OpenSUSE :: LXDE Control Center - Adjusting Mouse And Keyboard Parameters?

Sep 26, 2010

When I try to adjust the mouse and keyboard parameters, changes aren't applied. I adjust them to were I want to, click on accept, but then when I look on the settings again, they are set to default again. This must be some kind of bug. I already updated using the LXDE repository.

Debian Multimedia :: Keyboard And Mouse With No Response After LXDE Boot

Feb 11, 2015

I use the debootstrap to make a base Debian System of the ARM architecture for BananaPro [URL]... , and install the LXDE desktop. But the keyboard and mouse didn't response after the LXDE boot.

If I use the Debian system without the LXDE desktop, and it is normal. Meanwhile, I only installed the framebuffer driver, and can't find the right GPU driver to install.

Is caused by the lack of the GPU driver ? and what should i do ?

I get some error logs from /var/log/Xorg.0.log file,as follows:

Ubuntu :: Loss Of Desktop Control (mouse And Keyboard)?

Nov 2, 2010

In the past few days Ive noticed a lot of updates. Yesterday morning several times I went to click on items on my desktop and I couldnt. I thought it was just my batteries getting weak. Yesterday afternoon it got so bad I couldnt click on anything for hours at a time. I could only power offIve been reading lots of forums and threadsd there are lots of possible problems to this but they all come down to xorg file and usb issues.

An example of one possible problem: When I have the system log open I can not move the app around, make it bigger or smaller, I can only scroll on the right pane and have to use the mouse keys to navigate the left pane. And if I want to shut the app down, sometimes I can use the ctl+F to close it but sometimes I cant. After I shut the app, any app that is, the mouse pointer turns to |< and I cant click on anything for 5 min to 5 hours. It was suggested to run sudo dpkg reconfigure phigh xserver-xorg but when I did I didnt see anything visually or in the terminal occur.

OpenSUSE Install :: Is There Tool Can Use In Control Center?

Mar 19, 2011

I installed OpenSuse 11.4 Gnome on my Toshiba laptop. A couple of things i noticed while trying the live CD first is that the file manager recognized my NTFS partitions and after I installed I expected it to do the same. Also, while installing I thought I selected a secure logon with username & password. After installation it boots right into the desktop GUI. I haven't had a lot of time playing with OpenSuse yet and I have browsed through some threads and I couldn't find a way to configure a secure logon and do I have to mount the Windows partitions in the Command Line or is there a tool I can use in the control center?

OpenSUSE :: OS11.2/KDE 4.4: Akonadi Control Center Missing

Feb 18, 2010

I recently upgraded my SuSE 11.2 to KDE4.4 from "download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.2/". Most things run fine, however the "Akonadi Control Center" does not appear in my KDE "System Settings". Akonadi itself seems to run, at least Contact uses it for the addresses.

I searched for all "akonadi" packages, but I didn't find ones which I do not have installed.

About a week ago, I installed all the updates that popped up. I didn't actually look at what was being installed.

Since then, most of the items in the Yast2 Control centre won't run and just pop up an error box with the following (Firewall):

OpenSUSE Install :: Yast Control Center - Error Accessing?

Nov 18, 2010

I'm having trouble with Yast, I noticed today that I can't open the control centre from the desktop (along with install/remove software) when opening from the command line I get. the following output:

** (y2controlcenter-gnome:9050): WARNING **: error accessing /desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_command_line [Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have stale NFS locks due to a system crash. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.)]

Yast2 control centre opens, but none of the options load when selected. I have tried updating everything through Zypper which didn't work. (aka zypper ref/up etc). Then I tried removing yast and installing it again. When I did this (and downloaded the Yast control centre again the above errors, reappeared.

