How do I fix this stunnel error in Fedora 15(LoveLock)? I previously have been able to run stunnel in Fedora 14 and had stunnel up and running. Just recently moved to Fedora 15 LoveLock and now stunnel returns the following fail mesage when I try to restart stunnel.# /etc/init.d/stunnel startStarting stunnel (via systemctl): Job failed. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 2 services registered one for HAProxy and one for stunnel. When I type service start haproxy or service start stunnel they start and everything works fine. I ran ntsysv and they are set as autostart, and I have init.d scripts that work. I have checked the runlevel and using chkconfig runlevel 3, 4 and 5 are :on. And I also added service haproxy start and service stunnel start to inittab. But when I restart the computer haproxy and stunnel fail to autostart. I am a fedora novice and I have no idea why this isn't working...

I have set up stunnel for ssl and this works with thunderbird (set to route through stunnel with no ssl in thunderbird). I am trying to use ssmtp as I don't need all the complexity of sendmail - just trying to use an [URL]..account It complains that my address is not verified. I think the from line is not set up properly but I have been unable to see this in the stunnel logs and ssmtp doesn't seem to have logs. Is there a way to get more logs from stunnel. How do I make sure I am sending the right email and not something like "localhost"?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just updated my Squeeze system. The update included a newer version of network-manager (and it can not be more than a few hours old). After the update all network functionality on my machine (via knetwork-manager) is broken. The GUI applet has no effect.
Hence can anyone help me: a) Downgrade network-manager by one version; b) Find out what is causing knetworkmanager to break; c) See if the problem is with knetworkmanager or network-manager.
I just got a set of updates from Xorg11 (Index of /repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.1/i586) repository and now, my X doesn't come up. During update, zypper complained about xorg-x11-libxcb and it didn't get updated. On further investigation I noticed that libxcb-xlib.so.0.0.0 is missing in the new package (version 7.4-4.2. The one currently installed in 7.4-1.24).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my main file server from 10.3 to 11.1 by DVD (I did *not* have a chance to do a zypper up after, so it's the base 11.1 install), and in upgrading my Samba from 3.0.23b to 3.2.4, I seem to have broken winbind resolution of group names. wbinfo -g shows all the right group name entries, and getent group shows that they map to the proper GID numbers... it's just that ls isn't seeing them: I get domain usernames, but the group column is 5 digit numeric GIDs in my defined range. I infer that something broke PAM, but I'm not enough of a PAM jockey to know what. I don't have a pam.d/winbind, but I'm not clear that I'm supposed to. I see that the four pam.d/common-* files were touched, but their contents are the same as the older ones I have.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 11.1 on a computer. I updated it yesterday. Now K3B, VLC, and XDVDShrink are all broken. Possibly other programs broken as well. VLC refuses to uninstall via Yast. These are high-priority programs for this computer. Multiple people use this computer for multimedia and there is not much to entertain ourselves with in our very cold climate. In other words, it is mandatory that K3B, VLC and XDVDShrink return to operational status.
Should I just upgrade to 11.3, try to fix the broken 11.1? I prefer using KDE3, not KDE4, but I can sacrifice.
When I execute Eclipse or Firefox remotely using ssh (on a LAN using ssh -Y user@remote-machine eclipse) they both look strange, the colors are kind of yellow. Logging in to the remote machine using NX or VNC and executing the same apps does not produce the same colors, the apps look fine. Executing the same apps on my local machine does not produce the strange colors either.The remote machine is a SLES 11 and the local is a openSUSE 11.3 (with KDE 4.5.2).This might seem like a small problem but it is annoying to work a whole day like this when the remote apps looks like **** on my otherwise beautiful KDE desktop
View 2 Replies View RelatedI updated my fedora 12 GNOME installation. Now Compiz fusion is not working. It says Accelerated 3D support not found. Though Nvidia drivers are already installed. Now I can't even ALT+TAB between open applications.
I tried "metacity -- replace" but then windows wore a weird look with only a minimize button. No sign of maximise & close buttons.
I updated last night and after a reboot I can get the GDM login but as my desktop loads it suddenly stops and complains of an error and won't load. If I load legacy Gnome desktop with Compiz it loads but ALL the lettering and words on the interface are messed up. By this I mean the letters are upside down and the words are spelt backwards. The mouse menus also work in reverse as in the menus themselves are also upside down and the highlighting moves from bottom to top as I move down the menu. Amusing but not what I want from my computer. There is nothing in /var/log/messages or /var/log/Xorg.0.log that would indicate anything is wrong.
I sooo don't want to have to rebuild, again, because of instabilities in F15 updates.
It seems that updating the Kernel breaks my installation. I've tried it twice, and both times it disabled my gui desktop. I'm posting this with links2 in my terminal. The terminal works perfectly.
This is really annoying, as I can't even use my computer. What do you think is the problem?
I updated my server (Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) today and had about 23 updates in Webmin. After the update suddenly apache doesn't render php pages anymore, instead letting you download the source code for the scripts. I checked the logs and found this:

I also hope that this was a glitch and that updates that break stuff like this don't get through QA.
a fresh install of 10.04 all worked well installed apps as i wanted all went well... system update download completed no restart required... restarted anyway only get grub prompt... repeated this operation twice.... how do i fix getting fed up with ubuntu promising easy of use ...

