I am able to print from Open Office just fine, but if I attempt to print a PDF or if I attempt to print directly from the internet, I get nothing! So instead I have to open the openoffice and copy the internet stuff to a page in there so it will print.Do any of you have an idea of what can be the cause.I am a linux noobie, so I may be the problem, however it is frustrating putting PDF's on flash drive and getting my son to bring his windoze laptop in so that I can print my PDF.
i am unable to print specific pages in Ubuntu. i connected my HP Desk jet F2120 printer to my Ubuntu machine and it installed correctly but now if i want to print only the certain pages from a word document or PDFs i am unable to print it. there is a option of pages in print menu which says : " example 1-3,7,11" i don't know what that means.
How can I combine multiple single page prints into a single print job? For example, using Firefox on Linux one can print a web page such that each sheet of paper has four pages printed upon it. I would like to combine several separate web pages so that for example, web-page-a, web-page-b and web-page-c (each less than one print page long) are printed on a single sheet of paper.
I would like to do this without having to use some form of image editor to combine and manage manually created temporary files.
i have an Brother HL-2040 and normaly all pages print fine. But i noticed that some pages from pdf file won't print. The driver says it failed. Can that be, that my driver has some problems? I tried others but they don't print anything.I have the current opensuse 11.2 version and the latest cups version.
when i print a document and select only certain pages the printout still prints all thepages. this is very annoying, since i have to print everything from anther compusing ubuntu 10.04 with latest updates.
Are there any reliable ways to print libreoffice or openoffice drawings to multiple pages. I have two drawings I designed for 11" x 22" sheets, and I'd like to print one of them to 4x or at most 6x 8 1/2" x 11" sheets, without reduction.
So far, when I've tried this using "print to multiple sheets," the results have been erratic, and have basically wasted paper and ink with no usable results.
I can't even preview this.
I am using the old trick of creating a duplicate file, and creating for duplicate slides within it, making each slide one group, and using the alignment settings to make each slide match one corner of the original image. It works, but it is kinda clunky.
I loaded FED 13 and running kernel 2.6.34.6-47 fc13, Now back from holiday, I'm trying without success to sort out a few problems. 1 can not print. the printer sets up OK epson R285, but can't print test pages or from any app, or from CLI with lpr command. Cups log shows this:-
I successfully installed cups on my fedorabox, I can manage it through the web interface on port 631. I added the hplip and installed a HP Deskjet printer. However, when I want to print a test page I get the following error: "no pages found". The print job is in a stopped state...
There is the option to select a "printable form", but the form is much larger than any paper the printer supportsIf I use "Print Preview" in Firefox, it creates only one page that contains the beginning of the form, and ignores the rest of the form.If I do the exact same thing on a Windows machine, Firefox creates as many pages as necessary when I click "Print Preview"I feel that this problem is not because of Firefox, but because of how "Print Preview" works on Ubuntu. How can I get the print preview to create additional pages to include the entire text when I click "Print Preview" ?
My wife has a canon MP470 printer and running ubuntu 10.10. I am able to print black and white, but unable to print photos. I got it to work using another driver, but not the 'correct' one for this printer. I have searched a bit and don't see anything about ubuntu 10.10, just older versions. Or should I just network her to my printer....?
Freshly installed Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 on Asus K50IN laptop refuses to show secure HTTPS internet pages, while posting this here is OKay. It says connection timed out. I tried several browsers FireFox Arora Epiphany.
I just installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 10.10 on a HP DV2500 laptop. Everything installed as expected but I am having some wireless issues I was hoping somebody could assist me with. I am able to connect to my network via wireless with no issues. However, when I attempt to browse the internet it will not connect to any pages. Obviously when I connect it via CAT 5 all works as expected. Any ideas on how to solve my wireless issues?
I have linux firefox installed on my notebook, and after having a bit of a problem with it, I did a full factory reset back to all the original settings. Now when I connect to the internet, some of the pages now are not displayed properly. For instance, when visiting E-bay, the listings look fine, but my E-bay page is all listed down the page, (if that makes sense) and I cannot look at any of the photos. MSN is also, how can I put this, spread out across the page. I have done a live update to see if that makes a difference, but no joy.