OpenSUSE :: Add More Control Functionality Through Mouse

Mar 14, 2010

I used easystroke on ubuntu, and it worked well enough to be functional. I triend opening Xstroke in suse, but it just adds an icon down by the notification panel. right click and left click seem to turn it on and off, but i've yet to find any configuration menu of any kind. I've also found the 'input actions' section of the personal settings menu, but i'm having a hard time making heads or tails of it. Basically, what I need is pretty simple. I have a single application that I would like to add more control functionality through the mouse. I don't even necessarily need gesture control, in fact if i could just make my extra mouse buttons perform specific keyboard commands (F11, ctrl++, etc.) that would be fantastic. If I could set it to do different things on different programs.

OpenSUSE :: Severe GUI Mouse Control - KDE 4.5.x, 11.3?

Oct 5, 2010

My mouse and trackpad button control is severely impaired in 11.3, KDE 4.5.1 (or .2) using Compiz. Gnome works fine. XFCE has some problems. The mouse control of window features is sometimes limited to one window with the rest of the desktop not responding to mouse actions. Popping up a second window from an app causes the mouse control to be completely lost. The issue leaves KDE effectively broken having only keyboard control. With some ESC key hits and using right mouse button to close one app (from the panel), I can move focus to another app but mouse control within the app is non-existent. Moving windows or raising or lowering doesn't work either. Sometimes, the GUI captures the mouse click but does not recognize the active App and applies it to objects sitting on the desktop screen underneath.

I've reverted partially back to the 11.3 installation DVD then reload updates and then moved to stable release of 4.5, then went back to the 4.5 factory. All failed to correct the problem. I removed .kde/.kde4 files and this did not help. What is wrong with my system? Also installed the latest kernel of the repos then reverted back to 2.6.34.7-0.3 [x64]. [very frustrating, been using Suse/KDE for >7 yrs, this one has me stumped]

OpenSUSE Multimedia :: Wrong Volume Control Via Keyboard?

Jun 10, 2010

I own an ASUS G71V laptop and I run openSUSE 11.2 with latest kernel and patches.

I just tried to use Fn+F10/F11/F12 combinations to regulate volume, just to see if they work.

I found that (from KDE 4.4.3) I can see the pop-up volume indicator going up and down as I press the right combination.

Ok... unfortunately, hardware keys regulate the wrong volume slider as I can see by opening Kmix. The front-microphone channel instead of master is regulated.

Actually, I just found that if I click on the volume icon on the taskbar I get the front mic slider, which seems to be bad.

How can I tell KDE that the default channel is the "master"?

OpenSUSE Install :: Sax And X11 Disabled Keyboard And Mouse

Dec 20, 2009

I am quite experienced in installing openSUSE. (I used it for many years.) But the problem showed below tricks me out.

I just tried to install openSUSE 11.2. In initmode 3 the keyboard works well. Everything worked well up to the moment I started runlevel 5. In XWindows Modus, the keyboard and the mouse are disabled. And I cannot get back to any other Virtual console.

When I started sax2, I get something (in the file /var/log/Sax.log) or both mouse and keyboard like this:

It indicates , mouse and keyboard are disabled.

Here are my questions:

How can I ENABLE my keyboard and my mouse?

Where is the file that configures sax2?

Do I have to set ("on") the AutoAddDevices? or to "off"

OpenSUSE Install :: Keyboard And Mouse No More Responding?

Feb 5, 2010

On our SuSe 11.1 PC keyboard and mouse are no more responding although it did work properly until yesterday. We shut down the computer yesterday evening and today they do not work anymore. But it is not a hardware problem, we can use keyboard and mouse until Grub bootloader, but as soon as we start a Linux session (doesn't matter if normal or failsave mode) the keyboard and mouse are disabled, we can see that because the NumLock and CapsLock LEDs are switched off immediately.

We have no idea what happened. We booted from CD into rescue mode and mounted the hard disk manually and checked some logfiles, but the boot.log tells us that USB keyboard and mouse are detected, as well as the Xorg.0.log file. And we found no indication that keyboard or mouse are disabled or something like that.
