I'm trying to burn a DVD using k3b, and would like to access files from a shared network drive from a Windows machine. I can see the files in Nautilus from "Network Servers" and drilling down to the right directory, I can open the files no problem, but I can't get k3b to recognise them.
Firstly I can't navigate to the network drive from the file tree on the left in K3b.
If I drag and drop the files from Nautilus into k3b, it says "Problems while adding files to the project: No non-local files supported".
If I use Project -> Add Files I can then get to the network drives, but when I select and add the files it says "Remote files not accepted - You can only select local files".
In the end I had to copy all the files using Nautilus from the network share onto a USB stick, burn the DVD and then delete the files again. (I used the USB stick just to see if that counted as more "local" than a network share). Was there an easier / more efficient way to do this that I missed?
I tried six different M3 files using Bresaro Burn to burn to a CD (audio cd) however, one of these files are able to burn to a disc with Bresaro application. I burned the same files using Windows Media Player on my xp desktop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedProblem is with files greater than 4G onto dual layer or BD disks.mkisofs crashes. I believe the problem to be when this requires udf filesystem and disk does not get written to. As yesterday version is suse11.3 patched to date. k3b writes standard dvd disks ok. I am seeing a lot of searches saying this is because of cdrkit rather than cdrtools, can I replace this easily? Is this the case? Tried setting the k3b options when burning to udf same error. Other searches show k3b has fixed probs with these issues, so appears to point to underlying mkisofs stuff full error log in yesterdays post if it helps. I will also try on ubuntu to see if it works there
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the longest I have been unable to burn an audio CD that contains ogg files with GnomeBaker, and have always had to decode to wav manually. Well I'm tired of doing that, so want to get to the bottom of the problem. Upon adding an ogg file to the file list, the error I receive is:
"The plugin to handle a file of type audio/ogg is not installed." I have all the gstreamer0.10-plugins-[base|bad|good|ugly] packages installed. I can play an .ogg file with rhythmbox.
Using gconf-editor, /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/profiles/cdlossy is "active" and the cdlossy profile is listed in /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/global/profile_list At a loss on what I need to do.
I have a problem with burning some disks. I believe the problem to be when the file sizes are large. using suse 11.3 x 64 and updates done. k3b version 2.0.1-1pm 2.7 burned normal dvd yesterday with3.5 Gb + 1.5Gb files. Tried burning to BD-R disk with 11.5 Gb file. I have burned blu ray disks before with my machine but used nero, I would prefer to use k3b as should do this. I installed K3B 2 today on opensuse 11.2, hoping that something may have been done to make it burn disks, I've had these problems since opensuse 11.0.
When I try to burn a cdrw disk it usually fails with the error that the cd drive doesn't like the disk, if I try and expensive disk I sometimes get the same error, but if it does burn successfully and I put the disk back in the drive all I've got is a blank disk which won't take a 2nd burn.
I've tried DVDRWs and as soon as I click burn K3B decides the blank disk needs formatting and this then fails and keeps failing nomatter what I do. If I choose the ignore option for the speed when formatting it seems to format the disk then it takes between 1 & 3 attempts to burn the dissk.
I got the following error message from brasero-session.log when trying to burn a 7.7GB ISO. My system is openSUSE 11.4, Gnome 2.32.

I am not able to burn audio CDs with Brasero 2.30.1, which uses cdrdao 1.2.3 However, Opensuse 11.3 comes with cdrdao 1.2.2 I don't feel comfortable replacing the version myself. Is there any plans to update cdrdao for Opensuse any time soon? PS: I am running Gnome in Opensuse 11.3

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have ubuntu 10.4 installed, everything works on my Toshiba A200-TJ9 laptop except for the built in webcam and mic, as well as the DVD burning function of my multi drive.The drive itself is a HD-DVD Rom with CD/DVD +/- R/RW capabilities.I did a $sudo cdrecord -scanbus and it shows:

Beyond that i know absolutely nothing, and when i put in a blank CD or DVD -R, it shows up as a blank CD/DVD-R, but its properties show as 0 bytes used, 0 bytes free and 0 bytes for capacity. And not surprisingly, Brasero says not enough disc capacity when i try to burn a 2.7 gig file onto the DVD-R.

I simply inserted a blank writable DVD disk into the burner followed the directions on the dialog window and it worked. Can't even remember the name of the software.
But, it's now stopped working.
1. I now get a small dialog that says "Blank DVD Inserted ... Make DVD."
2. I click on "Make DVD"
3. I get cd dvd creator. But window is blank; write to disk is grayed out-- as is "files... Browse Folders."
- This is not what I remember... and not all clear what to do next.
4. I tried installing K3B. But, it tells me it can't find a cd/dvd device on my system. But I have two a Sony DRX-830U connected through USB and generic installed on my system.
I have an AVI converted to a VOB. How do I burn this using K3b or GnomeBaker? When trying to do it with K3B I get errors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'M trying to copy or rip a cd to a .iso file using Nero linux 4 and it just stops at 88%.I have also used brasero and the same thing happens when i right click in nautilus it only rips so far then stop's.Looking on Nero's websites the only dependencies that i don't have is Glibc 2.3.6.I have libglibc 2.24.1. and i can't find 2.3.6 to download.Does anyone know why i can't rip or copy the cd anyway i try to.Maybe it's a dependencies problem but i don't the what dependencies need to be installed.
