View 1 RepliesI am trying to build GFS2 cluster with 2 or 3 Fedora 14 nodes, but I've encountered some problems from the start. First luci does not work at all in Fedora 14. There is no luci_admin and even if I manage to start luci service, I get a blank white screen when I try to open it from the browser. I've googled a bit and found that I'd might be able to setup GFS if I manage to build cluster.conf manually and start the cluster suite, but I cannot find documentation on how to create cluster.conf anywhere. If anyone knows how to setup GFS2 without a cluster suite or how to configure cluster.conf.

After testing it in the lab, I tried to install a new cluster and received the following error: cman not started: Cannot start, cluster name is too long or other CCS error /usr/sbin/cman_tool: aisexec daemon didn't start I've checked the internet for that error, but nothing. I decided to to take the example from cluster.conf man, which looks like that :

And still I get the same error. I can find my servers both from DNS (FQDN and short name) and they also appear in /etc/hosts.
I am trying to configure redhat cluster first time but no idea how to do it. I am using rhel 5.2. I have copied cluster rpms from redhat media and tried to install them but facing alot of dependencies problem. Can some one please guide how can i do redhat clustering from start. I am doing this for configuring single node clustering for zimbra suite but it is the requirement to configure redhat cluster first. One more thing i am using two virtual machines installed by using virtual box.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi am using the redhat cluster suite (luci and ricci) on my centos 5.3. i have 2 nodes in a cluster. when i poweroff the first node on wich a vm service is running, the service switchtes to node2. so far, so good :) but when i restart node1 the service is not failback to node1! i have created a failover domain with both nodes and priorized whre node1 has prio1 and node2 has prio2.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup Rocks Cluster on a Cluster containing 1 Master node and 23 slave nodes connected via a Switch. The master node's eth1 is connected to public IP and eth0 is connected to the slave nodes via the switch.
I was able to install the Rocks cluster on the machine, I configured the IP for master through DHCP. When I run the command 'insert-ethers' on the master node, it doesnot get me any slave nodes.

Eth0 is connected to local cluster lan switch and eth1 is connected to internet, eth1 should have a valid IP address. Cluster is okey and work good, but when I assign ip address to eth1, both of theme don't work. cluster goes down and I cant use internet. Ping my cluster node and 4.2.2.4 say the eth not work.

I have install the rock cluster on the main server . and I want to connect the client with the PXE boot . when I starting the client then it boot from the PXE boot into the mode of compute node. but it ask the where is to be stored the I have give the path..then server says that not able to find the directory path.
Steps:-
1) insert-ethers
2) client is started with the PXE boot.
3) it detects the dhcp .
4) At last it demand where is to be started by cd-rom, harddisk ,nfs etc.
then I started with the nfs and I have given the lanIp of server.and server is detecting the client but client is not finding the filesystem directory. into export partition directory but it is not taking path.
PATH:-
/export/rock/install it is not finding this path then it is not able to start the o/s from PXE boot..Is there any solution and manual of rock or anyother solution then u can reply to me...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get experience in creation of virtual Fedora 9 x64 cluster using Ubuntu 9.04/Virtual Box 2.2.2. I have a head node with 1 G of RAM and two slave nodes with 512 M each. There's internal networking in Virtual Box with DHCP, so my nodes have addresses:
192.168.15.100/24 (Slave0.localdomain), 192.168.15.101/24 (Slave1.localdomain), 192.168.15.102/24 (Head.localdomain). Ping is OK. I've added the following string to /etc/exports file: /usr/share 192.168.15.0/24(rw) And then used /usr/sbin/exportfs -a But showmount -e 192.168.15.102 entered at slave node shows nothing. What's wrong? May be I have to somehow start nfsserver, but how?
Have many computers at works. Not always on as students works on it from time to time. I already have a nfs server for files, but there's plenty of disk space on workstations. I wanna make use of it as a "performance booster".Which distributed file system should i use ? Looked for Plan 9 fs, but seems a bit new and "complicated" for me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Debian 4 bigmem and I set up static ip for my box. This is for a class and we will be moving the hard drives around the lab to different computers. My question is what do I configure to get Debian to be ok with my using different nics at different times. My first time I used it, I had eth0, but now I'm on a different computer (same type of hardware on all systems) but my nic is now eth1... And I had to set up static again for that nic. How can I have it just maintain a static ip for whatever nic/mac address on the computer that my hard drive happens to be put on?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI came across this while trying to find a solution for my load-balancing clustering issue in another thread. Since I perceive this as something on its own, I decided to post a new thread. I came across this site to setup a two-server cluster using Conga - Luci and Ricci.
From my understanding, this is what was done:-
1. Both servers have luci running using a shared storage via GFS to provide a failover
2. Both (and same) servers have ricci agent running for the clustering
I'm aware that Conga clustering aim to achieve High-Availability.
1. Can it also achieve Load-Balancing?
2. If yes, would the guide from the link above be sufficient or would they be additional setup/pre-req to be done? Since I'm new to this area and there was no mention of load-balancing, I'm still wondering if this is what I need to incorporate.
I am familiar with windows 2008 cluster servers, and I just started testing with centos cluster. I am creating a simple 2-node cluster, for a simple ping test.
Node 1: 10.0.0.1
Node 2: 10.0.0.1
Virtual ip: 10.0.0.10
So far, I can ping a virtual ip, and manually relocate it between the nodes, but I didn't figure out, how to do this automatically. So this is my question: How can I setup the cluster, to it automatically failover the a service to another node case one node fails?
I am working on a cluster for a molecular dynamics class and I have to edit my FORTRAN code (only the newest and best for me!). In order to get through to the cluster I have to ssh in. The network on which the cluster resides is behind a firewall, so I have to ssh through the firewall into the network first.
this is fine, I can login and move files and folders as needed, including sftp-ing into host 1, then into the cluster so I can transfer files from cluster to host and then host to me. This gets rather tiresome, so it would be nice to edit the files in place.
The problem is that when I access my code with emacs it launches the emacs client on Host 1, with no mouse support. I know the purists will howl about how I should be using keyboard shortcuts, but I am a chemist and not a programmer, so the mouse is very nice for me. Is there any way I can perhaps mount the cluster using sshfs so that when I open my code it launches a local instance of emacs? Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I thought it was network related.
