I just have a question. I am having problems with my acer extensa 5620z wireless. I went on a few fourms and tried a few things they told me to do and It did not work. My question is this If i install wine can I grab the exe file off of acer website and install it that way?
My hosting server is running Linux / Apache. It would be very nice to be able to link some files (preferably hard links, but symbolic links also would help), but haven't a clue how to do so. I would be willing to write a server side php script if that would do the trick.
When I chose options 1 thru 3, that executes with no problem (Menu=Download does not work). The program sees into field four, but field four is not able to see outside itself. For instance:
Code:
Download:chan: Download:pitm:1:echo $numpi. Return to Main Menu Download:pitm:2:
[code]....
is used to generate a numbered list of channels. It could be four or 40. Whatever the number is, I want the next line to read, for example, 32. Return to Main Menu.
Code:
num
is the variable in the script I use to number the list of channels. The number following Download: pitm: is numpi, which should be added to num. How do I take
I have a huge log file of around 3.5 GB and would like to sample random sections in the middle of say 10 MB for the purpose of debugging what my application is doing.
I could use head or tail commands to get the beginning or end of the file, how can I grab an arbitrary portion from the middle of the file? I guess I could do something like head -n 1.75GB | tail -n 10MB but that seems clumsy and I'd need to determine line numbers for the midpoint of the file to get 1.75GB and 10MB line counts.
Could not access wireless Netgear WNR2000, www after installing Ubuntu onto Acer Aspire 3690 - worked fine w/windows, before. Figured I needed drivers so went to Acer and put them on thumb drive. I've now, got them on the desk-top of the Acer but don't think that's where they shoud be.
When i go top and click on the link to download/install de debian-multimedia-keyring, a pop-up windows appears with the choice to open the file with file-roller. But i want to open it with aptitude to get it installed.i missing something? How can i setup Iceweasel to make sure the next time .deb files can be installed directly from the source website
I have a site that I login to to check updates. It does not have RSS because users need to authenticate themselves before getting access to the page. Is there a way to write a script that can login to the page and check whether the HTML has changed and then send me an email?
I have just finished installing 9.04 via USB onto an Acer Travelmate C110.For the record, 9.10 refused to even boot on this laptop. I used universal-usb-installer and unetbootin, both without success. The installation completed successfully, except that wireless networking is not enabled. Can someone please point me to the correct resource whereby I can get the wireless nic working.
I'm having great difficulty with networking on a new Acer 5516 laptop (smolt):Firstly, the NIC card isn't recognized out-of-the-box so I followed Ubuntu forum thread. No luck* I installed the appropriate Broadcom drivers. No luck* * However, when I plugged in a USB Ralink DWL-G122 wireless adapter, this worked and, incredibly, the internal Broadcom BCM4312 started to work (see below). Even more bizarre, after turning the laptop off and unplugging the power, upon reboot with the Ralink adapter plugged in, the NIC was on and I did a yum update through eth0.
Sadly, none of the laptops internal networking works unless the Ralink adapter is plugged in. In fact, the gnome desktop is almost unworkable and unresponsive without the Ralink adapter up. Further, I sure that this was the reason the initial F11 install was frustrating with periodic unresponsiveness.
I've tried installing both F11 386 and x64 and have booted with a F10 live USB with no luck either.
I'm contemplating trying Ubuntu next but really would like to know if someone has been successful with Fedora.
I need to download a file from a website which has a URL formatted like:
[URL]
This redirects to a .zip file which has to be saved. There is also a need to authenticate based on username and password.
I tried to use wget, curl and lynx with no luck.
UPDATE:
wget doesnt work with redirection. It simply downloads the webpage instead of the zip file. curl gives the error "Maximum redirection exceeded > 50 " lynx also gives the same error.
Im trying to figure out how to display parts of a .db file created by the scorch2000 server to display a player name, games played, score and maybe more...
I dont want to display everything, of course ^^, but how do i get the player name, the number of games he played and his score to display it in a webpage in this fasion:
Name Games Played Score
joe blow1 25 9876890 joe blow2 31 8989767 joe blow2 26 7989767 joe blow2 17 5989767 joe blow2 13 4989767
and by highest score because the log doesin't put them in in score order....
please help, i asked the maker because he has one runing already but no answer back, well the game is pretty old so i didn't really expect an answer anyways and tryed to figure it out but i dont know functions in php, this is to include in a php-nuke block (this i know how to do
here is an example of a working page at the developper website:url
I am trying something a bit tricky.Suppose there is a website URL...Now suppose when i open a file /var/www/ test.php which connects to the above website to gather some info and then allow me to further in the process, i want it to instead direct to a file say /var/www/test_done.php.How do i edit my hosts file for such a scenario? Is there any other better option than using a hosts file ?
I have met following problem: there is a website I cannot access. When I am trying to connect to this site I get an error message. I tried all browsers installed on my system. Seamonkey, Firefox, Konqueror. All failed. I don't understand this completely as I have no problem with connecting to internet. Now I am thinking that I myself somehow unintentionally blocked an access to this particular site. Is it possible? Under W$ I have no problems at all.
