View 7 RepliesAs soon as I launch terminal I get the following:
[...]: command not found
[...]: command not found
And it then goes to a $~ prompt as usual. How do I make it so the two commands it is trying to launch don't run upon launching terminal?
I installed a program with Yast (Kmess), but when I try to run it, bash gives me back this message:
Code: kmess: command not found I checked into Yast and it seems to be installed correctly!
I install openSUSE 11.2rc2 kernel 2.6.31.5-0.1-paeand hamachi-0.9.9.9-20.54.1, on previous version it's work fine, but now when i try to exec hamachi from console i have next message:

View 6 Replies View RelatedI try to run a command located in /sbin or /usr/sbin using sudo, like "sudo ifconfig" or "sudo tail -f /var/log/messages", it comes back with "command not found". If I perform a "sudo -i" and drop to a root shell that way, the commands work fine. My sudoers file is as follows:
Code:

I am having problems installing fortran g95 compiler. I followed the exact instructions listed on the website The G95 Project (click on manual tab for further details), but I am still getting this error when I try using the driver:
shamo@linux-wrws:~> g95
bash: g95: command not found
Here is what I did:
>wget -O - http://ftp.g95.org/g95-x86-linux.tgz | tar xvfz -
The program installed properly, and I was able to verify the installation in /usr/share/g95-install. All the libraries were installed, and I was able to run the actual "executable" when I cd'ed to its directory) Next I created a symbolic link to the driver so that I could run from anywhere using g95 command:
>ln -s $PWD/g95-install/bin/i686-pc-linux-gnu-g95 /usr/bin/g95
Again I was able to verify that the link was created in /usr/bin. I also verified that /usr/bin was on my PATH using $PATH command.
I got this message "f77:command not found",while I was installing a program on linux 10.3. I installed perl-ExtUtils-F77 ,but still I've got that message.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to have a script (tcsh/bash/python) that launches a bunch of gnome-terminals (or 1 with multiple tabs). And I want it to execute a command, but keep the shell interactive. Currently, if you type gnome-terminal then it launches a new interactive shell, but if you give it the execute flag, then it executes the command and quits (or stays open, but non-interactive depending on the users gnome-terminal settings).
I have this command which I want to run automatically before I start working. What the command does is dynamic and different for each shell. It takes arguments. So it's not something I can take care of in a .cshrc type file.
When I open a gtk app from the command line this error pops up:
Code:
Gtk: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "clearlooks", and I can not find clearlooks theme engine anywhere as it is supposed to be part of gtk by default?
Maybe it's just the program i downloaded and maybe something's missing, but when I run ./configure I get the error: ./configure: line 4: ruby: command not found it told me to try cnf configure and it says no such file Is this me, suse or the program I downloaded? Something's wrong here.. Maybe ruby needs installed?

While attempting to uninstall Perl (through Yast) from my SUSE installation, it ended up deleted everything important in OS
compilers are gone, SVN gone.
Its a dedicated server and lots of other applications were running on it.
now it says "-bash: yast: command not found".
I ssh to a remote server which is running in SUSE. And I want to install apache2.0 there. Then I used yast2 to install it. But after installing it, I go to the terminal and type" apache -version" to check if apache is installed there. And it said "-bash: apache: command not found". I don't if I haven't successfully installed it, or I have installed it but just haven't put it into PATH yet. So, my problem is that can anyone tell how to check if I have installed it? If I have installed it, then what is the path of the directory it locates? And if I haven't probably installed it, then can you tell me the how I can installed it? And I am asked to install apache mod_wsgi as well.
View 9 Replies View Relatedkate is my favorite text editor, and everything was working fine until recently. Whenever launching Kate, whether by opening a text file or by clicking the Kate icon, a dialog box pops up that KDEInit could not launch 'konsole'. In the background, a konsole window flashes briefly before disappearing. The baffling thing is, that if I click the "run Kate" shortcut, instead of the Kate shortcut, then Kate launches normally. I'm running 11.2 with all the updates installed

I own a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 1000 which I'm overall pleased with. The keyboard has some extra media and application launching keys which I try to assign in systemsettings>Input Actions. I believe the application is called khotkeys, however I'm not sure. Four different cases occurred as follows: The keys are recognized and can be assigned a command to run. When settings are saved the specified application launches. Examples of keys that works:
Code:
Physical key symbol : Recognized by khotkeys as : HEX code send by keyboard (obtained by showkeys)
Headphones : Tools : keycode 171 press, keycode 171 release
House : Home Page : keycode 172 press, keycode 172 release
All media keys (play/pause, next, prev, stop, vol-up, vol-down & mute)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know my way around MS Windows much better, but I just don't feel right trying to program something for Android on a Microsoft operating system. I am interested in Android programming so I followed the instructions on [URL] to install the environment on my computer...
I just installed the JDK, SDK, Eclipse successfully (or I assume):
* When I get to Step 4 where I'm supposed to run 'android' it will not run. I get the error message "android: command not found" (I am definitely in the right directory).

NOTES:
- The (parenthesis: ) are my notes to show you what I was doing.
- Lines with "#" before them are what I typed into Terminal.
- Lines below (Output: ) are what was output by Terminal.
Code:
(run in su:)
lspci -n | grep 14e4
(output:)
04:00.0 0280: 14e4:4727 (rev 01)
(BUILD DRIVER:)

<password>
# mkdir hybrid_wl
# cd hybrid_wl
# tar xzf <path>/hybrid-portsrc_x86-32_v5.100.82.38.tar.gz
# make

if 'make' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, cnf make
(NOTE: with "cnf" it is saying "Cannot Find")
(install "make" command:)
# zypper in -t pattern devel_basis
(It installs 93 packages)
# make
(output:)
kbuild_nopedantic=1 make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r` /build M=`pwd`
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.34-12-desktop/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2
(Tried:)
# zypper in kernel-source
(It installed 3 more packages)
# make

The problem might be derived from the fact I had to install openSUSE in Kernel (F6) > Safe Mode. If I need to install more things, please let me know ASAP! I am wired to my ethernet until then, which means I can't move from this spot until my wireless is working!
I am a linux newbie, and recently started shell programming. whenever I use 'let' command it gives me an error 'command not found'. I am using ubuntu 9.10 with bash.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting CSF working with Hamachi. I know Hamachi uses ham0 but has to use eth0 to establish a connection to the VPN servers. When I turn on CSF, hamachi seems to die but I opened the ports in CSF (443,12975,32976,17771)... I keep getting login fail when start Hamachi up. I'm guessing this has to deal with CSF/iptables but no clue on how to setup those rules to work with Hamachi.
