OpenSUSE Multimedia :: Transcode Multiple Mp3 Files To Lower Bitrate?
Jan 21, 2011
howto to transcode multiple mp3 files to another bitrate? I have a lot of 320bits mp3 which should be converted to 192bits before I can play them on my car stereo.
I am new to Linux but i am a fast learner ...! Well, i've been trying lately to get my v4l recognized and well supported tv tuner to work with gv4l http://gv4l.sourceforge.net/. I've already installed transcode http://www.transcoding.org/ and gv4l via source! All with no errors except one major fluke ...! When i am trying to open gv4l a message pops up saying that transcode can't be found or it's not in the programs known path ... I really need to get gv4l working for tv capture needs cause it supports scheduled captures too without having to get along with mythtv that goes a long way from my purposes...! Is anyone familiar with this kind of problem ?? Any ideas about what i am missing or what i should do ?
I have installed transcode to make stabilie videos from handheld camera.
Code: henning@henning-Lenovo-G550:~$ transcode -J stabilize -i ./Videos/MVI_7727.AVI -y null,null -o dummytranscode v1.1.5 (C) 2001-2003 Thomas Oestreich, 2003-2009 Transcode Team libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
Anyone else notice this. You can't increase the view area for the lower section where the project islisted.I could also only burn one data dvd. It wouldn't see the next blank dvd. I had to shut k3b and start again.reported to packman and packager
Update: Experimented with "Hugin". It only distorted all photos according some "projection" and refused to merge them: enblend: excessive overlap detected; remove one of the images. Of course "excessive" - they're all almost in the same place. No averaging? /* and images are not actually aligned */.
Proceeding to experiments with enblend/panorama_tools/ale.
This may be a minor irritation, but I'm puzzled by it nonetheless. I'm ripping my CDs to MP3 using Sound Juicer with the lamemp3enc plugin and following gstreamer pipeline.
All was great a couple days ago, but suddenly the files' audio properties show 48 kbps bitrate when it should be well over 200. I even changed the pipeline to use "target=1 bitrate=256" with the same result. The files are being encoded as expected and that is reflected in the file size and the Statistics view in VLC.
I have two computers running Ubuntu 10.10. One has all the latest updates, but the other has not been updated in several days. This problem is happening on the former, but not the latter. gst-inspect lamemp3enc shows both computers have the same version of the encoder.
I thought I'd put it out to the forum here before submitting a bug in launchpad.
I've been testing with the SoundConverter software and I want to write a script for it.Most music files on my pc are *.flac. But I want to convert some albums to my mp3 player with a script. Everything works fine. I do this:Code:soundconverter -b -m audio/mpeg -s .mp3 *.flacBut the quality is 128kbps.Is there any way to change the bitrate (in the terminal ofcourse)? And if this is not possible, is there an alternative that copies the tags correct like SoundConverter?
I have finally found a native Linux music player that's as light and as simple as Foobar(unfortunately Foobar under Wine is giving me problems so I needed to find a native player). creating custom columns for the player. And since I can't find any DeadBeef forums, I'm hoping people here are familiar with this player.
So, the two main custom columns I'm looking to create are Codec and Bitrate. Codec to show if the tracker is mp3, ogg, flac, etc. And Bitrate to show the bitrate of each track.
Now there's an option in DeadBeef to create columns, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the column to show the info that I want. I was hoping that the way you get custom columns to show up in Foobar would work in DeadBeef. But inputting %bitrate% and %codec% into the columns in DeadBeef does not work.
how to get the two columns that I'm wanting to display the info that I want?
Or at least that's what I figured, when watching videos from ....., etc., the sound in the left channel turns into distorted high frequency noise, anyone had the same issue? Is there a fix for this? Sound in other applications works just fine.EDIT: Oh, and I'm using the proprietary flash plugin, has worked just fine on my Ubuntu Studio on the exact same computer.
I am looking for an application to detect mp3 duplicates using the mp3 spectrograph (sound wave matching) or something similar because simply I have many mp3 files that are the same but with different bitrate,ID3 tags, filesize
I would like to create AAC files using NeroAAC.I have directories of wav files I need to encode and I cannot figure out how to do this with the neroAacEnc command on the command line. The program will not accept neroAacEnc -if *.wav -of *.aac as a valid command, though FAAC, LAME and OggEnc will accept similar commands.I lack the coding skills to write a proper script for it. I'd just like to be able to type in a command and have an entire directory converted from wavs to aacs with the Nero codec. Is this possible? If not, can it be programmed? How?