How would I set up a website that would be only accessible locally. There's a router machine (server) that keeps provides internet access for a number of client machines. I need to set up a learning platform (moodle) locally. The server machine runs moodle server (apache server) and students should have access to their accounts locally (no need to be accessible outside of LAN). First of all, what would be the best network configuration for it.Sorry for a dumb question, but could I just come up with any domain name if everything stays locally within LAN?
I have a web server in my kitchen with apache running on it. Since the upload speed is quite low due to my isp I would like to execute a bash script that uploads a file to another server through a website (which is htaccess protected) The idea in general: Someone with access to my website browses through a folder, copies a file path to an input form and presses "upload". Rather than executing a bash script directly I could have a cron job running in background that finds the path and then uploads the file to the other server I have userspace on and is accessible via sftp/ssh. The file would be than erased later after a couple of days or so. That person would be able to access the file with higher speed some time later without logging in via ssh and doing all that manually.
i bought an Acer aspire one through an official acer website and i got it for cheaper than a XP one, i got it with Linux on it. As i am someone that looks for a great deal. i took it, I then realized that Linux is pretty hard to operate.can i replace linux with window?
I am trying to install Fedora 12 on an Acer Aspire AMD 64 2 with 1 GB of memory.
I downloaded the Fedora 12 live CD Fedora-12-X86_64-ISO.
When I try to boot from that CD, I get a message "irq 17 too bust" and the system hangs before finishing the boot process. So I have very little to go on.
Ps. I previously installed Kubuntu 9.1 without any problems.
I recently installed openSuSE 11.2 on an Acer Aspire One, but when the installer try to start the new kernel with kexec it hang up, and if I reboot the system it hang up always, also says that the Acer BIOS is unknown.
I have an aa1 with the original set up but fire fox is to old for some sites how can I instal a new vertion Sorry, its is an acer aspire 1 with linpus, I think, it comes pre installed with fire fox but an old version.
I just recently installed ubuntu 10.04 and I am having no luck connecting to my network via wireless. I went into the top right with the little wireless icon to see no networks detected. I tried using lspci which came back with no wireless adapters[URL]..
I've just installed Ubuntu 10.4 as a dual boot on my Acer Aspire 0ne 533. I have to keep the Windows partition for work, or I'd have just installed Ubuntu. I'm used to plugging in an ethernet cable for the first round of updates until I get the WiFi working, but it just isn't working for me this time. I have a horrid feeling that Windows has a way of hogging the Ethernet card.
I had a look in the forums, and could not find anything referring to this specifically, which is unusual because as far as I can tell the AA1 is a popular machine and lots of people dual boot it. Perhaps it is an easy fix that's been buried in the archives?
I have ubuntu 10.10 server with a web site I am mess up in NIC configuration. I have only one web site on my server. I Have 2 Internet connection with static IP. I have 2 Network Card as follow eth0 119.155.152.140 (1st internet with static IP without firewall) eth1 203.135.30.240 (2nd internet with static IP without firewall) when i restart my networking it give me following error
I am trying to create a shell script (CGI) which will create a website with an embedded flash mp3 player. At the same time I want this script to overwrite the file currently in the playlist with another file which will allow me to change the song currently playing on the flash player. The reason I am doing this is so that I can copy the song I want to play to this file at a low bitrate reducing its size. The code I am using in my script is:
I have several web servers, say myserver1, myserver2, and myserver3, behind a firewall that the higher-ups run. They recently changed the firewall to block all ports except for the ones they want open. I have www.myserver1.com viewable to the outside world, but www.myserver2.com is not viewable to the outside world. I was wondering if there is a way to set things up so that people could go to [URL] and view the [URL] and [URL] website content.
myserver1 is running Solaris 7, which will (hopefully) be upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04. myServer2 is running Ubuntu 8.04. myserver3 is running Windows XP. I was wonder if this is possible with any OS, not just mine.
I just got my new laptop (Acer Timeline 3810T) but I'm having trouble installing F11. The specs are: Intel Core 2 Duo processor, SU9400; Intel GMA 4500MHD; 4GB memory; no CD/DVD drive.I'm trying to install from a live cd in a USB drive using this link URl...I can boot without problems, but then when I try to start Fedora I get a screen with a pattern of orange and black colors which flickers for one second or less and then just a black screen. I cannot verify the live cd either, I get the same black screen.
It obviously looks like a video issue but I'm not sure how to solve it. By the way, there's a long thread about installing Ubuntu 9.04 at URL... and there are several known issues, but I didn't see anything like this. I'll try to install Ubuntu later and see how it goes, but I'd really like to be able to get Fedora working...
I wonder how can i get download or firmware of my Acer D150 wireless driver. I've been googling it and they provide by .exe ( i think Fedora doesn't open .exe)
