The problem Im facing is that I cant seem to intercept the data going between the client and the server. I want to be able to have the data coming to the server in a variable, manipulate it and send it to the client, and the other way, have the data coming to the client in a variable, manipulate it and send it to the server.
Im running on an embedded device where tee, awk and many other commands are absent. how can I redirect the data to a variable, manipulate it and pass it to the other side, that is the question.
I'm starting to like making bash scripts. It's kewl making creative ones. Right now I'm trying to make a bash script that will open up port 23 for a netcat connection. Once there's a connection, I'd like for the script to open up xmms and play a sound effect, as well as echo a txt file to the desktop saying that a connection was made at this specific time. When I execute the script, it stops exection at the first line. So far I have this:
fedora (iptables) eth0 -private :192.168.1.1 eth1 -public : 186.117.50.6 squid proxy 192.168.1.10:3128 my clients range 192.168.2.0/24
how can i make my clients to browse internet only from proxy server my network is NAT 'ed. Please specify a iptable rule to allow internet access for my clients to browse ONLY if they come through proxy server.
I'm wondering if I can use netcat to listen to a UDP port and display ALL incoming packets, no matter where they're from. If I just do 'nc -u -l 1234' then netcat will listen for incoming packets and connect() to the source address of the first one it sees (I can see this with strace). Is there any (standard) way to stop the connect() call? I can make a hack to block connect() with a function of my own, but that'd be ugly
I connected two machines, I have their given of the addresses ip in a static way and not with DHCP. I gave to the machine server the address: 192.168.0.1, and in the machine client the address 192.168.0.2.
I've tried to use netcat in the past and assumed it was my stupidity that was preventing it from working... but this is getting ridiculous. I'll execute nc -l 3333 on a server at 192.168.0.105 (after opening it on the firewall of course) then I run nc 192.168.0.105 3333 on my laptop (from 192.168.0.101). and nothing happens... i start typing and nothing comes up on the terminal.
I run nc -z 192.168.0.105 80 which should ideally do a port scan of port 80 on that server (of which I'm running a web server that clearly works) but it doesnt even give me any feedback. Nothing happens. Now when I use the verbose flag i see that I am indeed connecting to the specified port on the server successfully (so the port scan one is a success but only with the verbose flag... which shouldnt be the case I believe). But still once I have the server listening and the laptop connected... I type in both windows and nothing happens...
Here is my problems :I have two networks :1. LAN (10.1.x.x subnet 255.255.0.0), and2. my internet public (IP 202.xx.xxx.xxxx subnet 255.255.255.240)I have an application in my LAN PC (10.1.2.240) which broadcast udp packet to its client. The client in my LAN can receive the udp packet, no problem.My question is how netcat/socat can RELAY the udp broadcast packet to one of my IP public address so the message can be received by other client from internet ?
i have 3 servers in 2 dcs as follows; server 1 (dc1 - dmz) --- server 2 (dc1 - internal) --- server 3 (dc2 - internal) Now I have an application in server1 that have to connect to port 44000 in server 3 but dc refuse to open connection saying they do not open connections between dmz and dc2 (i have no say over this).
However I can connect to virtually any port from server1 <-> server2 and also server2 <-> server3. Is it possible to do something like;
server1 <-> server2 <-> server3:44000 using nc to get the app work.
we need to log web access of a certain set of users for analysis. We decided to setup a proxy server which just logs all the requests but does not do anything else like caching/access control etc.All users will be using a fixed set of computers and hence we can redirect their requests to the proxy. I came across Squid, but found it to be too heavy for our requirements. Is there any other proxy-server software that is good enough for what we want or is Squid the only way?
Currently my DHCP Server is working now what i want to have is auto detection of squid proxy in any browser but I still got an error in my dhcp server when I restart it.
My Config:
# DHCP configuration generated by Firestarter ddns-update-style interim; ignore client-updates;
make a start up script so that it executes this command: cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state I managed to execute it writing command to .bashrc, but every time I open terminal it starts like this:
[Code].....
