With hardy, I was able to have multiple SSL sites on the one machine. But I can't seem to get it to work for ubuntu 9.10, I've read that you need to put each SSL site on a different IP. But I was able to do it with hardy without different IP's.

I have some problem in apache2 configuration. I have two websites on same IP on LAN.i.e. 192.168.1.5

What should I check in a few blogs I checked they said to mention in [URL]...But in this case what should I put I have two different websites or what other thing I have missed? I do not have access to DNS so that on LAN I can point site1.abc.com and abc.com to same IP 192.168.1.5 which to me seems could resolve the issue.
So I am trying to add some sites to my server, right now I have an active site at www2.site.tld. As a test, I copied [URL]to [URL], and changed only the line
ServerName www2.site.tld
to
ServerName what.site.tld
as well as renaming the lines for the log files appropriately then
# a2ensite what.site.tld
# /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
which by everything I have read should result in what.site.tld being identical to www.site.tld. Instead, it flat-out does not resolve. Apache does create some blank log files in /var/www/
I am trying a release of Ubuntu has have run into a problem that does not make much sense. I am receiving the following error: Syntax error on line 20 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/portal: Invalid command 'ProxyHTMLEnable', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
fail! I believe the modules required for this is apt-get install libapache2-mod-proxy-html and it shows under the available modules and it was enabled with a2enmod proxy-html.
The line from the config is ProxyHTMLEnable On. The release is the latest download with updates from, 32bit.

how is it possible to serve multiple sites hosted in my computer with apache through dyndns.I am using ubuntu 10.04 and i had setup a dyndns domain as of mydomain.homelinux.org/127.0.1.1 medic. Now when i go to mydomain. homelinux.org outside of my lan i see the default site of apache.

Recently I've been earning money doing web development, php, html/css, MySQL and so on. What I have encountered a lot are clients that need a complete solution. They need their site built, but they also need a hosting solution. I've sent more than just a few clients off to GoDaddy, and quite frankly, I'd like to cash in on some of that.
It would do wonders for my business if I could offer them a hosting solution with full support on top of building their site. My problem is I have no idea how to do this. So I'd like to know how I can host multiple sites on the same server. Does anyone know of a nice guide I can follow to set this up? It's really important that I can add sites fairly easily over the internet. Since I will be away at school, I won't have direct access to the server
I have set up a SSL site for my default Apache server. But I want to set up multiple SSL sites for multiple IP based as well as Name based Virtual hosts. Is there a way where in I can include definitions for SSL certificates and keys within the Virtual Host directive in the httpd.conf, so that I can specify separate key and cert file for every Virtual Host.

The first I created a file is virtual.conf in conf.d directory its content is :

I dual boot XP and FC14 and have 2 routers. I can connect and ping one of these routers when I'm in FC and I have an IP address I just can't load any websites. When I connect to the other router (my main router) it works fine. When I boot into XP and connect to the problem router I can load pages fine. It's only when I'm on FC14 and connect to the problem router that I can't load pages even though I have an IP and can ping around.

Any suggestions why these are running, or how to stop it? Well, I can stop it with a sudo killall, but how can I make sure it doesnt happen again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn the past week or so I've noticed some weird network behaviour. I find accessing some sites such as Amazon, Paypal, and Bigstockphoto really slow. Sometimes the page will not load at all. Other sites are fine. The problem sites are not a problem for others on my LAN at home. When I try to open the problem sites, I can see in Firestarter blocked connections coming from 2.1(8/9).xxx.xxx on various ports such as 36007. This only happens for the problem sites. I attached a typical output from firestarter.

I have two sites (actually more) configured in apache2. All sites have their own vhost file, which I enable or disable with a2enmod or a2dismod.
This works fine.
I have configured some SSL sites inside the vhost files, where I have created two different certificates. One for each site.
BUT, if I enable example2.com, it will always load the certificate from webmail.example1.com when i go to the ssl site webmail.example2.com, nomather what (because it comes first in the alphabet maybe) ?.
If I then uncomment the SSL site for example1.com if will work fine with webmail.example2.com, but of course then the site for webmail.example1.com is not working since it is uncommented.
So for some reason, it "falls back" to this site webmail.example1.com everytime, which I have absolutely no idea why it does this. All the other vhost running on port 80 configurations, works fine, but just not the SSL (port 443 ones).

