OpenSUSE :: IFolder Enterprise Plugins Dependencies?
Aug 1, 2011I'm trying to configure iFolder Enterprise on an openSUSE 11.3 machine, but i'm having problems when I try to install the package novell-ifolder-enterprise-plugins. The error message is "nothing provides simias.LdapProvider = 1.8.3.0". I've installed the main package of novell-ifolder-enterprise and his dependencies without problems. After this error, i've installed simias package, but when I try to install again the ifolder's plugins, the same error appears. I've used the following repository to install the ifolder packages:

Feb 8, 2011Anyone out there having expirience with iFolder. I've used the following tutorial: [URL] to install it. I used libflaim as a database (no LDAP). All web interfaces work well (admin, ifolder). I can create users and make folders. But when I try to login with a desktop client (windows or linux) I get an error message invalid credentials and this message in Simias.log:

Jul 21, 2010I just updated my distribution to 11.3 from 11.2. But now this problem occurs when I try to play an mp3. There was no problem before with 11.2.

Only certain mp3s have this problem. All gstreamer packages have been installed. What package is missing anyway?

Feb 6, 2010I recently installed iFolder server on my 9.0.4 desktop computer.
I cannot login as a user using a web interface or client. Using the correct password, it takes a long time, then tells me that the login may be incorrect. With an incorrect password, it tells me this immediately.
I am able to login to the web admin interface, but the "System" tab will generate the following error after several minutes. code...

Without any info being offered in the player, I looked on line. Many people had problems with other plugins, and most of the time it was a problem with an uninstalled python package. But I checked on this site and I found that I had all of these packages installed. (Well, the python ones at least, to check all of them would take forever.)

What could be the problem? Is it serious issue? I have been having security issues with Windows and are those issues begun once again? I have been under targeted attack since 2005.

It may be lazy but if it takes a lot of navigation then it would be handy to somehow activate sudo from the open window without the terminal command (gksudo nautilus) which always begins at root.

Jun 24, 2010I had the above message when I first installed openSuse and tried to play DVDs. I tried googling the above message, thinking that I was missing some software. It turned out that the message simply meant that it couldn't find the dvd.
Messages such as:
Cannot find plugin for MRL [cdda:/]
Cannot find plugin for MRL [dvd:/]
Basically mean that SuSE is having problems finding a cd or dvd. This is most likely due to symbolic links for cdrom and/or dvd not being present.
I was having this problem on Kaffeine. Also having problems playing dvds on smplayer and VLC player.
I found the answer to the problem on the following thread (all credit to jdmcdaniel3 for the key initial post), which does a very thorough job of explaining about the 70-persistent-cd.rules file, where to find it, and what you can do with it.

The thread explains how to edit the 70-persistent-cd-rules file or, better, to create a copy called 90-persistent-cd.rules and edit that file to add symbolic link entries for cdrom and/or dvd if they are missing. Doing this it is possible for the cdrom and dvd symbolic links to point to the same physical drive or to different drives, depending on what you wish to do.
Kaffeine seems to expect to find things in cdrom and dvd. It will work once you have set up the symbolic links for these as described in the above post.
If you simply look at the 70-persistent-cd.rules file, you will see the symbolic links allocated to the cd/dvd drive(s) on your system. If you make a note of these symbolic link values you can use them to set the drive information in applications such as smplayer or VLC player :
VLC player - go into Media/Open Disc and set the drive accordingly, depending on whether you are playing a cd or dvd. Needs to be done each time you play a cd or dvd.
I think creating the 90-persistent-cd.rules file as mentioned above and adding the entry for cdrom and/or dvd may work for other cd/dvd playing software that expects to find these links, but I haven't tested running anything other than smplayer, VLC player and Kaffeine. These cover my requirements.
Following the above I am now able to play cds and dvds in my cd and dvd drive respectively.

I'd rather not have to download the source of nautilus and edit the code / compile it myself.
By the way, a guy on Ubuntu Forums thought this was a mockup. It's not. It's the regular version of Nautilus, only I removed some toolbar buttons through the /usr/share/nautilus/ui xml files.
I just want the location bar next to the toolbar to conserve screen space, and be a bit more like Finder.

Feb 23, 2010Does anybody here use the color theme plugin with GNU emacs? I put the files (color-theme.el and the themes folder) in my load path and everything appears to work, but many of the themes don't display correctly.
On those that fail, only the portions of the buffer which actually contain text are themed, the rest is just plain white. This is particularly noticeable when using a dark background, as I tend to do. If this isn't a good enough description, I can attach a picture.
Just as an example: charcoal-black works perfectly while dark-laptop fails as described.
This problem seems to be unique to openSUSE as the plugin works okay on the Red Hat machines I use at school.

Feb 20, 2010After wrestling with Kaffeine on openSUSE 11.2, I thought I had solve the issue I had with it and I got a new error as described below:
Original Issue: Kaffeine will not play a dvd. Error: Cannot find input plugin for MRL
Then: error no longer appeared, but I got a new error.
New error: "Cannot find demux plugin for MRL "dvd:///dev/sr0""
Of course, I could install Demux, but what is this plugin business? Any ideas? Please, if possible include a little information about what MRL refers to.
