Apr 4, 2010For the longest I have been unable to burn an audio CD that contains ogg files with GnomeBaker, and have always had to decode to wav manually. Well I'm tired of doing that, so want to get to the bottom of the problem. Upon adding an ogg file to the file list, the error I receive is:
"The plugin to handle a file of type audio/ogg is not installed." I have all the gstreamer0.10-plugins-[base|bad|good|ugly] packages installed. I can play an .ogg file with rhythmbox.
Using gconf-editor, /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/profiles/cdlossy is "active" and the cdlossy profile is listed in /system/gstreamer/0.10/audio/global/profile_list At a loss on what I need to do.
Debian Multimedia :: Possible To Burn Files From Network Share?
Jan 7, 2011I'm trying to burn a DVD using k3b, and would like to access files from a shared network drive from a Windows machine. I can see the files in Nautilus from "Network Servers" and drilling down to the right directory, I can open the files no problem, but I can't get k3b to recognise them.
Firstly I can't navigate to the network drive from the file tree on the left in K3b.
If I drag and drop the files from Nautilus into k3b, it says "Problems while adding files to the project: No non-local files supported".
If I use Project -> Add Files I can then get to the network drives, but when I select and add the files it says "Remote files not accepted - You can only select local files".
In the end I had to copy all the files using Nautilus from the network share onto a USB stick, burn the DVD and then delete the files again. (I used the USB stick just to see if that counted as more "local" than a network share). Was there an easier / more efficient way to do this that I missed?

Dec 17, 2010This is my first time creating a video DVD from other video files. I drag and dropped 2 .flv files to the area where it tells you to drag them. They appeared there. Then I clicked "Burn..." and brasero disappeared.

Jun 18, 2010I have ubuntu 10.4 installed, everything works on my Toshiba A200-TJ9 laptop except for the built in webcam and mic, as well as the DVD burning function of my multi drive.The drive itself is a HD-DVD Rom with CD/DVD +/- R/RW capabilities.I did a $sudo cdrecord -scanbus and it shows:

Beyond that i know absolutely nothing, and when i put in a blank CD or DVD -R, it shows up as a blank CD/DVD-R, but its properties show as 0 bytes used, 0 bytes free and 0 bytes for capacity. And not surprisingly, Brasero says not enough disc capacity when i try to burn a 2.7 gig file onto the DVD-R.

Nov 3, 2010Problem is with files greater than 4G onto dual layer or BD disks.mkisofs crashes. I believe the problem to be when this requires udf filesystem and disk does not get written to. As yesterday version is suse11.3 patched to date. k3b writes standard dvd disks ok. I am seeing a lot of searches saying this is because of cdrkit rather than cdrtools, can I replace this easily? Is this the case? Tried setting the k3b options when burning to udf same error. Other searches show k3b has fixed probs with these issues, so appears to point to underlying mkisofs stuff full error log in yesterdays post if it helps. I will also try on ubuntu to see if it works there

Apr 2, 2011I'M trying to copy or rip a cd to a .iso file using Nero linux 4 and it just stops at 88%.I have also used brasero and the same thing happens when i right click in nautilus it only rips so far then stop's.Looking on Nero's websites the only dependencies that i don't have is Glibc 2.3.6.I have libglibc 2.24.1. and i can't find 2.3.6 to download.Does anyone know why i can't rip or copy the cd anyway i try to.Maybe it's a dependencies problem but i don't the what dependencies need to be installed.

Jun 21, 2010running lucid and whatever updates are current.Im attempting to burn a avi to dvd format with brasero, but when i hit "burn" brasero sais "ejecting disc" and says that an internal error has occurred. the saved log is blank.any thoughts? i have dvd author and the error message doesnt appear until the disc has ejected. but really it should not be ejecting if it is going to perform a burn.

Aug 21, 2010I often use dvdbackup to mirror dvd's to my harddrive. I used to use k3b to burn them to disks. The problem is I no longer use kde, and I realy hate installing kde apps these days, since they seem totaly bloated. Brassero isn't smart enough to take a directory with a dvd's file structure mirrored into it, and burn this as a video dvd. Is there a way to convert such a directory into an iso from the command line so brassero can handle it?
