args4j/args4j/2.0.12/args4j-2.0.12.jar [get] To: C:ccuapi-javaargs4j-2.0.12args4j-2.0.12.jar
fedora 12 with php 5.3.1 + apache is installed on the server
I needed a FFMPEG + MENCODER + FFMPEG-PHP setup , so I have installed all of the necessary libraries/codecs along with ffmpeg , mencoder and ffmpeg-php
I've added ffmpeg-php (ffmpeg.so) module to php.ini and restarted httpd
But ffmpeg was not showing up in phpinfo() so I grepped : php -i | grep ffmpeg for some clues and got this warning PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php/modules/ffmpeg.so' - /usr/lib/php/modules/ffmpeg.so: undefined symbol: php_gd_gdImageSetPixel in Unknown on line 0
That error explains why ffmpeg is not loading
Obviously something to do with GD library , so I've researched on the net , and found that some users suggest loading the GD module before FFMPEG module.
I gave it a try and added this at the end of php.ini: Code: [gd] ;loading gd extension=gd.so [ffmpeg] ;loading ffmpeg extension=ffmpeg.so ...but still same error when greping phpinfo()
I was trying to copy a few files to my phone via bluetooth when the file transfer window popped up with the progress bar stating "Connecting" and an error: the name org.openbox.client was not provided by any .service files..
I am using: openSUSE 11.3 Gnome 2.32, Kernel 2.6.38, obex-data-server 0.4.5-12.2,
I've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:
Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
Recently i was about to installing skype, for that i have to check the repostory in the software Source...after that it shows me the message for Reload and then it starts Downloading but at the last it shows me the message "Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. "

OK Trying a fresh install of bnome openSuse, and I have certainly screwwed something up again and hope I don't have to reinstall again., arghhhh! Tomboy won't open, even after reinstallation, and below is the error, but first, as well I can't open my .odt file with openoffice writer!

I wanted to install TeamViewer (for Linux). I downloaded the RPM, but when I double-clicked on it to start the installation I got the following error: The name org.freedesktop.PackageKit was not provided by any .service files I Googled around for possible solutions but I couldn't find any. Does anyone know how to fix this error and install TeamViewer? I'm using openSUSE 11.2 with GNOME desktop.
The rsync module "opensuse-full" which worked well so far seems currently broken. It tries to mirror a huge number of additional stuff (factory?) but fails with "permission denied". Any place where I could report this?Command:
I have a fresh install of openSUSE 11.4 with KDE. This includes ALSA and Pulseaudio.
I have a mic and speakers and a webcam. As far as I can see microphone and sound reproduction work, the webcam also works: - I can arecord and aplay - KMix works - amixer and alsamixer work (I am using microphone boost) - test sounds play - the webcam works in "Personal Settings (Configure Desktop)": Hardware > Multimedia > Phonon (test camera) - Pidgin and Empathy work with sound and video. (had to set this: gconftool-2 --set --type=string /system/gstreamer/0.10/default/audiosrc pulsesrc, without this setting it was set to alsasrc by default and Pidgin and Empathy didn't work).
I installed Skype 2.2 (also tried 2.1) and tested the video camera in Skype. Result: doesn't work. I made a test call: I hear the voice of the lady answering the call, but my own voice is not recorded. In Skype everything is set to use Pulseaudio.
I am at a total loss to understand what is going wrong here. Why does Skype not work, when everything else does??
I made this observation: When an application records something, a "Capture stream" shows up in the KMix "Capture Streams" tab. For example, when I use arecord, "ALSA capture" shows up, while I record. When I make a call on Empathy, a capture stream shows up in the said tab.
When I make a Skype call, NO capture stream shows up, so obviously Skype is not capturing anything.
hJust installed brand new Centos 5.6 and skype, according to centos wiki (http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Skype) Getting these errors: skype: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by skype)