After that I noticed the shutdown was not working anymore, it just restarted instead of powering down. This morning it wouldn't boot squeeze anymore, when grub starts and prints "Welcome to grub" (or something like that) the list of operating systems is not shown.
I noticed the updated also included grub and I saw it correctly detected my operating systems.
I am planning to boot knoppix soon and try to reinstall grub from chroot, but currently I am at work.
I installed Chromium via a repo generously maintained by Tom "Spot" Callaway. Since it's his repo I thought I'd contact him, but I don't really know how - so I'm brining my issue to the forum to see if anyone has a possible solution.I've been using Tom's Chromium fine for the past couple months. After a "yum update", Flash no longer works in Chromium. It works in Firefox. If I try to play any Flash videos it's just a blank box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter I had upgraded the system to Fedora 14, the icons for pretty much everything except for programs and plain text files in gnome theme (and every other theme that shares them) became inaccessible - they are replaced by a standard icon that appears when no other is found. Other themes, that share no icon with gnome (tango, gnome-colors, etc.), work correctly. I'm using Xfce desktop.
I've deleted icon-theme.cache, but it did nothing.
Any suggestions, what may be causing this?
I run an Aspire One 522 with a Broadcom BCM4313-Wlan-Card and Fedora 15. To run the card, I had to install der broadcom-wl-Driver, as described here: [URL]... It worked okay. (Althought not perfect. It crushed everytime the whole system, when it tried to connect to a WLAN-Net, unless I first started the Windows on the computer, then shut it down and restarted Fedora. But maybe thats some strange Dual-Boot-thing.) Anyway. After I updated the Kernel to 2.6.40 it seems to be broken. I deleted the driver, reinstalled it, tried the B43-driver. But no mater what: It seems like the NetworkManager doesn't find the card at all. lsmod shows that a modul "wl" is running. And - as mentioned - I installed the Kernel and the two other packages fresh form the repositories.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI did an update during a time when power was cycling due do a nasty snow storm, but I'm pretty sure the update was completed successfully before I lost power. What did happen though is that my BIOS setup was reset.
Now if my HP Laserjet 1020 is plugged into USB during boot all other USB devices freeze for a while. So I played with my BIOS setting for USB:
- Enabled V1.1 and V2.0
- Disabled System USB Shadowing
So now my bootup doesn't hang. But now when I actually go into Karmic I still can't print.
dmesg shows the following:

My problem is as the topic says.
My port 80 seems to be already taken. lighttpd fails to start reporting that it cannot bind to port cause its already taken.
The error message itself:

I am not able to crack this by myself. Ihve tried investigating this by

netstat -ape | grep -v unix
First doesn't show anything second anything abt port 80.
Now hints I can think of. Maybe you have more experience and ideas what I can do and where should I look for the culprit.
I am using debian (unstable) and lighttpd. I even tried rebooting; it says that the port is taken already at the boot sequence (well it starts pretty much at end anyway but the system should be clean).
It seems that it started failing after a major distro update, so maybe there are some conflicts based on ipv6/v4 or something, though I have no idea what it could be. Well my hit for that is the part of error msg "bind to port: :: 80 ". This "::" looks like ipv6 naming convention. Maybe its lighttpd internal.
I would like to be able to monitor which programs are allowed to access the internet, but a search for programs to do this has turned up nothing. Preferably, I would like a notification to come up every time an application uses the internet. Is there any (n00b friendly) software available to do that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just updated my kernel to the latest version (2.6.35-24). Now my suspend function on my Thinkpad SL510 no longer works. The system simply hangs with a solid cursor in the corner of a black screen. USB devices remain powered on, HDD keeps spinning, and all indicator lights remain lit. When this happens, the only thing I can do is hold the power button down for a hard power off.My first thought would be to troubleshoot this with dmesg, but I don't know how to record dmesg after a power off. The message buffer is reset when I reboot.

Imagine that you are at work using your computer. You lock the keyboard and you go home(you didn't turn it off). You go home and you login to work's computer. What I want to see is the same if I was just unlocking works's computer. IS that possible and how?
