I am trying to install a pretty obscure program in Linux : Lingualinks When installing this I get Run-time error: '429': ActiveX component can't be create object I have followed another thread and it suggested using winetricks The only activex components under wintricks are the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and firefox plugins and MS ActiveX Control Pad Neither of these seem to be relevant. I copied the dll into system32 directory
Is there any way to get ActiveX working under Linux? I need to get it to view content of some site. I was first thinking about Wine, but now I want to keep it as last option. Another way would be to get some plugin or something, but I don't know any.
I have a proxy with SSL that forward any request to a backend platform. In this moment I have a problem if I'm trying to execute an activex on the backend platform. I'm reading that the mod_proxy blocks any activex request because it don't trust for the system. How I can do? I'm reading about mod_security.
For a change I installed Konqueror 4.6.2 today. When I login to Gmail it asks to enable ActiveX. Google detects Konqueror as IE. I haven't touched browsing profiles.
I am attempting to install the latest Mozilla ActiveX control in order to install need for speed carbon. When I try to install the ActiveX control, it runs successfully for a bit, then says: Code: The Mozilla control was unable to detect where your Mozilla layout libraries may be found. You will now be shown a directory picker for you to locate them. It pops up a directory listing, but no matter what I pick, it returns:
[Code]....
I googled for "Mozilla layout libraries" and saw that apparently the win32 ActiveX build has a problem, but the thread appears to be from 2005, so, although it is the same error, I doubt if it is the same problem. Not just that, I don't have a windows compiler anywhere, so I couldn't recompile anything with that fix anyway.
I've been using the PPA version of banshee, and I got this error - just wondering if anyone else has it too! I'm able to play a song, but when the song finishes and the next one starts I get this error: Banshee Encountered a Fatal Error Object reference not sent to an instance of an object Error details:

Ubuntu shows the following error message when I try to launch Firefox "Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features." No other program including Google Chrome has this problem.
Kmix will not start any more. It might have something to do with an online update I installed last night. Here is the output from a console. I can't make any sense of it.
ion@linux-4cfs:~> kmix Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString) <unknown program name>(6735)/: Communication problem with "kmix" , it probably crashed. My problem is when trying to connect to: "hxxp://www.m-y-d-o-m-a-i-n.com/phpMyAdmin" I reported Error 404: PHP Code: Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. I had to reload my openSuSE 11.1 and reloaded KDE 4.3.4 from KDE Repositories and did an unconditional update on KDE Core and Community to ensure I got all the current versions back.
I am now having an issue with at least two plasmoids that is regularly used. When I attempt to add them to the desktop, I get the message "component not found". This happens to at least these two, yasp and yawp for system status and weather. It may happen to others, I haven't tried.
They are both loaded and both are present in /usr/share/kde4/services. I removed them using YaST, then rebooted, then re-added them, then rebooted and still get the same result, component not found.
I am using slackware 13 and openldap 2.4 with webmin. whenever I start my server i get following error "root DN missing". when I try to create root DN I get error "unable to create object class". where do we define object classes?
After upgrading to KDE4.7 I would get the error message, "A KDE text-editor component could not be found. Please check your KDE installation.", when I clicked on text files. The all knowing Google provided no answer so I am leaving my solution here in case others are as unfortunate.
For some reason kdelibs3-32bit is pulled in when I upgraded to kde 4.7, removing it fixed the problem.
Installed Skype but it wont launch. Running the latest Opensuse Gnome. Ive uninstalled it and reinstalled several times but always with the same error. When I try to run it from terminal I get this:
ig@linux-ljqk:~> skype skype: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Ive just now uninstalled skype and tried reinstalling it again via yast, but now I get the following error [PK_TMP_DIR|dir:///var/tmp/TmpDir.xftzR0] Repository already exists.
I need to create an object using DIA (0.96.1) with the following characteristics: simple text (basically a number) exactly centered in a circle The reason why I need a way to exactly center the text is that I need to export the diagram within a vectorial graphic format and change its font. If the text is "manually" centered the result is not satisfactory. There are few defined objects in DIA that automatically center the text within a frame but none with a circle.
I want to create a Java Servlet that will interface with a shared object (.so) library. The library is a component provided by a SDK manufacturer. This Java Servlet will be hosted on Apache Tomcat running in the Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud.
I upgrade the system from 11.1 to 11.2 seems everything work fine, no error no warning, after a reboot the consol show : mount error while loading shared libraries: libvolume_id.so.1: Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. when I try to repair the system the repair tool cannot find the root partion,

Only ones I can think of seem overly complex, and I'm sure there is a simple solution I am overlooking. I have a class, it has a member who is an object. This object needs to be able to represent an object of different types.
[code]...
Where "surface" could be several different types, which will be set during execution. Hope this is clear enough. I have tried using templates but am getting "data member cannot be a member template". Either I have incorrect syntax, or am not implementing it right. another solution would have one class containing definitions of all possible shapes, But this would take up extra memory. Other solutions I thought of seem too round-about, and seems there is a simpler solution that I have overlooked.
I cannot run Opera. I am running a fresh install of Fedora 13 (everything updated). When I try to run Opera, it fails with this error message:

I installed Nautilus-actions, in order to set up some right-click scripts. However, when I click on "nautilus actions configurations" from within the system preferences menu, I receive the following error... "Duplicate object id 'label1' on line 1000 (previously on line 940)".
I have installed it and setup an apache conf. Nagios http page loads but shows errors on every sub-page.
Code: Whoops! Error: Could not read object configuration data! Here are some things you should check in order to resolve this error:
1. Verify configuration options using the -v command-line option to check for errors. 2. Check the Nagios log file for messages relating to startup or status data errors.
Make sure you read the documentation on installing, configuring and running Nagios thoroughly before continuing. If all else fails, try sending a message to one of the mailing lists. More information can be found at [URL]..Looking for some assistance, or better still PM me if you'd be willing to remote on and have a look for me.

i'm installing a Linux system just simply following guide by fellow friends comunity. Currently, my box are having 2 HDD with 35GB each capacity. Displaying in GNome (36.2 GB Encrypted Data). During installation, I'd selected :
*Remove Linux partitions on selected drives and create default layout *The "Encrypt system" option
In Gnome desktop, when I right click and select mount volume, it will display : "Unable to mount location. Internal error: No mount object for mounted volume"
In both CentOS 5.5 and FreeBSD 7.4 when I use Code: snmpget -v 1 -c public windows_host system.sysDescr.0 I get the remote windows machine system description just fine. But not in ubuntu. Searching snmp-net FAQ for the erroe message "Unknown Object Identifier", I got this to work around Code: snmpget -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 SNMPv2-MIB::system.sysDescr.0 But it not worked either.. Searching "MIB" using apt-file search, I installed "snmp-mibs-downloader", and now Code: snmpget -v 1 -c public 127.0.0.1 SNMPv2-MIB::system.sysDescr.0 works.. but Code: snmpget -v 1 -c public windows_host system.sysDescr.0 still breaks.. Why it works in CentOS and FreeBSD but not in Ubuntu?