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 32bit on a dual boot (XP) computer. No internet problems in windows, and I am currently typing this post on my wifes HP laptop running 9.10. I have no browsing ability on the desktop running 9.04, and updates don't work (in details, every other line fails) But, I can bring up Google, and search it, pictures and all, but cannot go to different sites (ebay, hotmail, amazon as the first few i try). Also, my pidgin works fine, as I am talking on it now. I have tried to turn off ipv6 in Firefox and ubuntu, neither doing anything noticeable.

For a while now I've got a problem when surfing the internet. Everythings fine for let's say 15 minutes and then all of a sudden it takes about 1 minute to load a -random- page, once it has loaded, everthing's fine again. Transmission does not seem to have this problem. I'll double check this. Looking thru the forum I found the following "solutions". None of which has worked for me up to now:
- disable ipv6 in firefox
- set method under network manager to "Automatic (DHCP) addresses only" and use google or OpenDNS dns servers
- change resolv.conf (comparable to the second one I guess)
I am using Ubuntu 10.04, when connected to the ethernet through , Atheros Communications AR8152 v1.1.I can successfully access the internet. But when I try to use the wireless I can connect to the network using Atheros Communications AR9285, but can't access any internet sites. View 1 Replies View RelatedStrangest thing...yesterday my 11.04 box lost the ability to access anything external. I can ssh to the box from outside my network, and all other boxes on my network are fine, but this one box can't hit anything external. If I attempt to ping a site it's doing the same resolution, but no packets are delivered.
Up until yesterday it was running fine, and I didn't make any changes to my home network or install any updates. Totally stumped.
Edit: this is a wired connection with a static internal IP.
I have an odd Linux problem. Changed ISP recently -- Windows NT4 & W95 work fine. Linux has worked fine on previous ISPs, but on the newest ISP, I can connect successfully on Linux, but can only communicate w/maybe one out of 10 sites (Google, for ex.). Mostly I get "cannot connect to site". Some points:
-Linux is Slackware w/kernel build 2.4.26.
-No settings changed from Linux setup that worked fine on previous ISPs.
-/var/log/Log file says PPP connects via CHAP successfully & no problems..
-I don't see any similarity on the few sites I can connect to -- seems random.
-ISP is useless -- say they "don't support Linux".
-Using Firefox & Konqueror browsers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've installed 10.10 yesterday on my old HP Pavillion ze2000 as dual boot with windowsXP and the wireless was working normally, I've updated everything it asked to update, rebooted a few times due to some of the updates. Today when I turned it on it was connecting normally to the router, though when I opened mozilla or tried to ping the router IP on the network tools neither have worked. Couldn't open any site on mozilla or ping any ip although it says I'm connected to my wireless router as it would normally. When I open into the XP my firefox there works just fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had recently installed Ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit) and I have trouble loading websites. I use a DSL (PPPoE) connection from NetworkManager to connect to the internet. Some sites like this forum site, stack overflow, etc. do not load. Firefox 4 says 'loading...' and then finally times out. I can ping these sites though.
I tried 'wget stackoverflow.com' and Lynx both timed out. wget sends out a request and waits a long time for response before timing out. These sites load perfectly well on my Fedora 14 (64-bit) & Windows XP installations and both these OSes have Firefox 4. From this I assumed that this is not a problem with Firefox (or any other browser for that matter) but it has got something to do with the network configuration.
I faced the same problem with Ubuntu 10.04 too. I use a Dell Inspiron N5010.

I just setup a linux machine that act as a gateway along with squid running in transparent mode. Now I have one asterisk server which is behind that gateway I mean on my local subnet which pass through my linux gateway. Voip server having 4mb up n 4 mb down limit. Clients having 512kbps and upload 2mb.

Now my question is regarding skype calling. Since skype uses port 80, does it mean that it passes its request via proxy or direct and for safe side I've changed skype incoming port to 443 which squid does not see it. How much and width does skype use for calling in that case. Some one told me that it using squid to pass its request which I don't agree.
