OpenSUSE :: Cannot Link Using Mpicc

Feb 6, 2011

I recently upgraded from opensuse 11.0 to 11.3. I had LAM installed with 11.0, and all was well. I'm trying to install it again under 11.3.

I have installed lam-devel (and openmpi-devel), as well as gcc. When I try to compile and link using mpicc, everything compiles, but I then get the errors

Code:
gcc: libtool:: No such file or directory
gcc: link:: No such file or directory
mpicc: No such file or directory
Typing whereis for each of these gives

Software :: Cannot Find Mpicc Libraries

Jan 6, 2011

I am trying to compile some software written by a colleague in the lab that uses mpicc. When it is compiled on his account, it works fine, but fails on mine (on the same machine). When I type simply

>mpicc

I get the error

/usr/lib64/mpi/mpi-openmpi-intel/usr/bin/mpicc: error while loading shared libraries: libintlc.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am hesitant to mess around in .bashrc or .aliases before I have a little more information.

General :: Compiling Another Program With Mpicc Using A Non Default Compiler?

Jul 1, 2011

I am trying to compile a program with mpicc. To compile I use:

CC=/usr/bin/mpicc ./configure

However mpicc's default C compiler is gcc 4.4.2 and I need to use 4.0.0 which I have installed in another directory. I do not (nor can get) root privileges so I cannot edit mpicc's default compiler. Is there an option I can set while configuring?

Programming :: Link Directories - Symlink Not Updated / Hard Link Not Supported?

Sep 6, 2010

In the ordering of files I keep I need links to directories. Sometimes I even need to move directories to new locations. I have tried using symlinks, but they become dead when I move the directory they point to. I have tried hard links, but I haven't found any Linux file system that would support hard linked directories. How can I achieve that a complex structure of directories (currently with symlinks for directories and hard links for files) keep symlinks live when directories are moved?

- is there any utility that updates symlinks when a directory is moved?

- is there any Linux filesystem that supports hard linked directories?

- is there any good Linux interface to the new NTFS (the only file system I know to support automatically updating directory links, called directory junctions)?

Ubuntu Networking :: Mount To Vista Needed For Apache - Symbolic Link Not Allowed Or Link Target Not Accessible

Apr 26, 2010

I have a problem where I'm using Ubuntu linux to mount a Windows Vista machine's USB drive and access it on the web using Apache. I did have the USB drive plugged into the Linux machine directly and that was working via the web. FollowSymLinks is on in httpd.conf

[Code]....

The mount works and I can see the files (see above) from my regular linux user account. If I make a test file in /mnt and soft link to that, I can see it on the web. So it's just the mount to the vista machine that seems to be a problem. It's supposed to be a simple read-only mount and the apache login should (I think) be able to see the same generic root access permissions.

log from apache: [Mon Apr 26 20:39:42 2010] [error] [client 99.99.99.99] Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: /home/user1/pub_html/Music, referer: https://xx.xx.xx/~user1/music.html

The credentials have a login and password that matches a special read-only account on Vista. I can see the files on the system from Linux, but not via the web. As mentioned above, a different link to the same /mnt area works fine via the web. I've tried several different mount options with no success.

What I've tried is: (all to no avail, also note: I've been inputing this in Add To Drawer- Custom Application Launcher.) Also, note the directory location is valid as well, it's how I did it in my windoze installation.

Code:

OpenSUSE :: Download And Install It By Accessing Link?

Sep 2, 2011

I thought of suggesting this application to those of you who like writing notes and making your notes funky by grouping them, posting links, dragging images, and tagging the boxes in whichever way you want. IMHO it's easy to handle it and has a sweet interface, so I guess it's worth giving it a try . If you're on openSUSE 11.4, you can download and install it by accessing this link: software.opensuse.org: Search Results.

However, in the YaST | Hardware | Sound <0 HiFi-Link> | Edit, there is only one volume slider bar. I can not alter the left/right balance!

Is this a driver issue? Any thoughts on how to get two volume sliders?

OpenSUSE Install :: Upgrade 11.2 From 11.1 - Ramdisk Broken Link

I have updated using zypper from 11.1 to 11.2. Does this process update the boot/menu.lst file with an entry for the new kernel? Didn't for me.

Any rate, that's not really the problem. I have created a new entry in menu.lst to load the new kernel but I don't have a ramdisk image - all I have is a broken link initrd -> initrd-2.6.31.5-0.1-default

Where do I get the image from?

OpenSUSE Wireless :: WiFi Link 5100 Not Avaible?

Mar 24, 2010

For some reason I don't understand SUSE tells me there are no network devices available. I've checked for any 'firmware' and 'kill' in both boot.msg and hardware information. I've got an ACER Aspire 8935G with WiFi Link 5100 (Intel). The only info I found that could point to the reason is:

[Code]...

There is one more thing that could be related: I've got some touch-buttons to the left of the keyboard that turn wifi and bluetooth on/of. The bluetooth one works, but nothing happens if I press the wifi one.

I also know that this hardware worked on fedora 11 and 12, so it's probably only a matter of settings/additional packages. If you respond, please keep in mind I can't use any internet connection-based commands, as the system doesn't accept the hardware responsible for cable connections either. I can download files if needed.