How I could rename multiple jpg files. Say I copied IMG0001.JPG until IMG0134.JPG from my camera, and want to rename IMG0001 until IMG0064.JPG to 'party01.JPG' untill 'party64.JPG', etc. In windows there was a stupid wizard to rename files when you copied them onto your HD from a camera. Is there any good way to do something similar in ubuntu?
How can I set specific ID3 tags for multiple files? For example, I would like to set all files in a directory to the same album. (directly setting the album tag for files in a directory to the directory name would be even better)
I'm trying to figure out how can I fill up multiple files with easytag. It looks like one can do it by selecting all files and using one of the schemes like " %a - %b/%n - %t " but to be absolutely honest I have no clue how it works. I'd like to fill up all selected files' tags with Artist, Title, Album, Year, Track# and Genre. How can one do it ?
I have used Thoggen; however, there is no way to break the output in to multiple files. I encoded at 1000MB, but now I want to break the file into 40MB chunks. Is there an app that can do this? Does ffmpeg support these feature?
I tried to add my wife , and when I put in a password for her, this error comes up."Please set a valid user name consisting of a lower case letter followed by lower case letters and numbers." I did all that and I still can't set a password for her.
I am trying to record streaming flash video to multiple files each limiting upto 10 mins.Thinking of two possible ways to script,1) saving the files with 10 minute time limit on the fly as I record2) record the whole video as single file and split into multiple files with time limit.
Both Gnome and Gnome-Classic desktops become extremely unmanagebale for me in jessie stable. So I installed xfce desktop in jessie stable. Is there a way to add icons like /usr/bin/skype ]usr/sbin/synaptic.(those nor shown in Add New Icons) in the lower panel which I have extended through the whole desktop? This could easily be done both in gnome and gnome-classic desktops till wheezy.
I am looking for an application (better kde one) that can search two external hard disks I have and find any duplicate files. I did some backups before to one disk which i copied few years ago to the other disk. Right now I would like some program to check files and tell me if there are the same.
This is my third Ubuntu installation, and even with identical hardware, sound volume is dramatically less than under Windows. I turn every slider up all the way, and it is still less than half as loud as Windows.
I just recently installed ubuntu so I'm quite lost on some stuff. This little annoyance comes from the volume levels in Ubuntu 10.04. I have partitioned my computer to have dual boot into windows and ubuntu, so I know the problems are not related to the hardware itself as everything works just fine in windows. I am using a Dell Inspiron 9400, for reference.
The multimedia keys on the computer respond correctly but on the lower three volume settings sound completely drops out as if I had muted the computer. I went into the Alsa mixer to see if I could configure these sound levels and sure enough the master volume was down to zero, PCM and LFE are also low . I changed the settings of the lower levels but when I press on the volume up or down media keys to switch level the settings get reset. I tried just changing one level, exiting and saving through alsactl but it didn't stick. Even after reboot the settings are back to the zero volume on the first levels.
I have a minimal debian install, with not much more than enough to run scrotwm, I want to change the basic arrow cursor to a png I have. Is there a simpler lower level way of achieving this without having to install and modify an existing cursor theme. I installed x11-apps just to get xcursorgen... though idk if this has been an essential step or not. Anyway, I have run it on my arrow.png/arrow.cursor to create a "default" cursor file... though am lost as to where to go from there. I have no idea where the existing default cursor is located, though i suspect it's a font cursor not a icon cursor...
recently downloaded banshee and found it pretty useful. however in the notes for the latest release it says that there is an option to have the cover artin the lower left hand corner. i can't figure out how to get to work at all. i have ubuntu 9.10 and Banshe1.6 Beta 2.would anyone have ideas please? i've spent a couple of hours on this and theres nothing on the net.
opensuse 11.4---I have the lower panel on the desktop that has a firefox shortcut icon..I want to replace it with a google chrome shortcut--how do i do that
I want to (from the command line) be able to counte lines in a bunch of files of a specific type in a folder and all its sub-folders. How would I do this?
I'd like to have a CIFS drive mountable for various users. Each user uses different credentials and I want the drives to be automounted without using sudo-rights. I imagine the best thing to do would be to have the fstab entry point to multiple credentials files. Is there a way of doing that?