I need this command on start up, so that my battery meter starts working properly. For some reason, if the command is not activated, gnome battery meter is showing that battery is charging even if I am not on AC power. If there is any other way to fix this without making script I would be glad to hear.
I try to play a simple movie in avi format. The codec is called AC-3. I tried several tutorials, now i stuck with a "local file conflict between packages" when i run the auto install with movie player. I try now VLC Player ... With VLC it works! Open from the Administrator panel - Add or Remove Software than search for VLC and tick the main stuff and install.
I'm trying to make an extremely simple script named 'findm' in my /usr/local/bin that looks like this:
Code: #!/bin/bash find -mindepth 1 -iname '*$1*'
As you can see, I want to be able to run 'findm some_argument' while in a shell in any directory. The problem I'm having is that this script only works when I'm in my top most home directory. Any directory lower than that and the script returns no results.
First off, I'm completely new to bash scripting so forgive me if I make any egregious errors. I'm trying to make pop-up reminders for the simple calendar program when. This is what I have so far:
Code: #!/bin/bash # set the time format for when #current="$(date +%I:%M %p)" current="$(date +%-l%p)" today=~/.when/today
[Code]....
When I run the script, gxmessage pops up and displays the correct information, but it does so for each line in "~/.when/today" that contains a time that matches the current system time (which would be three pop-ups at 10PM, according to the example). I want it to display the information only once. How can this be accomplished? Is a while loop even the right job for this?
At the moment I have a proxy and all the users have to configure it in the browser to access internet. I want to make the users able to browse even without configuring the proxy in the browser. but eventually it should be received in the proxy rather than giving an error to the user. I heard with transparent proxy I can redirect all the traffic from a particular network, to a particular host( ie my existing proxy).
I tried this using firewall rules. But then the existing proxy doesn't understand the protocol of the requests. I heard that it should be in the kind of proxy protocol.
I would like to unzip a simple PHP code files, to have a online PHP contact / phone book. Simply, slow, and not database oriented over complicated setups into settings. I have a PHP / web provider (free), not apache. WITHOUT SQL (like before it may exists) something like this [URL]
the zypper calling aria2c download the file, but the speed is too slow, so, I want to use proxy.the aria2 is supported to use proxy ,but I cannot find where is the config file. I want to know how the zypper pass the parameter such as file name file target and anthor option when aria2 is calling by zypper
I've setup squid proxy st time on centos 5.This is my current setup.squid.conf:Quote:acl our_networks src 192.168.10.0/24 ttp_access allow our_networksQuote:
internet -- modem -- Firewall --switch--squid proxy (192.168.10.100) --client workstation ((192.168.10.200) (client workstation is connected to the same switch as the squid proxy)
How to make squid proxy transparent?I have configured a Squid proxy server with some ACLs but we have to check from client side whether those ACLs work or not ,I have to open their firefox and manually enter my machine's i.e. proxy server's ip, only after entering this ip , Those ACLs work properly.But now I want to make it work without manually entering the proxy on clients machine.I guess transparent proxy is the solution, but how to configure it/Please guide me and I am one of the machine in LAN.
i'm a college student studying pc programing, and i was given today a special work and i have to program using miranda... which i've never used it >.< can anyone give me a hand to where to download, how to compile, and a simple tutorial for making a simple program or something?
trying to make a startup script that executes a simple php script at boot. The stipulation is that it must be run after fstab is processed because it requires access to a volume that fstab mounts. As it is, it doesn't seem to be running properly at startup, and I suspect that it is simply running before the volume is mounted. The script does not need root access. If I run it once I login, it works fine.
Also, is there a way to determine the output of a startup script?I am have configured a bash script called module.sh that cd's to the scripts directory (in the external volume) and then executes the script. I didn't forget the ampersand after the php invocation. I used update-rc.d module.sh defaults to configure it.
I am trying to make an application server that would contain simple ones like edit, openoffice, gimp, so on and so forth. I know how to access these using ssh but what I want is that the application runs on that server as it already does, but to open local files and save them locally.
