What this little N is that appears in the corner of the prefs icon in the latest Chromium 10? It goes away when I open the settings and it's driving me crazy as to what it is.
View 9 RepliesI installed Chromium from the 11.4 Contrib repository, but it doesn't show the icon in the GNOME panel. The icon shows up fine in the applications menu, but not on the open application itself.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've installed chromium browser package from Index of /repositories/openSUSE:/11.4:/Contrib/standard I notice that the taskbar icon has been missing (for quite some time) - I can confirm it on 3 different openSUSE 11.4 installations - on my laptop, my home HTPC/gaming rig and the worstation at work. The icon in the gnome main menu->internet->chromium looks fine but the icon I get in Compiz Ring Switcher seems to be the same white box icon with the blue bar. I'm sure it started happening since an update of Chromium in Feb/Mar timeframe. Does anyone else face similar problem and may be found a solution to get the icon fixed in the taskbar? I've attached a screenshot showing the problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a $400 Dell Vostro V130, and decided to put 10.10 netbook remix onto it. (Vostro V130 owners: after the reboot into the new system, there is no GUI. worse, after log in, a startx means the screen goes dead. fortunately, a power key event is still detected, so reboot still works cleanly. after I did a full apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade, and apt-get upgrade, the screen and remix worked.)
I would now like to increase the bass, systemwide (so that ..... gets sound that is a little better). the speaker icon on the top right gets me into sound preferences, but I do not see an equalizer.
Weeks ago, the Chromium icon in taskbar stopped to be shown. Instead, a boring icon is displayed. I have attached a screenshot.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn my system, System->Preferences->Software Updates, as best I can determine, completely ignores the "Check for updates: " setting. It looks as if, regardless of what I set, I get daily checks. Is anybody else experiencing this? Anybody got a fix? I like the idea of having the system check for me, so I don't want to just pitch the program.

My question is how do I remove the home directory and the trash icon from the desktop? Or better said what is the path to removing the symbolic link, I cannot find the symbolic links in the desktop directory. It is empty, I do not see any symbolic links under /home/test/Desktop?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI often use the option in Chromium to create 'application shortcuts'. These are instances of Chromium that make a website look more like an app by not including most of Chromium's toolbars. I use it for gmail and google docs and spreadsheets and calendar. In 11.04 I have set up Desktop launchers and copied them across to the Launcher (what an odd way to add something to the launcher, why no right-click 'add launcher' option?)
The problem is that the launcher thinks all these apps are chromium (which they are really, but I would like them to be seen as separate apps). If I minimize my gmail window, a little triangle appears next to the chromium icon, not the gmail icon. To get the window back, I have to click on the Chromium icon. Clicking on the gmail icon launches a new instance of it (also tied to the Chromium icon).
if i run chromium with --enable-gpu-rendering flag chromium's display looks like it's shattered into thousands of pieces and I can't understand a thing. This doesn't happens if I have a previous instance of chromium opened in the usual way, without any flag. In this case if I open another chromium window with the --enable-gpu-rendering flag it's display looks ok, but I can't figure out what's the problem and how could this be fixed if there's solution for it of course.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from SuSE 11.1 to 11.3.On my 11.1 system I had Firefox 3.6 installed and worked fine.Now on the 11.3 system I have of course Firefox 3.6.I only cannot access my edit- preferences. The whole -edit- menu is empty.I de-installed thru Yast2 the Firefox application, restarted the computer and installed thru Yast2 again the FF application. Unfortunately the -edit- menu is still empty.

Is it possible to force AWN to group this specific chromium window under the Grooveshark launcher that I have in the dock? Turning off grouping does not solve this either, as it just shows grooveshark as another chromium window.

Every time I open "sound preferences" from either the sound applet or the preferences menu pulseaudio CPU usage goes right up to 100% and proceeds to lock up the entire computer. pavucontrol, paman, and all the other pulseaudio utils work fine, except for ubuntu's sound preferences. It affects a new account.This is my 10.04 desktop that is affected. I have just the default pulseaudio config.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi think something has broken javascript in my chromium installation. I've tried updating chromium and reinstalling/updating my java installation. Neither of these has helped. To give you an idea of the behavior I'm seeing this page does not have buttons, but pictures of all the buttons. Clicking them does nothing. Also, gmail's regular interface will not load. Functionality seems entirely normal (so far) in firefox.

Chromium was running fine , till i enabled GPU Acceleration , Click2Play and tabbed preferences from "about:flags" ... Now every time i start chromium it instantly crashes..

I think i need to disable GPU acceleration to get it running... so i need to disable it from a config file in /home/.config/chromium .
openSuse 11.4 + Gnome 3 (upgraded from oneclick install). A couple of ago I ran zypper update and there were some updates available for chromium (and a few other things). I installed them, did some work in libreoffice (dint use chromium then) and turned the computer off. Today I needed to do some web surfing, so boot up my computer, launch chromium and get the following message (I translated it from spanish as I use the spanish version of opensuse)...