I would often like to print out information from a page on a website. I don't want all the rest of it - the pages before and after.
The trouble is that the websites page numbering, when it is available, doesn't often conform to my printer and the size of the page on the screen. So I guess at,say, page 6 and get something like page 3 if I printed it all out.
I recently bought my laptop (Fujitsu nh540) and installed FC14 on it. I have Integrated WLAN Atheros HB97 (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) (more info here about the config) running on: 2.6.35.13-91.fc14.i686.PAE
Since I installed FC I've had problems with the internet. In any browser pages load very slow, it looks like the browser waits some seconds, sometimes even 1-2 minutes until it actually starts to load the page.
Second thing I saw is that when it boots I keep getting: Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check cable? [FAILED] But I have WiFi internet. I am not using a wired internet connection.
I installed madwifi driver (compiled it, after reading some info on google and it seems it should be good for my network) and it seems it's a bit better, but I still have to wait some seconds until it starts loading pages. I tried different browsers, it makes no difference. On my other 2 laptops I have no problems, the internet works fine, same goes for my android mobile phone. Another "nice" problem I noticed is that when compiz is enabled I see incoming video on skype black and the same black screen for some movies with some programs. After disablig compiz, all works for video.
I can connect to anything locally, I can SSH in locally but nothing works from outside my network (can't access pages in apache, can SSH, etc.) I've checked the logs I can think of, but what should I be looking for? The last thing I did today was add a FW rule to log and drop from an IP, saved my iptables to a file in /etc. (this was at 10:45am). The last time I successfully logged in remotely 1:03pm. I connected multiple times in between. I've rebooted remotely once or twice. That's it. I've already flushed iptables.
I can't seem to fire up any web pages but I can do everything else on my ubuntu box. This seems to have started within the past day or so. My /etc/reslov.conf file looks solid.Again, I can ssh, vnc and ping to the outside but just can't load any web pages.
- Apache 1.3.42 from http://apache.oregonstate.edu/httpd/..._1.3.42.tar.gz - PHP 5.2.13 http://www.php.net/downloads.php - MYSQL 5.0.90 http://www.sfr-fresh.com/unix/misc/mysql-5.0.90.tar.gz/
I have configured and installed as per directions successfully, but I am unable to view PHP or HTML webpages. Seems like I am missing some small thing.
These are the details of my LAMP Stack. I have attached my httpd.conf hereby.
I have a Cent OS 5.4 32 bit final installed in my dedicated server.
I used to run lighttpd with php in my server until now and all was fine. But yesterday I changed my website which needs apache to run. So installed apache using yum install httpd command.
Then I added the virtual host name of my domain in webmin panel but when i try to run my php script in browser then its not opening php pages.
Instead it downloads php files like index.php when i open in browser. So I guess apache is not able to compile and run php pages. Only html pages are opening right now..
I just received a 2 tb drive for my server to be. The pc is a P4 3.06 ghz with 4 gb of ram. I have found a number of posts on this forum, as well as on the net in general, about setting up a file/print server at home. What I want to be able to do is to access my server through the internet from my office computer (windows 2000) How can I do that? I have not yet spent much time trying to decide which distro I will use. It seems that a number of them are suitable for this purpose, so I just plan to try several from a live cd and then choose one.
I have a local network of two computers running ubuntu connected via a Netgear FR114P. I also have one of the computers connected WiFi to the internet. Can I get on the internet from the alternate computer via the network? Some assistance is appreciated as I am a relative newcomer to this area.
After installing Fedora 12 my printer Samsung clp 310 doesn't print. When trying to print SELinux prevents printing. Changed SELinx to disabled didn't help, it still doesn't print. In 11 it worked just fine.
After adding a remote IP printer ,the printer print successfully the test page, but when i tried to do :lp -dprintername filename the following error occured:
unable to print file: client-error-document-format-not-supported - msg
