How do you install Chromium ver. 8? I have ver. 6.0.4.I would use Google chrome but it's unstable on this PC running opensuse 11.3 64bit KDE. Every time I try to send an attachment Google chrome crashes and Chromium doesn't.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLooks like the build of package ``chromium`` on 64-bit OpenSuSE 11.3 failed [url] .
At the moment, the latest available RPM for Chromium (from 01 Aug: [url] depends on an outdated version of libv8, which is not available on the openSUSE:11.3:Contrib/standard repository (because ``libv8`` itself was updated to a higher version on 09 Aug: [url].

View 9 Replies View RelatedI often use the option in Chromium to create 'application shortcuts'. These are instances of Chromium that make a website look more like an app by not including most of Chromium's toolbars. I use it for gmail and google docs and spreadsheets and calendar. In 11.04 I have set up Desktop launchers and copied them across to the Launcher (what an odd way to add something to the launcher, why no right-click 'add launcher' option?)
The problem is that the launcher thinks all these apps are chromium (which they are really, but I would like them to be seen as separate apps). If I minimize my gmail window, a little triangle appears next to the chromium icon, not the gmail icon. To get the window back, I have to click on the Chromium icon. Clicking on the gmail icon launches a new instance of it (also tied to the Chromium icon).
if i run chromium with --enable-gpu-rendering flag chromium's display looks like it's shattered into thousands of pieces and I can't understand a thing. This doesn't happens if I have a previous instance of chromium opened in the usual way, without any flag. In this case if I open another chromium window with the --enable-gpu-rendering flag it's display looks ok, but I can't figure out what's the problem and how could this be fixed if there's solution for it of course.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a shortcut with chromium browser to listen.grooveshark.com. This is great as it's almost like the grooveshark VIP desktop application like this. However AWN dock groups it with other chromium windows like this:Kuvakaappaus.jpg
Is it possible to force AWN to group this specific chromium window under the Grooveshark launcher that I have in the dock? Turning off grouping does not solve this either, as it just shows grooveshark as another chromium window.
i think something has broken javascript in my chromium installation. I've tried updating chromium and reinstalling/updating my java installation. Neither of these has helped. To give you an idea of the behavior I'm seeing this page does not have buttons, but pictures of all the buttons. Clicking them does nothing. Also, gmail's regular interface will not load. Functionality seems entirely normal (so far) in firefox.

I am wanting to install Chromium-browser in Squeeze. I notice that it is in the stable repos, but it seems to be fairly out of date. I was wondering how difficult it would be to install it from the unstable repos and what the consequences of that might be?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy latest update (this am) included a chromium update. Chromium now will not do much, gets hung up on most searches, can't access gmail and a few other misc strange things so I thought I would try to go back a version, since it is in .archives. I deleted the current version 5.0.393, and trying installing the older version, and it said it wouldn't cause a newer update is available. I tried reinstalling the newer version again, with no luck.

I've installed chromium browser package from Index of /repositories/openSUSE:/11.4:/Contrib/standard I notice that the taskbar icon has been missing (for quite some time) - I can confirm it on 3 different openSUSE 11.4 installations - on my laptop, my home HTPC/gaming rig and the worstation at work. The icon in the gnome main menu->internet->chromium looks fine but the icon I get in Compiz Ring Switcher seems to be the same white box icon with the blue bar. I'm sure it started happening since an update of Chromium in Feb/Mar timeframe. Does anyone else face similar problem and may be found a solution to get the icon fixed in the taskbar? I've attached a screenshot showing the problem.

I installed them, did some work in libreoffice (dint use chromium then) and turned the computer off. I've tried to search for how to install the dev builds of Chromium on Debian Squeeze, but the only information I find is on the google-chrome-unstable package. I tried to install the deb file with "dpkg -i google-chrome-unstable_i386.deb" but it told me there was an error and aborted. Is there any way to install the latest nightly builds of Chromium on Squeeze? On Ubuntu it was as easy as adding the lines:
